Our third stay there was just as nice as our first two! We visit during the Christmas-New Years holidays and were impressed by the beautiful decorations, including the live pointsettia “tree”. The rooms are clean and comfortable and nicely appointed. Staff, both front desk and housekeeping, are always friendly and ready and willing to make our stay a good one. We had breakfast each morning and enjoyed the friendliness and hospitality of the hostesses/servers. My wife even chatted with the cook/owner on two occasions. They all treated us well!
Yes, it’s near the highway, but we were not disturbed by the traffic sound. All in all, this a great place to stay!

I've traveled quite a bit and spent a lot of nights in hotels. Often a room will look good but then there are flaws in the room design or the furniture is uncomfortable or they went cheap on an accessory. Not here. The design and the details were spot on. Some examples. The TV was large with a good picture and a great selection of stations plus all the popular internet channels. The desk was large providing an excellent work space plus plenty of room for all the incidentals. The bed was very comfortable and had 4 good pillows. The air conditioner worked well and was not overly loud. The bathroom was typical in size but perfectly designed. Walk in shower with 2 heads (one was an overhead waterfall). The counter surface was large enough for toiletries for 2 people. There were hooks and hanging bars for towels in the right places. The room and entire property was super clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, this wasn't the fanciest hotel I have stayed in yet everything was perfect making this one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I have ever had.

Very nice rooms. We upgraded to a suite which included the kitchenette, & it was worth the extra small fee. It included a sink, stove top, microwave, keurig, kettle, toaster, dishes, etc. The TV is a smart tv, so online viewing is available if desired. The beds are very comfortable with several large fluffy pillows. The bath towels were also noticeably large, fluffy & absorbent! The front desk staff are very friendly at check-in, and there is a restaurant on site, which seemed reasonably priced. Unfortunately the restaurant isn’t open on Sunday, so we are unable to rate that experience. The only complaint is that there was food left behind the tap on the bar sink in the kitchenette (photo room 112), indicating lack of cleaning, or even a simple wipe-down, & the mugs had coffee drips on the sides, also not cleaned. But overall a recommended stay.

With COVID, most hotels understandably did away with daily room service. However, with the worst of the pandemic over, the vast majority of hotels are still not offering daily room service on multiple night stays (unless specifically requested). However, the Visitor's Inn reintroduced the practice some time ago. It's so nice to be out all day on business to come back to your room and find the bed made, the garbage cleaned up, fresh towels on the rack, and replenished cups, coffee pods, etc. What a treat! It's what we always expected from hotels for decades but a reality that is experienced rarely today. Add to that the incredible CLEANLINESS of this hotel, comfortable sitting areas in each room, quality soaps (not those silly little matchbox sized soaps), and nice furnishings. And still add more.... pleasant staff, and a quiet environment! Enjoy. This is my "go-to" hotel EVERY time I'm in Hamilton.

We had a room on the second floor near the elevator. Although our room was a little on the small side, there was an extra large shower. The wifi was strong, parking was free, and the location was perfect for moving my daughter out of her McMaster residence. The room faced the 403 so there was a bit of highway noise but it didn't bother me. I would definitely stay here again.

I splurged a little and got one of the junior suites. It had a big, luxurious whirlpool tub that was easy to operate. The bathroom had one of the best showers I have ever used in a hotel, with a hand held shower and a waterfall shower. I did NOT want to get out of that shower!
The beds are also nice and cozy and I did not want to get out of bed either!
My room also had a safe, a refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker.

A very nice place within a short driving distance to McMaster University and downtown Hamilton.

Highly recommend this hotel. Took a chance based on other trip advisor reviews, and I'm glad I did. My family stayed one night, and the hotel and room were very clean. Left around 8:30am, and walked down the stairs (personal preference), you could smell that they had been cleaned recently. Not overpowering, just fresh smelling. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the room was nice. There was a walk in shower - no tub. (For anyone who may want a tub). We didn't have time to swim or eat there, so I have no review for that. Easy check in/out. Will stay here again and recommend it to others.

I reserved a Kitchenette here and was pleased when I arrived . the area for cooking was quite good and all utensils were available . Coffee machine with lots of pods . Toaster . Small fridge with plenty of room for milk, juice and other items for cooking .
I needed a small bottle of oil and purchased that nearby in a mall . down the hall , was a pleasant area with pool , sauna and dry steam room . Everything was quite clean and I had maid service every day . There is a restaurant in this facility if you need to have breakfast or dinner . I made my own breakfast each morning . My stay was for 4 weeks while my home was being renovated . Quite enjoyable overall .

My husband and I always stay at the Visitor's Inn. We love the rooms on the first floor with little kitchenettes. The last two times that we've been there, the first floor really smelled of weed. We didn't say anything to the front desk since we figured it was a one-time occurrence. But then it happened again. I can only assume that they have a long term guest residing on the first floor that smokes it. We will try this hotel one more time before we switch. Besides that, everything and everyone there are great.

Thank you for staying with us, and providing your feedback. We are sorry if the hallway smelled of weed when you stayed here. We do not allow any type of smoking in our hotel, and we try our best to get customers to follow the rules. Any guest who smokes in their room will be charged a steep fine, and asked to leave. I hope that you will return, and have a pleasant stay.

My husband was supposed to have surgery at McMaster hospital. They recommended the Visitors Inn as a place to stay while he was in recovery for a couple of days. We checked in the night before, since his surgery was scheduled early in the morning. I must say, this place was immaculate. They upgraded us to a room with two beds and a little kitchenette, since their restaurant was closed. It had everything we needed. Unfortunately his surgery got cancelled due to covid19. My husband and I decided to stay one more night, since the beds were so comfortable, and the room rate was very reasonable. The only negative thing I have to say is about the hallway odor. We both smoked in our younger days, and this "scent" brought back memories. Other than that, this was a great place to stay. Once they reschedule his surgery, we will definitely be back.
