This B&B is a beautifully restored and furnished 1890 Victorian home, full of character and just steps from the main lobby of Hamilton General Hospital. Our hostess, Judi, welcomed us and we immediately felt at home. Our room - bedroom 2 - with a Queen bed, walk in closet, fireplace and flat screen TV- was very comfortable and spacious. Given that it was winter, we especially appreciated the flannelette sheets. There are 4 bedrooms; and all were occupied during our stay. There are 2 shared bathrooms - one for the ladies and one for the men. This did not prove to be a concern. The parlour is reserved for guest use and offered a comfortable area to relax and unwind. A hot breakfast is offered from a selection of choices - omelette, eggs, french toast - and we enjoyed the homemade preserves with our toast. There is parking available on the property. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been referred to this B&B as it offers unparalleled value. I wish we had discovered it earlier during our 4 night stay in Hamilton while my brother underwent surgery at Hamilton General.

Beautiful old Victorian with most of it's original hardware. The building is in great shape and the lounge area is tastefully done, with a radio piping in the local jazz station. Judi's breakfasts were the best on my vacation, both her poached eggs on homemade rye and her cheese omelette. She's a character and a great conversationalist at breakfast. I understand much of her clientele are there for the hospital, which is right around the bend. But the location is great if you are a walker, as it's easy enough to head out to the main shopping drags in the city or hit the farmer's market.

I stayed here in June 2015 - was in Hamilton on business - taking a course at St Peter's, which is about a 10 minute cab ride away. I can't find enough great things to say about this B&B - it is just WONDERFUL all way round - including the owner, Judy - she is a real gem also!
It is in a very central location - close to restaurants & pharmacy (less than 2 mins. walking distance) and the GO/Greyhound station - just 10 minute cab ride away.
I came "home" from my long day at my course and she heated up my leftovers I had had in the fridge! So sweet! Her breakfast was delicious! Best cheese omelette and multi-grain toast I have ever had - along with homemade jams and really lovely coffee. Hope I have a chance to return!

The Victorian Bed and Breakfast is somewhere I would never suggest to anyone for multiple reasons.
1. It is located in one of the WORST neighborhoods in Hamilton ON. There are strippers for blocks that surround the location on either side (we went for a five minute walk to a grocery store and counted six on the route), you can't take ten steps without being asked for cigarettes or change, it is located on a busy street that is inhabitated by young and older families(non favourable sort) homelessness and extreme poverty.
2. It is not really air conditioned(owner runs the ac at 74-78 on plus 30 days)
3. Rooms are reasonably priced but small and very outdated(not in a "Victorian" Sense) 4. Your room gets entered by inn keeper and a younger women without permission. (I was in bed sleeping when my door got opened to be very startled- I then asked her not to enter the room that day and told her that I had no garbage... Needless to say she still came in room while I was not present that very same day)
5. The breakfast is very mediocre and does not offer more then eggs (poorly cooked) or French toast).
6. This is literally the biggest one- a guests property had gone missing. After having left there yesterday that guest who lost his cell phone had shown up at my RESIDENCE (not the bed and breakfast) asking my boyfriend and myself if we had seen or taken it, we had advised we had not and suggested he black list his IMEI. WE DID NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO THE OWNER OF THE BED AND BREAKFAST TO GIVE OUR ADDRESS TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY A GUEST WHOM WE DON'T KNOW. I NOW FEEL EXTREMELY VIOLATED AND OFFENDED KNOWING OUR ADDRESS IS BEING OFFERED OUT. I CALLED HER TO ASK IF THAT WAS TRUE AND SHE OPENLY SAID "YES I GAVE HIM YOUR ADDRESS", SHE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND A VERY RUDE OLDER WOMEN. WE STAYED AT THE BED AND BREAKFAST FOR 2 WEEKS TIME AND HAD SPENT OVER $1000.00 IN DOING SO. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED GUEST.

We were passing through to visit family. Spent one night at Judy's B&B. House us very comfortable and price is fantastic (as was breakfast). The only negative for us was the shared bath but since the house only had 4 guest rooms it was not as big a deal as we first thought. If you are looking for quality as a low price then this B&B will meet your needs.

Hello my Mom stayed here when my father went into emergency quintuple heart bypass surgery a few weeks ago .
When my mom asked when breakfast would be served the owner , after taking her money said that they no longer serve breakfast . This being a bed and breakfast I would have assumed that you got both a bed and a breakfast.... not true here.
When my mom let the owner know that she would be checking out on day 3 instead of day 4 as my father was being relocated to a local hospital as he was greatly improved since his initial surgery the owner after being asked if she would be able to receive a refund on the night she would not be staying said that she didn't know how to use her credit card machine for a refund . After a long pause said that she could pay my mom back in cash but my mom had to absorb the taxes ...
Not very nice . This lady deals with people handling difficult situations with loved ones at the Hamilton General and doesn't really seem to care outside of her bottom line :(

I had the opportunity to stay in this clean welcoming Bed and Breakfast for 6 nights in Jan. 2016, while my daughter was in the hospital nearby - 4 houses away! Frank, the host, was most helpful for me with all my luggage and belongings! The bedroom was lovely, and the bed, with lots of blankets, was very comfortable. I enjoyed the TV and free Wi-Fi in my room, and the soothing music in the lovely parlour. The breakfasts, cooked by hostess Judy, were delicious and varied. The fridge, microwave and other items were appreciated too. Everything was lovely, and there were no problems with the shared 2 full bathrooms. Fairies were the theme of the B&B; although I called them angels, and I included the hosts! My stay there was a treat - a real mini-holiday! I have always wanted to stay in a true Victorian house, and to me, this was perfect. This B&B even has air conditioning for summer! I have stayed in many B&B's and I ignored the one bad review on this page. I am so glad that I did!
