Stayed here with my daughter and her friends for a birthday sleepover. Rented two rooms, requested adjoining and request was granted successfully. I will say the hotel is dated. Both our rooms had cracks all around the ceiling of our rooms, our one bed had what looked like a paint strain on the sheets, when you walked by rooms in the hall- paint is chipping off door frames and some frames were actually cracked and broken. Rooms were clean. The pool area has lost some zest over the years. Large pool isn't heated and is freezing (something lots of guests complained about), water slide was running and by far the kids favourite part, but the hot tubs are gone what looks like indefinitely. They are just surrounded with a large wall and when the main pool is like a ice bath it would be nice to have those to warm up. Bring your own towels as the pool towels can't leave the pool area. indoor basketball court was a hit. Food was good in the restaurant. Service was good. Good prep a tad slow since we were only one of 3 tables. Prices were reasonable. I don't recommend the fish and chips as two people at our table got it and found it soggy and were not impressed with it. All staff in all areas were friendly. The kids did enjoy their stay. But if this hotel wants to stay competitive they need to do more for eye appeal. There is another hotel in town now with a slide. I would stay again simply for kids happiness but not as someone who wouldn't benefit from the water slide.

Checked in here for 3 nights, check in went very smooth, of course the hotel was set up for social distancing, no restaurant available, and room staff only come through the rooms every fifth day, if you stay that long. If fresh towels are needed, soiled ones are put outside the door and staff will replenish them, by putting in a bag. Or one can go to main desk in lobby and they will give you whatever you need. This is all understandable due to the ongoing circumstances. We were in room 273, which had a king bed, and full bathroom. The room was quite large and had a pull out couch. Bathroom was a bit on the small side, but by no means too tiny, everything worked fine, had no issues with our stay. If you are looking for a view, do not take this room, outside our window was a wall, so if this is not important to you. The room is great. Willl definitely stay here again.

"They" say it is the #1 three star hotel in Kingston. I would have to agree. The hotel and our room was immaculately clean and comfortable. Their is a mini-fridge, a microwave and a Keurig in the room. Shower was clean, no musty smells anywhere.

We had breakfast in the hotel. They give a choice of buffet or a la carte. One of our party was gluten intolerant - the waitress knew exactly what he could and could not eat.

Every staff member we met was very friendly and helpful.

Number 1 3-star in the city!!

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it has been ok.
This past weekend was not ok.
I was assigned room 161.
The room is very small. The double bed fills the room. I could hardly move around the bathroom (I am a large person).
The walls are in need of a major paint job. Marks all over.
The ceiling needs to be redone as well.
The bedding looked and felt very cheap.
The light switch tuned off the clock radio and power bar.

On the positive side, the bathroom looked recently refreshed.
Overall, it felt like a room I would get at $40 per night hotel

As well, the room is near the entrance, so you hear everyone. On this night, there were children/teens being very loud (yelling to each other as they went to the pool). We had to turn on the TV very loud.

The TV was small and the selection available from Bell was limited. Gave up and attached my laptop.
Fortunately, they did not hardwire the cord as I did not bring an extra HDMI cable.

When we got to the hotel we were told we couldn’t pay cash for our deposit which would have been fine had we been notified ahead of time. We then had to go get my grandmother to bring her to the hotel and borrow her card to hold the room and take her back home before we could enjoy our married life. Our cards were maxed out with our wedding expenses and the payment won’t post for 5 business days so no help. When we finally got to our room exhausted from our wedding week we had to clean our room because it was disgustingly filthy. The corners of our shower had built up scum that could easily be cleaned with a scrub brush or even toothbrush, I do this at home myself. The tub had a wad of someone else’s hair we had to clean out. The AC filter vents were so clogged with simple dust that I’m surprised they haven’t caught fire. We washed them in the sink because that’s not healthy. This was supposed to be the place we could relax and honeymoon. We told them it was our honeymoon suite and didn’t get anything to symbolize that. Not even a clean room. The hotel we had the night before gave us chocolate covered berries with wine and glasses to share it all and robes to wear at no extra charge. I guess stay at the best western if you want a nice honeymoon or stay. Not here.

food was excellent, everytime i come i would like to use hot tub and it is not open this was at 5 pm? Very disappointing. Party was great, come every New Years. Noisey next door and in hallway as always. Cheaper hotels offer free breakfast post stay, i know it is smaller level but would be nice. Bed was very comfortable but noise level next door, adjoining room girls were noisey. Last year kids were running up and down the hallways at 230 on the morning. My husband can sleep through anything.

- [ ] We had several issues with our room. The bed was terrible - seriously sagging in the middle which resulted in the 2 of us ending up in the middle. There were 2 queen beds in the room, but bedside lights only in the middle between the 2 beds. I suppose if we had been sensible, one of us should have abandoned ship and gone to the other bed. When we arrived in the room in the afternoon, the A/C was going full blast and the room was freezing. Not exactly energy efficient. We adjusted it, put our yogurt in the fridge. We had purchased yogurt because the restaurant was closed and no breakfast would be available (this was expected). Off we went for our evening. When we returned, we went to bed and had a poor sleep due to the terrible mattress. The next morning, we discovered that the fridge was off. We assumed that it would be operational, especially since the A/C had been on high. We also noticed that the windows were full of condensation and that there were minor irritants such as no fan in the bathroom, loose door knobs, poorly attached lamp shades. The room felt like it had been unused in a long time. We wanted to get ice to put in our cooler bag, but there were no ice buckets in the room, nor at the ice machine located on a different floor. At the price of $150 per night (plus taxes) with no amenities, the property was completely unsatisfactory. Rooms need to be updated, especially the beds!

Moving back to Kingston our home was not ready, we needed to stay in a hotel with a kitchen because the kids would have a week of school in the gap and I had to work. We booked the Ambassador Hotel. We would not opt to go back to this hotel ever again.

Unbeknownst to me at the time of booking and check-in, the Ambassador was/is being used as a quarantine hotel for a number of organizations. As well, the pool and fitness area have been closed for months. I note that the hotel still displays the pool and fitness centre as amenities online, questionable practice I think. Despite these two critical deficits, the Ambassador still charged me $250 for the first night and $125 after that. If you’re quarantining, though, it’s $60 a night.

Our check-in process was a bit rough and it seemed like I was either boring or upsetting the lady at the front desk. We couldn't check in when I arrived (early) and got an eye-roll when I asked when the room would be ready. Our room was on the main floor and near the elevator.

The rooms are small and dated, and we had the unpleasant experience of hearing the elevator system discharge air every time someone used it, which was frequently. It was also challenging working my day job in the room and hearing the construction on the sixth floor all day. That forced me to find alternative arrangements for my first week back to work. Again, had I known I would have simply gone elsewhere.

There were literally dozens of people “quarantining” in the hotel. By that I mean they were out smoking by the main entrance and walking around the hotel with no mask on. The front desk is a distance from several of the hotel “wings”, and so no one challenged all these people walking around with no PHM.

The minute our house became available we modified our booking to get out early. I am still battling with Expedia and the hotel for the $250+ to be returned.

I have stayed in hotels around the world. Good ones, bad ones, and everything in the middle. I would not ever stay at this hotel again and would recommend that it be avoided at all times.

Worked with Jonathan Rebelo to create a special and memorable 16th birthday for my son and his friends. We had a wonderful experience from check in to check out and all staff were very friendly and accessible. Jonathan went above and beyond to make this day special for my son and dedicated the electronic sign outside to announce my son's birthday. The kids had a great time at the pool and enjoyed playing basketball in the indoor court until it closed. The best part was the food, we sampled many dishes and the kids requested seconds of the steak and ribs for a late night snack and the staff were very accommodating. We had an issue with the TV and the maintenance staff were there in no time to fix it. Our room was very close to the front of the hotel and necessary amenities, was very clean and comfortable. A huge thank you to Jonathan Rebelo for being so professional and communicative with me to ensure we had the best stay possible and making everything so easy!

We have never seen a room with so many issues. It was awful!!! COVID can’t be blamed for everything. We did not bother asking to change rooms as we heard the front desk clerk tell a guest they were fully booked. Last time we stayed at this hotel was around 13 years ago. This room should never of been sold!!!

The pool is indoors, so weather doesn't determine if it's open or not. You should probably call the hotel and ask if it is closed for repairs/cleaning so you know for sure.
