Detailed Reviews
We (my mother, husband & I) stayed at the Delta Guelph from September 29 to October 1 in a room where we required an accessibility shower. We were offered a standard queen with a fold out bed for the same cost as a regular double standard queen room. Overall the experience was excellent in terms of the staff & food while the accommodation had a few negatives but unfortunately the post-stay experience has been a negative. But I'll write more about this at the end.
The staff were friendly & helpful and in particular Daniel C & Steve.
Daniel upon meeting us serendipitously in the hallway after we had checked-in introduced himself and asked if we needed assistance as he saw that my mom was in a wheelchair. From that point on for the rest of our stay he was our one source for assistance that made our stay comfortable. His continuous friendly reminders if we needed anything to make our stay comfortable was more than lip service. Whenever we found small shortcomings in the accommodation he would efficiently rectify the situation if it was in his power to do so. Even after we left he has continued to provide assistance.
Another staff member was Steve at the Bar Mason who was polite and engaging. He met our every dining need and provided informed recommendations with regards to our menu choices. He provided direction as well when we indicated we wanted to have dinner with family from Guelph the next evening. Point to note, the food was tasty and varied and the top favourites among our family members were the Chicken & Dumplin’, Beef Rib Bolognese and the Coffee & Donuts!
Now for the 2 big negatives...there were small ones which were more annoying and were taken care of by Daniel.
1. The sofa bed had nothing that could be called a mattress. For our second night Daniel provided a second comforter to act as a mattress which reduced the feel of the metal springs but it was clear that the sofa bed we had needed to be replaced or repaired as some of the spring hooks would pop out if sat on the wrong way.
2. For each day or when you dine at Bar Mason, an authorization charge is made against your credit card. These charges are supposed to be reversed at the end of your stay. They haven't in our case. It has been 10 days since we left the hotel and I am still dealing with trying to get these charges reversed. To date I have had 3 long distance phone calls to the hotel...note there is no 800 number to the front desk so the calls are at my expense... and a call to my credit card company. Even Daniel tried to help but he doesn't work for Chase Payment Tech who he indicated was the source of problem.
Warnings:
1.Confirm that the sofa bed in Room 313 has a mattress or is comfortable at check-in
2.Keep a sharp eye on your authorization charges and check your credit card charges online daily

Great hotel in a good location with a good restaurant. The woodfired pizza is delicious. My only complaints are the strong perfume smell of air freshener they use in the lobby and weak wifi. For those of us with allergies the air freshener is almost unbearable. I held my breath from the elevator to the outside doors. The wifi was really poor, so much so that I used my phone data. This is surprising given it’s a major chain and we haven’t had wifi problems in other Marriott hotels.

Check-in was a nice experience with the front desk person welcoming me as an Elite Marriott Rewards member, and looking up to remind me that I had stayed there 6 years ago. My room was nice with a nice view, and while the hotel has a gym of its own, they also provide guests free access to a large full-fledged gym within walking distance. Service in the restaurant was outstanding for both dinner and breakfast that I went for. I enjoyed the stay.

Rooms are run-down, not clean. No safes in any rooms. The shower rod was rusted and the room was filthy. We will never stay here again. We were so disappointed, especially given the room-rate for 2 days. Marriott Hotels the parent company, need to renovate all rooms, have housekeeping standards in place and add room safes.

Be aware that if you book an inclusive breakfast, you're given a financial limit which is only revealed to you when you check out. Breakfast is in a small adjoining cafe with prices given on a menu, but you're only told when you check out that if what you chose exceeded their limit, you have to pay an "overage". I booked through booking.com and there was no mention of a financially restricted "inclusive" breakfast - do they expect guests to sit at breakfast with a calculator? Not what you'd expect of a big hotel.
The bedroom was tired looking and the air-conditioning unit very noisy. The sheets were clean but very creased - it looked as if the housekeeping staff couldn't be bothered.
A very disappointing stay and I would never stay there again.

Stayed at the Delta Marriott this past weekend for a dance competition. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and have always had good experiences at these chains however, this particular one fell short. The queen size bed mattresses in our room seemed to cave into the middle. If there are 2 people sleeping on one you both basically roll into the middle of the bed thus creating a very sleepless night. This was unacceptable for us. The sheets on the bed had holes in them as well. I also paid $50 for a 4pm checkout. When doing the transaction for this I was not informed that I would have to come back to the front desk to get our key re-programmed. So we were locked out of our room and when my husband when down to the front desk to inquire, the staff member’s response was, “ well why didn’t you come and down and get your room key re-programmed”? I felt this was very inappropriate…perhaps the more professional response would have been, “I’m sorry sir, let me take care of that for you”. This Marriott needs to look into upgrading their mattresses and perhaps re-train staff.

This hotel doesn’t match up with the standard I’m used to from a Delta property. The lobby was inviting & welcoming. However, one of the beds in the room had a visible sag. It was the most uncomfortable sleep I’ve had in a hotel. I didn’t ask to change rooms at first because laying on it quickly didn’t seem too bad. However, it was not at all comfortable. The bathroom had a pocket door separating the toilet and shower from the vanity and sink. I did bring the bed situation to the attention of the front desk staff when I checked out, and the response I received was more unsettling than my poor sleep. When I told them about my poor night and the bed sagging the person at the front desk just said “ok thanks” and barely acknowledged me. The guest experience is severely lacking here. I would consider other options before staying here.

The General impression as you walk in is a somber, angular visual theme, not too welcoming. Our room had the same vibe. It was well kept and the bed was really comfortable, but the air conditioning was noisy and kept us awake ‘til we gave up and shut it down. Breakfast is a joke: a stall near the reception selling mediocre, supposedly Starbucks branded items to be eaten held in your hand, that had to be heated in an oven and consumed sitting at an empty table nearby.

Stayed for 3 nights on business travel. Rooms were a bit worn but clean..until on my last night I saw a many legged insect crawl over the bed sheets. Front desk accommodated a room change late at night because of this which I appreciated. Breakfast in restaurant was good, but my only complaint is that there were a lot of small flies around the front of the area the two different times I ate there. Between this and the hotel room gives me the impression that greater pest control is needed. Would have given 3 stars of it had not been for good customer service at front desk and at restaurant.

The Delta was easy to find. Lots of parking (paid mind you but lots of it). The hotel was nice and clean and modern. Our room was nicely made up with the lights and tv on to great us with a personalized message. It was very quiet and all amenities were close by. We will stay here again the next time we are in town. If the restaurant and coffee bar staff were as attentive as the other hotel employees this would be an easy 5 stars

The hotel itself does not have a pool. However you are given free membership to the gym next door which has a large pool and great workout facilities.
There is no pool. Sorry.
No. Unless it's something that's been added in the last 3 months. From what I understand, this property was just being integrated into the Marriott system (for earning points) this month.
Good day. All Delta Hotels and Resorts are pet friendly. We do accept pets approximately 50-60 pounds in weight. Please be advised that there is a weekly pet cleaning fee that is automatically applied to the bill. We hope to see you and your Boxer at the hotel soon!
St. Joseph's is approximately an eleven minutes drive away from Delta Guelph. I would recommend taking a taxi as you do have to pay for parking. It should cost approximately $15-$20 for a taxi ride, maybe more depending on traffic.
