We had two nights here. When we booked it, we were concerned it might be a little quaint BUT this is a really cool and distinctive B&B, beautifully decorated with an exceptionally high designer finish. We had a king Premier room with a large bay window. Bathroom beautifully appointed. Nice to have a little bottle of fizz and chocolates on arrival. Loved the cookies in Reception. Very nice breakfast. We parked on the road at the weekend, which was okay. Only a short walk into town. Worth noting there’s no TV in the room, we loved that as it was beautiful and quiet. Also, the communication over text is really good and very welcoming both before enduring our stay.

The Rosemount Inn is an enchanting historic B&B located in a quiet area. After you stay in a place like this, the big box hotels won't feel so inviting. Steps to historic downtown Kingston with many sights and restaurants. Recently renovated top to bottom, with more of a couples/ adults atmosphere. Gorgeously appointed rooms, "Nespresso" machines in each room, freshly baked cookies upon arrival, very comfortable beds and a spa like bath. The owners Lucy and Matt were wonderful and extremely attentive, top notch customer care (communicated by texts). Breakfast was delicious, and the friendly chef also went above and beyond to ensure everyone had what they needed. Delicious coffee, fresh fruit, baked goods with homemade jam, breakfast wraps on a panini press were just a few of the items offered. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this exquisite gem! Thank you Lucy, Matt and the Rosemount staff for facilitating this lovely get away experience.

This B&B, set in a grand historic house very close to the downtown area of Kingston and Queens University was one of the nicest B&B's we have stayed at and definitely the nicest place we have found in Kingston. The entire experience was 5 star from the communication prior too, during, after after arrival as well as the ease of check in and right too breakfast. Parking was convenient. The rooms are beyond immaculately clean and well appointed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room and modern bathroom was well appointed, spacious and the rich colour of the walls and fireplace in the room made it even more warm, cozy and inviting. There were delicious cookies and water bottles left out for us in the foyer. A welcome bottle of sparking wine and delicious chocolates in the room. There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was lovely and Michelle who managed the kitchen was attentive and kept everything well stocked. The coffee was exceptional.
Overall I really cant say enough other than thank you to the owners/manager of this location for their attention to detail. We look forward to coming back next time

Cozy room with small patio, very pleasant shower room and quality king size bedding. Both the interior and exterior of the inn are very tasteful. The breakfast was very good, what is offered seems to change every day: we were treated to a pesto/ham/egg sandwich, a cinnamon roll, a soft orange cake (the staff advised us to go there). add strawberry jam, delicious!), fruit salad and fresh fruit with juice and hot drinks. The staff is very attentive, very pleasant. The cookies available at the entrance were delicious!

This was hands-down the best B&B I've ever been to. It was comfortable and beautifully designed, the right balance between historic and modern. I loved the gas fireplace in my room and the large shower. The gorgeous parlour, which was empty much of the time, was the perfect quiet spot for relaxing and reading a book. Breakfast was served buffet-style and offered something new each day. The variety and quality of the food was outstanding: breakfast sandwiches, fruit, pastries, croissants, and more. The chef came out to greet me each morning as I was getting my breakfast to ask how I slept and if I needed anything. The Inn was within walking distance of downtown and the waterfront, so I didn't have to use my car too much. I will definitely stay there again if I'm ever back in Kingston!

Daina was very kind and helpful. She made up for areas that came up short. Also, the location was very convenient. The place is cleaned meticulously and protocols are in place for everyone's safety. There is no minibar, but I can understand that they don't want people going in and out of the room because of possible contamination. When I requested wine, Daina brought me a small bottle.
The place did not match the information on Booking.com and needs to be updated. There are no bathrobes and slippers because, I was told, of COVID 19. I don't understand why they can't wash those items the same way that they do towels.
The decor was another thing that I did not like. This is a nice old Victorian mansion, but the rooms are painted a very dark, gloomy grey. The walls hosted a series of square, black frames, which contained segments of a sketch that had apparently been cut up and arranged like a jigsaw puzzle. Also, glued to the mantlepiece, there was a slab of white marble with canvas draped over one corner. I found the whole thing silly and pretentious, as well as uninviting. Additionally, there was no television.

Response from The Rosemount Inn, Owner at The Rosemount Inn
Responded Jul 27, 2020
Hi Courtney, We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the service you received from our staff and that you appreciated the meticulous cleaning and sanitization of our property. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to make a few temporary changes to our services to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff. We have spared no expense and effort to ensure that the Rosemount remains a safe, comfortable, and healthy place to stay despite the unprecedented times. To that end, we have had to remove the minibar contents, robes, and slippers from our guest rooms in accordance with provincial and local health regulations. As you mentioned, beverages from the minibar are available upon request and we were happy to deliver them to your room. We regret that the design and decor of your room did not align with your preferences. The Rosemount Inn has been freshly renovated and completely remodeled by esteemed hospitality design agency Studio Author. Each of our guestrooms are uniquely designed and decorated with lush colours and textures, luxurious finishes, and a mixture of beautifully restored period pieces and modern furniture to create a unique Modern Victorian aesthetic. Additionally, all of our photos on Booking.com, Tripadvisor and elsewhere offer an accurate depiction of our property.

We were looking forward to a luxury boutique experience for our last night of vacation but this was marred by several annoyances which resulted in the feeling that we didn’t get value for money. Pros: location within walking distance to waterfront tourist attractions; historic building full of character; good bathroom and amenities; good bed. Cons: high price; modern renovation not particularly to our taste, especially slab of granite on fireplace mantel with drop cloth draped on top (couldn’t tell if this was left behind by painters or a piece of art!); lack of surfaces in room to put things on, except a round tray sitting on top of an ottoman; room fan which we couldn’t adjust to cool the room; windows and a French door which were locked, meaning an uncomfortably warm night; Nespresso coffee pods were unlabelled….presumed to be regular…no decaf provided; disappointing two person Covid breakfast left at the door at 8am….to be eaten when convenient. The single hot egg, ham, and cheese croissant might have been delicious at 8am but less than appetizing when cold at 9am! The rest of the breakfast consisted of orange juice, a small fresh fruit salad with a single piece of Brie, chocolate chip loaf, and cupcakes with icing….more like afternoon tea than breakfast! This could have been improved by providing two croissants with butter and jam, yogurt, and nutritious muffins. Although staff were helpful at check-in and check-out they were otherwise out of sight and only reachable by phone…..something we were reluctant to do in the evening when we had problems with our room temperature . Given all of these issues, we found the almost $400 bill (including Ontario taxes) to be much too high and would not consider returning to the Rosemount Inn.

We came to move our son out of third year university and booked a night at the Rosemont Inn. The inn is lovely on the outside and in. The room is very well appointed with a charming bathroom. I particularly liked the shower and the scented body wash. The mattress and pillows were just to my liking. There was a nice little bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge along with some delicious truffles. A nice surprise was breakfast in the morning; freshly made scones and bread, delicious yogurt parfaits with granola and fresh juice and coffee. I highly recommend this place and will return again.

Standout B&B in Kingston. Modern amenities in a century Tuscan villa. My wife and I spent a weekend at the Rosemount finally getting our first opportunity to stay there. We reserved months in advance when we had our pick of rooms. We stayed in the tower room which has a very nice balcony off the front of the building and a narrow staircase access to the top of the tower that you see in the middle of the building. The room itself is small but it has these extra spaces which make up for the size. Their is a unique fragile large bible dating to the 1840’s up there that was special to see and read from. The standout was the breakfast cook/baker who was fantastic! Friendly and willing to accommodate fresh made eggs and bacon. All the prepared items are baked fresh on site and very scrumptious. Grounds were well kept. Saw lots of other couples - Canadian and international. Looking forward to visiting again!

Charming, well thought out and very comfortable. I stayed in room 1, one of the king suites. It was spacious with a great view through the garden doors but the black out curtains kept the room dark for sleeping. With room 1 being close to the main entrance I was a little worried that noise might be an issue but my stay was very peaceful. The continental breakfast buffet had some tasty items and the chocolate chip cookies on the welcome table were amazing. I limited myself to one which is the only regret I have about my stay. I’d recommend the Rosemount to anyone looking for a quiet yet luxurious stay in Kingston.
