Stayed overnight and was a good stay. King traditional room is large with a desk for laptops etc. Missing a bar fridge to keep drinks cold but ice machines nearby. Enjoyed the nice view of water in the distance. Hotel is downtown so a lot of homeless in the vicinity but caused no problem when we were out. Restaurant in the hotel. Only a couple nearby eateries for breakfast, lunch and dinner and access to Jackson Square Mall. Underground parking is $14.95 and lots of space on a Sunday but low overhead. Free in room wifi for Bonvoy members but difficult at times to get onto the network - waited over 30 minutes before gaining access several times(limited at times).

We paid a lot of money to be here only to find out in the morning our breakfast was an upgrade. That didn’t say that when we booked. I figured for the price we paid it would be included. The website says there is a pool and hot tub but the hot tub has been broken for a very long time and clearly covered with a board. Why don’t they mention on the website that it is out of service. A hot tub is a big draw for us. The pool area was nice and the deck area attached to the pool was nice. Could have used some greenery or flowers to make it pretty. The bed sheets were not done very well , as soon as you get into bed they are already coming loose around the mattress and then are crinkled and messy. That drives me nuts as I like crisp taute sheets. Again for the price maybe better quality service. The bed mattress was comfortable. Rooms were nice and clean. There is a mall under the hotel with an international grocery store , so we didn’t get much from that grocery store. The air conditioning in the room doesn’t seem to get too cold, I had it turned down to 16 degree from 21 and it still wasn’t that much cooler, maybe it’s the illusion that you have some control over the thermostat. I thought being inside the city here that we would have lots to see when we walked outside onto the street but there really wasn’t much around. Still had to drive everywhere. It was an ok place to stay.

The hotel was great, and we were happy with the room. We were allowed to check in at an earlier time and that was great. Upon checking out, the guy who checked us out asked us to wait while security looked at the room which we had no problem with, but he started making comments like, he needed to check to make sure the beds were still there, and made comments about us not lying to him. We are a blended couple and found this behaviour ridiculous. Both myself and my wife are professional people. Will never go back there ever again. Racism still exists!!!!

I’m a bonvoy member and have stayed at many Sheraton’s and this location is far from a Sheraton standard. Maybe it had it’s hay day but that time has long since passed. Beds are still coil spring and creak when you move, carpets are dated and smell, hallways dated, rooms are dated, rooms don’t have fridges, no room service. They have a bad problem with homeless and drug addicts begging right out front of the main doors. The Jackson Square area is very bad ie. people being robbed at knifepoint for Canada Goose jackets in broad daylight. I wouldn’t consider this hotel a Sheraton to be honest.

Stayed here one night. Parking was not free, but reasonable. You're downtown, so you can walk almost anywhere. The hotel has potential, but needs some renovations. The carpeting in my room did not look very clean. Because of Covid, breakfast was available at 9am. I've been traveling throughout Covid, and the vast majority of hotel restaurants open at 7am for business travelers on weekdays.

Best hotel in town! That's your home!

All staff are so friendly and professional! They will make sure you feel welcomed. Right from frontdesk, Ozjun will warmly take care of you. Ask for a Club Lounge floor room, you'll get special treats at the VIP Lounge. Mina and Erjona will make sure you fuel up for an adventurous day and relax with a sunset view. At the Chagall's lounge bar, Janet and Graham will get you in a party mood with delightful cocktails or you choice of beers and wine and a nice pub menu.

Really, this is the sparkling hotel you've been looking for!

We had a spacious room with great beds and pillows. The staff, from check in to check out at week later were friendly and helpful, making recommendations of where to eat and where to walk in the local area. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and very friendly. One particular standout among the staff was Janet in the Loft Lounge. After one visit to the lounge she remembered my drink choice and had it ready in hand on my next visit. Janet went above and beyond when serving a large group of friends when we met in the lounge following convention meetings. Thanks as well to the friendly staff in Chagall's restaurant when we stopped in for breakfast on a few days of our convention. If back in Hamilton in the future, the Sheraton Hamilton will be my hotel of choice.

We called the day before our arrival to schedule massages due to back pain. They recommended a guy who could come to the hotel, but when we contacted him, he lived 15 miles and we were to drive to his place, no compromise. We arrived around 8pm and asked for restaurants around the place... the only option was the hotel restaurant. Restaurant and Lounge have the same menu.. Amazingly, only the lounge has window tables with a view (of the street). Food was good, a bit expensive. The morning after, we found out the hotel is linked to a huge shopping centre where we found an amazing massage therapist. We went around the block and found many good restaurants. Bottom line, good hotel but plan your trip yourself: you are on your own!

This hotel is great as it is connected to Jackson Square Shopping Mall and to the Hamilton Convention Centre. It is nice as you do not have to go out side to visit these places. Nice in the winter. Lots of indoor parking. I found the room to be comfortable and good for a 3.5 star property. No fridge in the room which would been nice. They do offer them for a fee.

Business travel can take you to many different places. This time, I ended up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Check-in was easy and respectful. The team member was polite and helpful.

My room was clean and had a slight scent of bleach. Given current health conditions running rampant, it was a reassuring. Housekeeping needs to fine tune their process to ensure all surfaces are cleaned well.

The club room was disappointing. The offerings were paltry.

The hotel restaurant offerings were good. The serving sizes were ample. The service at dinner was disappointing. The service at breakfast was very comforting.

Overall, a good stay.

Answer from Joseph B
Dear Valued Guest, thank you for connecting again, Our Hot Tub was closed since Covid started in April 2019 and our Website was immediately updated with the message that our Pool, Fitness Centre and some other Hotel Services were closed due to Covid restrictions. When the restrictions were lifted in Spring this year, the Hot Tub remained closed due to the high risk of spreading infections. While we were planning to make it operational again in late Summer and when testing the Hot Tub, we faced some major technical issues due to the long closure of the Hot Tub which prompted the Hotel to make a decision to remove it completely. Please note, once this decision was made to dismantle the Hot Tub, the hotel went ahead and removed this feature from our website and also contacted all 3rd Party Channels requesting them to remove the feature from their websites as well. If our Hot Tub is still featuring on any 3rd Party websites, please bring it our attention and we will certainly follow up. Appreciate your understanding and we certainly will look forward to Welcoming you back to our Sheraton Hamilton Hotel. Sincerely, Joseph B

How far of a walk to the Toronto general hospital and is it a safe walk?
Answer from RoxyMonoxide

I am assuming that you are asking about the Hamilton General Hospital (Toronto itself is about 45min drive). The Hamilton General is not walkable due to distance and quite frankly it’s in an awful part of town. Sheraton is the closest hotel though.

Yes! Check out Joseph's Coiffures in Jackson Square - it's in the mall attached to the hotel. We used them for our wedding, actually! The owner's name is Maria - she's wonderful!

Hi Jen F, Thanks for reaching out. Yes, there is a 6' 2" height restriction in our parking garage, however we have an arrangement with an open air lot one block from the hotel which can accommodate our guests' larger vehicles. When you arrive at the hotel, leave your vehicle parked out front in the loading/unloading area and our front desk team can give you all the details when you check in.
