On a long trip having been at 18 different hotels with these pancake machines. This is the first that works completely perfectly. Kudos to the kind woman doing the breakfast bar.
Front desk was thoughtful and kind as well.
This hotel will be better too once the construction around it and roads are done. But still worth the stay.

+1
Wonderful hotel at the top of the city.
Very nice, very new hotel. Suites were great, nice having fridge, heating element, microwave etc. Rooms were eco friendly, lights on sensors, heard some people moan about it, we didnt find it an issue at all.
Room amenities were excellent, simple things like chromecast built into tv, and silly things like slowly lowering toilet seats, so not toilet seat noise in middle of night.
staff were excellent, very helpful in giving recommendations of things to see and places to eat downtown. Took uber downtown to avoid parking hassles, was about a $25 uber trip one way.
Complimentary breakfast in hotel was nice, took advantage of it each day.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We got a king room and it was HUGE. Wifi works well. Annoying that the bathroom light is automatic-it can go out of you if you take too long. It has a full size fridge and two burners for a stove and a microwave. I was disappointed there was no oven. It did have a dishwasher but I didn't use it, preferring to hand wash what few dishes we used. They had us using a pot to hold ice, but at least there IS ice. No trays-get it from the machine.
Good COVID cleaning and policies. Great price. And the staff is a delight.

For a new hotel with strict cleaning policies and a clean assurance, this hotel is a disappointment - to say it kindly. We checked into our room and it had food under the sofa cushions, the shared jug was left in the fridge with milk in it, new / fresh towels were not in the room but the dirty towels were still in the room. The drawers in the bathroom and bedroom had coiled hair in them. We couldn't trust that the bedding was clean so we chose to use our own after we saw a cleaning person carrying a load of sheets in the persons arms tucked under the person's chin.
We saw a cleaning person carrying dirty bedding and towels tucked under their chin. We highly doubt that cross contamination was prevented. Allegedly, this room had been thoroughly cleaned and a nice note was left in the room by a housekeeping employee, possibly supervisor. Two mornings the hallways stunk of sewer gas. A leaking garbage bag (at least the trail went out to the exterior garbage area) leaked in the elevator and across the downstairs foyer floor. 24 hours later, the garbage fluid had dried but remained on the floor. No cleaning had removed it. There was hardened mud spread across an elevator floor and out into the foyer. 20 minutes later it appeared to be swept up but dirty footprints were all over the foyer floor. Coffee was spilled and not wiped up in multiple places but a caution sign had been put on the floor. The coffee station did not have cleaner or a sink with which to clean. It had coffee spilled and stir stick on the ground. At the self serve counter, lids, sticks, cups were not wrapped or sterile. No method of sterilizing anything in that location. Hotel staff said that we could put or sealed/tied garbage out in the hall at anytime because cleaning rounds are done each hour. We set out a bag and it was almost 4 hours till it was removed. We stayed her because it was new and had very strick cleaning policies. We have stayed in many hotels. This is by far the most unsanitary hotel that we have ever been in.
Aside from the above, the room was lovely and spacious. We had a view out our window into a metal framed factory or repair shop. We finally figured out the bathroom automatic light. There are 2 buttons to push to override the auto-function.
Sadly, the noise from other rooms was very loud and the banging lasted for hours. The front desk allegedly attempted to stop it but was not successful. We assumed, wrongly, that a new hotel would have more effective sound barriers between the rooms.

Hi arthurrichardc. Thank you for leaving us your review and for making us a part of your visit here in Kingston! We're grateful that you chose the newly-opened Candlewood Suites! We live to provide our guests with a space to settle in, but I'm sorry to leave you feeling otherwise, arthurrichardc. I read about the lapses in room upkeep and agree that cleanliness has never been more important than today as we battle the ongoing pandemic. I also regard your thoughts about the noise and the need for a clear sanitation process in the coffee station. On a positive note, it's great that these didn't stop you from recognizing how lovely and spacious our rooms are. Trust that this has been brought upon our management's attention and be discussed within all concerned staff. We may not have been our best on this trip but I'm positive to end this with a 5-stars on your next visit. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay with us. Kind regards, Frank A. We went last weekend to watch our granddaughter's ringette tournament, so the location was excellent for this purpose - nearby the arena, so we can go, watch a game, then return to rest, and go to the arena for the next game a few hours later.
We received a warm, friendly and helpful welcome from Brittany Cormier, for which we are grateful as we felt amongst friends from the start. Thank you!
The hotel is new, modern and clean with great coffee available in the lobby.
Our room - 2 queen beds and a kitchenette - was spotlessly clean, spacious and the kitchenette had everything necessary to make a light meal (we did not stay long enough to take advantage of this option, but still we appreciated the convenience to be able to do so if needed). The beds were very comfortable, with soft and firm pillows for us to choose from. This will be especially helpful if you are travelling with children, and they will certainly enjoy the pool.
Nearby there is a plaza with multiple restaurants to choose from, so we found this convenient, too.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay there, apprciated the customer service and highly recommend the hotel.

Visited Kingston for a hockey tournament and was very lucky to stay here.
Huge new rooms with apartment size fridge, dishwasher, dishes, toaster and microwave. Comfy beds and nice towels. Nice heavy doors with slow closing mechanism that didn’t bang when closing and kept sound out.
Staff was amazing. There was a mixup with my reservation that they went out of their way to fix. Every encounter with front desk staff
Breakfast was an extra $10. I bought breakfast food so I didn’t use but heard it was good.
Location was a bit far from downtown but close to the rink and lots of services within easy driving distance.

On a recommendation from Myke at the Newmarket Holiday Inn, I decided to spend 3 days at the new Candlewood Suites in Kingston East.
I was told the hotel had only been open a couple of weeks, Emma at the front desk was amazing!
I got to my room it was King Suite with kitchen it was beautiful, and clean it had a nice reclining chair, I was expecting company so a couch would be better.
I was introduced to Azhar the General manager and Tapan his housekeeping supervisor, they worked on setting me up on the 5th floor that was not even being rented out until all of the units were ready to rent out so that I would have a suite with a couch.
The customer service was second to none during my stay, I felt like I was at home! I was treated like family and would definitely recommend this hotel for future guests.
Thank you for a great stay! The letter and complimentary mug for being the first guest to use the room was a nice touch! All the best with the grand opening!

Check-in & check-out times, as well throughout our stay, they receptionists and also the young man who fixed the 'beeping' in our room ;) were polite and respectful.
Kitchenette was well appreciated - having dishes and cutlery available; a sink; a full-size microwave oven - even 2 range -top burners!
Comfortable bed
Being on the top pet-free floor away from any cats and dogs. My wife is extremely allergic to animal dander - we were very worried about her possibly having an asthma attack...but she was fine, thank you!
Having a slip-free mat in the bathtub would be appreciated - we mentioned this at checkout; the receptionist said that they had mats available if one requests one, Perhaps you should mention this in the guest room availabilities?

Stayed at the brand new hotel. Holiday Inn candle wood suites. Nice hotel. They didn’t have any weird carpets that freaked out my dog because of his poor vision.
The room had a kingsize bed. Two side tables. Nice big tv that you could cast your Bell Fibe to. A kitchen with an apartment size fridge, dishwasher, sink, a a cooktop. They provided, dish soap, cloths, cutlery, dishes, dishwasher tablets, pots, utensils. If you needed a place to stay longer than a night. This is the spot. The room also had a cozy chair that reclined. A table for eating at. A small desk area for working. A safe in a closet with hangars, a Landry basket, and extra space to store suitcases etc. The bathroom had a tub shower. All the lights had extra plugs and usb plugs.
There are no rooms on the ground floor. It’s all fitness centre, indoor pool and conference rooms as well as breakfast area. I would stay here again.
