The Island Princess tour boat is a stones throw away and all kinds of restaurants close by within walking distance.
The room was showing it's age a wee bit but it was clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit soft ,as we like the mattress hard ,but that's a matter of choice and we made out fine.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived a 1PM and the room we had booked was not ready but they upgraded us to a better one which was ready at no extra cost.
Parking is $20.00 per night underground, and we were there 3 nights but they only charged us for 1 night parking.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

Our room had a huge picture window that overlooked the harbour and the merging of Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River, and the Rideau Canal that connects Kingston with Ottawa by boat. There isn't a better hotel location anywhere in the area.
Everything historic downtown Kingston has to offer is within easy walking distance. Like any good tourist town, there are several terrific restaurants to please every appetite. The inside parking is secure and convenient, and the elevators are timely and reliable.
Staff have noticeably disappeared from most hotels, but not here. There were usually 3 people behind the desk, and the manager was often found in the lobby speaking with staff and guests. I was astounded to learn how many languages that their combined staff are able to speak,
Since my last visit, the hotel has undergone a major renovation. Staff kept surfaces clear and clean, and fixtures polished and bright.
They offered a boxed breakfast with ample food for pickup on the main floor. A novel idea that works!
Kingston is my favorite town to visit in summer, and Confederation Place is now my favorite hotel to stay.

Didn't use underground parking, but understand it is available for an extra fee though spaces are limited and it is recommended to book in advance.
Boxed continental breakfast was provided as a take-away meal.
Major positives: location (near everything downtown), service (staff were really nice to us). Also no hassle checking in a bit early, which was convenient. Price is good too! We also spent a bit more money for lake view, which was worth it.
Slight negative: decor dated but was fine for us.
For COVID-19 times they serve a cold takeaway breakfast (boiled eggs, cheese, muffin) plus coffee/tea, which is nothing fancy but good for picnicking in the park next door.
Parking is $15/night but if you don't mind walking 8 minutes there is plenty of free overnight parking (on weekends) in Kingston.

"The front door is not accessible. You have to go around, down a rather steep walk, and get buzzed via the underground garage."Read full review
