Room was newly renovated. Clean. Nice man at check in. Close to restaurants. Tim Hortons across the street. Great price $80. Quiet. Perfect for a quick stop. Just off the Hwy 401. Would recommend for sure!
Good for day-labourers or beer-laden fishing trips. If you like lumpy pillows and creaky beds on wheels, then look no further. The clientele give a particular "je ne sais quoi" to the ambience. Think Cletus Spuckler honeymoon fantasy. The shining quality of the motel is the proximity to the Tim Hortons just across the road. Lacey "drapes" across the back and bathroom window allow a penetrating illumination, regardless of the time of day or night. More creative patrons may find themselves draping their bed blankets over the curtain rods, should it prevent a restful slumber. The shower is unique in that it make you nostalgic for your own bathing facilities. The en suite air conditioner is akin to a friendly asthmatic gentleman with a mouth full of ice breathing at you from across the room. However well-intentioned our ice-mouthed friend may be, he simply cannot get the job done. If you like cold beverages, then look no further than the Tim Hortons across the street, as the furnished refrigerator may leave you wanting. It's common place to have free wifi with your suite in any lodging, but this place provides you with a tempting amuse bouche of a connection without the gratification of the full entrée. The price of the room, being less than what it would cost to fill the gas-tank of your boat-towing F150, is astoundingly accurate. You get exactly what you pay for, and not one penny more. The service is without fault in terms of booking and reception. There were no problems with noise or pests, and reception appears to take pains to "spread out" the booked guests. The room is technically clean, however lacks certain amenities, such as 2/3 of the lightbulbs in the bathroom. $2 for 3kg of ice. Good or bad? Doesn't matter. Buy some Oban and pretend your an anthropologist documenting a recently discovered tribe. Would I return? I cannot say. Life finds a way, and this lesson I will always cherish from Hilltop Motel. P. S. Booked directly by phone, and the reservation was kept and cheaper than using an online booking system.…
The staff was helpful and friendly. Comfortable place and very clean room, exactly what we needed after long hours on the road (close to 401). They offered us extra towels. Room was very nice and quiet! Air conditioner, mini fridge, microwave, cable tv and Netflix are available. The internet connection was very good. Bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. There was no coffee machine but the place is located across the street from Tim Hortons. Better than expected, will stay again! Thank you Hilltop Motel :)
The weather was getting worse and as I grew tired from driving, I pulled over to search for a no frills overnight stay. At just over $50, I worried about what I was getting myself into but the great reviews pulled me in. I was curious. The room was dated but very clean and the staff person at the desk was very friendly and helpful. I must say that if I ever plan on visiting Kingston by car, I’ll stay here. A great bargain!
