This is not so much about the room or the service as it is about getting ^%#$% price wise .The room was nice and the front desk service was OK. I even got an upgrade, The room was listed at a price of $208. Unfortunately I paid $539.43. I had booked for 2 nights. Upon arrival I told them that I only needed the room for 1 night. I was told that I could not cancel the 2nd night because I booked with a 3rd party. They were right, however beware, I booked through the Sandman website and it linked me to the 3rd party called RESERVATIONS,Com. The net is that I paid $539.43 for a room that should have cost me $208.00. BEWARE WHEN YOU BOOK THIS PLACE THAT YOU DO NOT USE A 3RD PARTY SUCH AS RESERVATIONS.COM Sorry to write such a lousy review, but I paid way too much for a hotels stay and since I could not even have dinner at Denny's because at was closed at dinner time…
We stayed there recently and on our first night there was no hot water. Queried this with reception who said the hotel is full so "let it run". 45 minutes later it was tepid. On checkout the water was too hot and we couldn't turn it down! Reception just said "sorry about that...." Additionally I have queried a transaction on my credit card account and, 5 days later, still waiting for a response
I am writing a review to warn those who want to book this hotel that there are major hot water issues at this property. I stayed at this hotel last night and was very disappointed there was no hot water available during my entire stay. I called the front desk and was advised they will turn up the hot water tank. The hotel was pretty much at capacity last night and they couldn't think of maxing out the hot water??? At $279/night, one would expect they can at least take a warm shower. I also had to park my car near the Walmart and walk over since there was no parking available. Not what I wanted to do at 1:00a.m. This is not worth the price I paid to stay here. I was offered a 50% refund but it really didn't help the fact that I couldn't take a shower which was very important after a very long day/night yesterday. Very disappointed.…
Decided to try a new hotel chain while on business. This hotel was ideally situated with adjoins two restaurants. Room was spacious, extremely clean and well appointed. Front desk staff was pleasant and very friendly to guests. Check in was quick and hassle free. Room was comfortable, quiet and very modern. Will stay here again. Negative. Parking.
I’ve stayed in multiple sand man hotels, this was nothing like any others. The manager George was incredibly rude and in accommodating. The front desk staff lied in multiple occasions, causing me to book a second room at their advice wasting money. I didn’t get the room upgrade I paid for. The room was freezing, and dirty. There was old coffee in the coffee maker, no toilet paper, few towels and garbage debris everywhere. Horrible horrible experience. While my experiences at other sandman’s have been very good, the recent experience at the sandman Hamilton was enough to never stay at one ever again.
Stayed here for 2 nights for my daughters wedding, staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was a little concerned because all our quest needed early check in due to wedding being at 4 and shuttle pick up 3:20 but all rooms were ready early for them to check in prior to shuttle pick up. Thought the king suite might have been a little bigger but served its purpose, had balcony which was nice.
No friendly faces, terrible service actually the worst I've ever experienced in a hotel ever. Damage to door in room. So many bugs IN the room, almost like fruit flies. Calking not filled in behind sink in room bathroom. For $200/night.... not impressed at all. Would have preferred to spend on a cheap hotel, probably would have gotten better service. Stale cigarette smell in lobby.
We stay here all the time. Very clean, friendly staff and lots of restaurants near by. We like to stay at this location in Hamilton because it has enough parking for my husbands commercial vehicle to park. It also has a Walmart next to it for when he needs to get prepared to hit the road long haul again.
I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of my room. The drapes and couch were covered with dog fur, which as a non-dog owner, I found rather unpleasant. Additionally, I removed a cushion on the couch in order to retrieve something I had dropped and was appalled at the amount of dust/hair/fur that was in the crack of the couch. My door did not close fully unless pushed/pulled all the way which was a bit unnerving, while the room across the hall closed very easily it slammed whenever my neighbour returned (which distributed my sleep). The freezer was so full of frost, there wasn't much space to put any food (which was fine for my short stay, but would be inconvenient if I was starting longer.
We came for a quick getaway, and really appreciated the cleanliness of the room, the comfortable pillow-top mattress, and nice shower. Having a Moxies right next door meant we could have a fun meal and walk back to our room. Had a nice time!
