We stayed for one night while we visited Queens University Open house. We went down to the pool hoping for a relaxing swim, that wasn’t happening. The amount of kids in this tiny pool and they were splashing water everywhere and so loud. The lifeguard did nothing. Do not come

We stayed here during our Thousand Islands trip. Located near highway 401 it was quite convenient for o drive to and from Gananoque for our cruise. The room was clean and quiet. It was quite roomy too.

I have stayed here numerous times and have been impressed each time! Excellent location, great service and extremely clean! It is located beside the King's Crossing Outlets so great place to stay if you want to shop. Plus their Bistro serves Starbucks! Love it!

Clean, convenient room set up. Everything about the room was nice. The hotel is in a great location. There is an outlet mall adjacent to the parking lot. Boston Pizza about 100 metres away. There’s also a movie theatre across the street. Very friendly staff. A huge lounging

This was a very clean and comfortable room. The front desk was very helpful. Did not get a chance to try breakfast but it all looked good. Lots of parking and the grounds were well kept and clean. Will definitely use this hotel again and recommend it.

I would contact the hotel as it was closed for repair when we were there and we did not have kids with us.

Is a continental breakfast included in the room fee?
I was there on a business trip, the company I work for has negotiated rate that includes breakfast, however I do not know if that is the norm. Best to call and check. The staff at the front desk will provide you with the details.

We have joined the Destination Marketing Partnership simply because we believe it to be a benefit to the growth and development of the tourism industry in the Kingston Market. Tourism is not just hotels. Tourism is restaurants and shops and events and meeting centres and museums and tours and historical sites and many other small businesses. Tourism is a major economic engine that supports hundreds of thousands of jobs in Ontario, with a high percentage of youth employment (36% of the Tourism workforce is aged 15-24). It is one major area in our province with huge opportunities for growth, and additional employment, positively impacting GDP (Currently 3.7% of total GDP-Ontario). In the absence of sufficient Government funding to support tourism initiatives in the wake of 9/11 and SARS (we are indeed still feeling the negative effects of these events), the Provincial Government has enabled hotels to collect a fee, up to 3% of room revenue and remit to a Destination Marketing Partnership. As a result of the catastrophic impact those events had on the Tourism Industry, the Provincial Government had reduced the applicable percentage of Accommodations PST by 3% and enabled hotels to instead remit that amount to a Destination Marketing Office in their market to promote tourism. That arrangement came to an end with the introduction of Harmonized Sales Tax. With that end, tourism funding saw an immediate drop, slowing down the already slow to minimal occupancy growth we have been experiencing since 2001. Current visitation numbers still remain below historical levels, meanwhile the number of visitors internationally has increased steadily, resulting in a widening tourism gap between our province and international tourism trends. In an effort to reduce that gap, we (among others in the market) have implemented a destination marketing fee. In the same way that room rates or any other related hotel charges/fees or taxes are not determined by our Franchise (Marriott), we as a Franchisee, have opted to charge the fee and submit it fully to a Destination Marketing Partnership for the Kingston market, as is permitted by the Provincial Government.

Hello there. Just to clarify a few things here in regard to Destination Marketing Fees. It is a charge of 3% added onto all hotel stays. It is not an optional fee at our location. It is NOT a tax. It is a fee that the hotel charges in addition to all room reservations. There are other hotels in the market that impose similar fees, who are also members of the Destination Marketing Partnership. The "voluntary" reference from the Ministry of Tourism that tends to be misconstrued refers to if a hotel or tourism industry entity chooses to be a member of a Destination Marketing Partnership and remit funds to that partnership. It does not suggest that a customer can chose to refuse paying it. For further information on the Destination Marketing, I would suggest referencing The Overview of Destination Marketing Programs in Ontario - Considerations for Tourism Organizations. It can be found on the website at Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Sport (I cannot provide links here.) As a traveller, I would direct you to the last section, titled "For Consumers".
