Detailed Reviews
I do not generally like to stay at inns/motels. However, given that it was the beginning of March Break, many hotels were either booked up or extremely overpriced. My husband and I booked this inn before going up to visit our son at Queen's for one night. We arrived late (after the office had closed) and they had left an envelope on the outside of the office door with our name on it and the keys to the room inside. From the outside, it looks like any inn/motel. However, upon entering the room we were amazed! There were hardwood floors (no dirty carpeting), and brick panel covering one side of the room, just like the pictures show on the website. Everything was clean, and we enjoyed the sink outside of the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again while visiting our son in Kingston.

Just finished our stay at the Green Acres Inn. We had originally booked to stay 2 nights but added a 3rd once we arrived just because we loved it so much and, luckily, they were able to accommodate us. While breakfast is not included in the stay, there are plenty of places to eat nearby. And with the little in-room kitchenettes, you can bring cereal, milk and fruit etc (they also have a toaster, fridge, and coffee maker) and do your own simple breakfasts before hitting the beautiful pool on the grounds and/or hitting the town. Worth every penny. Immaculately clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the most friendly staff anywhere who went above and beyond for us when we needed extra towels for our children and a late check out when running a little behind. This is a charming oasis, with beautiful grounds, amenities, and rooms and you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. Our kids especially loved the slide and swings on site and we loved the opportunity to barbecue and eat outdoors. Bring your bug spray if it’s a summer stay and you plan to hang out outside after dusk. We will most DEFINITELY be back next year. Thank you SO much, Green Acres Inn!

We were surprised by the park like setting. Rooms are larger than a chain hotel and kitchenette was a separate area which made breakfast easier. There is also a BBQ - clean!- and picnic area. And a pool.
It's a family run business that takes good care of guests. Reasonably priced and good location.

A lovely stay! We were in the tulip suite, which was comfy and spacious. My husband, in particular, was appreciative of the contactless check-in and check-out. I was particularly appreciative of the outdoor pool, which was cool, but refreshing on a hot summer’s day! We hope to stay here again next month!

Nice motel with many restaurants, supermarkets and all kind of shops in the near neighborhood. Free parking available in front of every room. Our room (1 queen bed) was spacious, well equipped (whirlpool bath tube, tv, refrigerator, toaster, coffee machine, water heater, etc.) and very clean. Guest laundry is also available, which we relay appreciated. Beside of all these positive aspects the best asset are the owner and the staff of the motel. They were so friendly and helpful. We would come back, if we were near Kingston again.

It has been forever since we’ve stayed in a motel accomodation.
Our Queen unit was really compact but good use was made of space and it was well equipped with frig, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom even had a jacuzzi tub.Free parking at your door.
The office was really helpful giving excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants even providing a map and a short description.
The property is lovely and should attract families! It has a slide, large swimming pool which was being closed for the season, BBQ and picnic tables, a gazebo, a hammock, vast expanses of lawn and a beaver pond. I even saw a bunny rabbit on my tour of the grounds.
Prices are reasonable. The one downer was traffic noise at 7 am on a very busy Princess St.

Green Acres Inn was a very pleasant stay starting with the friendly greeting upon arrival and assistance to find restaurants in the area.
While the units are motel style with parking out front of your room, my unit was clean, comfortable and well maintained.
A nice touch was upgraded towels (when compared to similar priced national chain hotels with their flimsy towels)..
Definitely worth considering.

This is an older property. We arrived around 7pm. We stayed in the Spa Suite. There was no air conditioner on when we arrived. The windows were open letting the heat and humidity of the day in. The room was like an oven. Stifling. The only air conditioner was a window type cut into the wall. Even on high for most of the night there was no relief. What it did offer was noise equivalent to that of a jet engine. My head ached. The jacuzzi tub is in the bathroom where the ventilation fan didn’t seem to work at all. When in use the room got so humid it was like a sauna. The bathroom including the jacuzzi smelled musty and it was easy to see something going on around the tub like mold. There was no bottled water, just a jug of filtered water given to us from the front desk. Sketchy. The ice was also given to us in a zip lock bag from the front desk. Also sketchy. The mini fridge gave out more heat than the air conditioner gave cooling.
The furniture is quite worn and outdated. Perhaps the worst was the bed. The mattress doesn’t fit the frame. So every time I got out of bed the back of my legs were scraped from my ankles to my calves on the wooden bed frame. The mattress needs replacing people. It was so soft and so lumpy that you sunk into it several inches compounding the heat problem. The ground are quite pretty and well managed as was the pool area. The front desk clerk was lovely and helpful. All in all we wanted to love this little inn but it is clear there needs to be some pretty major updates at this point. We would not recommend nor will we return.

Response from Heather Ford, Owner at Green Acres Inn
Responded Jul 9, 2024
I am so sorry to hear that you had issues during your stay with us. Our whole team strives to ensure each guest has a wonderful stay and we take your feedback very seriously. I will speak to our maintenance and housekeeping team to ensure each of your concerns is investigated and remedied immediately. Regarding the style of furniture in the room it is intentionally decorated with Queen Anne antique reproductions including the four poster king bed, which does present as antique, I am so sorry you didn't enjoy it. I can assure you that this mattress is a top of the line brand new Premium Simmons Beauty Rest purchased just 10 months ago so I am sorry that you did not find it comfortable. On a positive note I am delighted you enjoyed the grounds and found our Front Desk Team to be lovely. We appreciate your kind words. Our mission is to provide excellent customer service and so if ever any concerns such as these are brought to us we would have done our very best to correct them to your satisfaction including offering you an alternate room that may have been more to your liking. Please don't hesitate to call me if you wish to discuss any of this further. My cell number is 613.449.1796 Sincerely, Heather

I wish there were a 3.5 rating. Or a 3.75, as I would give that. The staff are really friendly and we REALLY enjoyed walking around the grounds. We are outdoorsy types (husband and me plus a small poodle) and we ate 3 meals outside at the tables on the premises (there are 3 different spots to choose from), thanks to the lovely early June weather; so, so nice! There is a short stroll one can take along a marsh/beaver pond and oodles of grass to enjoy, as others were doing too. I never saw a mosquito. I did not use the pool after I chased 3 ducks out of it...but it was nice and warm. When we checked in, we noticed a strong musty smell in our room; I have allergies, so we asked to move to another room, but it was close to Princess Street, which is quite noisy and offsets the quiet and peace of this place (a Cardinal sang right outside our window...the grounds are so large and natural). However, this room was also musty and unfortunately, before we went to sleep, hubby closed two of the 3 windows so I woke up early, stuffed up. We later noticed that all of the rooms had opened their large front windows, so perhaps they were musty too? The room was cosy (we had the Queen) and hubby did some grumbling about the size, but it was clean, bed was good, and it was handy to use the mini-fridge, microwave and plates and glasses etc. And as another reviewer has said, this IS a motel, not really an Inn…convenient for parking but nothing fancy. We drank a lot of the Nespresso coffee available at reception because the coffee in the tiny coffee maker in the room sucked. Unsure if would stay here again due to the musty smell.

Just returned from a beautiful weekend getaway in Kingston . My daughters came across the Green Acres Inn from an internet search when we were doing when researching places to stay in Kingston . They brought it to my attention as there was an outdoor pool advertised . Well , I found out pretty quickly that Green Acres Inn had more to offer than just that great outdoor pool. Booking the stay was a pleasure . Sara was very helpful and friendly . We booked two inter connecting rooms which was great as it really added to our comfort level . Both rooms were renovated , clean and nicely decorated. Rooms had Mini kitchen with microwave and fridge and some basic utensils. Note gas bbq on site which was a plus . The pool was great , the lovely green grounds were great and oh that cute little gazebo .
Note there is AC which was also a plus but one of the units was very noisy. That’s really the only issue we had. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in Kingston . The owner should be proud . The staff was very friendly and helpful . Nice place !
