I can only rate this a 3 as in all honesty, for what we paid, I would have thought that breakfast should have been included, however the 2 bagels and 2 coffees (approx. $14) were extra. If you DO want breakfast included, you must choose that option when booking and then it costs extra.
We did end up arriving at the tail end of serving, (breakfast on a Saturday was over at 10 a.m.? ) and the last gulps of coffee were full of grounds-not pleasant but survivable.
In fairness, the room itself was typical. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, I thought the dispensers in the shower worked much better than the teeny tiny bottles that are usually standard, sufficient towels and the blackout curtains worked exceptionally well. Check in was flawless, check out was simple. The clerks were courteous.
Added note: A $21 hold is placed on credit card for 'incidentals'.

Dear kae m, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your experience. As noted, Courtyard as a brand does not offer a complimentary breakfast as part of the cost of your room. I apologise if that option did not quite suit your needs. We do hope to welcome you back in the future.

The staff; the Bed; the convenience of it all. I will previce this by stating this is our go to hotel, home away from home hotel when in Hamilton area however it’s time for an update. We usually choose to stay in a king Suite, King, sofa bed Whirlpool room and not for the tub, the space and layout; or, the one we’re in now, Suite, King, Sofa bed which is a two room 1 bedroom suite and it is extremely spacious. Although Towneplace suites is literally across the street and yes, this particular hotel Courtyard is in desperate need of refurbishment, it is bar none best in service. The staff are always kind, patient, acknowledge us as mentioned we’re regulars and have always taken great care of us and their pride to work here. Shaila has always accommodated us any which way she can including I want to say Lexie!! I only remember her name because of a Greys Anatomy character name on the show lol anyways, this is our fav hotel in the area. TV now has comcast, Netflix, prime and other streaming all at a click of your phone/ device. They serve Breakfast and Dinner in their restaurant here but there are many options for restaurants and coffee shops all within proximity on Upper James. The hotel is easily accessible to the highway.
Food is good, coffee is on and feels like home.
I wanted to give a huge shout out to the team as we’ve been coming here for years and I can’t believe that we’ve/ I’ve never submitted a review. Stay you won’t be disappointed. If you are, it’s not because of the staff!!!

Hotel is in a good location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms were nice and beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean.

The on-site restaurant was mediocre at best. Our family members staying at the same time experienced cold soup that had to be rewarmed, cold oatmeal that had to be rewarmed on two separate days, and an average breakfast for an above average price.

The bar, which was part of the restaurant, was poorly stocked which the server blamed on the fact that they had never expanded their offerings back to pre-pandemic levels.

So I would recommend the hotel for sure as long as you don't plan to eat on site as there are definitely better options nearby.

At nearly $200 per night I expected more. Rooms were not bad but poorly laid out and service was not good. Had a supposed king suite where the bed was so close to the side wall that I had to turn and walk sideways in order to get in on that side. No directions from staff on how to find our room and ended up touring the entire hotel before we found it. No complimentary breakfast. Instead a high priced poorly organized breakfast bar serving coffee in paper cups and fast food type breakfasts. Went to have breakfast before checking out. paid over $32 for two simple bacon and eggs meals with coffee... waited well past 1/2 hour but meals never came. When we questioned why it was taking so long, we discovered they had lost our order or perhaps had given it to someone else. Others were having similar issues. Would not recommend this hotel!!

We stayed here over Christmas break. The room and location was all good but we couldn't sleep because it is soooo loud. Two nights there were hockey teams staying there. Kids around 11-13yo running down halls banging on doors at midnight. We called to security who said they talked to the kids but they aren't changing behavior. Why didn't he talk to the parents?? Josh at the front desk was nice to us and offered us another room at 130am but at that point we just dealt with it instead of changing. We learned many teams use this hotel. We go to Hamilton a few times a year but we need to get up early so this won't work for us.

We stayed here at the start of a trip after flying into Hamilton. The hotel is a short drive from the Hamilton airport, the room was comfortable and clean, wifi was good, parking was free and there are lots of restaurants nearby. We would stay here again.

Hotel is dated, still has bath tubs and not standing showers. TV picture was blurry considering its 2022 and the world omhas HD streaming and TVs. Heating and cooling made terrible noises. The shampoo smells like muscle relaxing cream. Restaurant prices were rediculious and too expensive. The pool looked cloudy and the hit tub looked green.

The good, lots of restaurants within walking distance.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Hamilton on two occasions; Feb 16, 17, & Feb 26/27 for a business trip. On both stays I stayed in room 225. I was extremely happy with my stay. My room was a decent size, the king size bed was super comfortable, the water pressure was great & I had no complaints. The only thing stopping me from giving the hotel 5 stars was that it lacked an in room safe & a microwave. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I'm at my hotel in Hamilton,
Courtyard Hamilton
1224 Upper James Street,
I have to say without a doubt, this is on of my favourite Marriott properties to frequent, the staff are amazing, the rooms are spacious and well appointed.
But the purpose of this post is this is THE best hotel shower designs, only thing I would change for my shower is glass doors and this shower heaf system.
(I have to get me that bench for when I build my condo.)
