We booked this hotel for 5 nights from June 30-July5/21 through Booking.com at $129/night. Everything was going fine until we found ants in our bed on the 3rd night. We took a video of the ants and reported the incident to the front desk. They placed us in another room for the night while they cleaned up our room. The next morning we were told that they found nothing in our room, and that they had changed the sheets, fixed the dresser door and the bathroom door handle. The clerk then proceeded to warn us about leaving food around in our rooms. Note, we made a point of cleaning all containers before throwing them in the garbage because we were told that the rooms were not cleaned until we checked out due to covid. Also, the ants were in our bed and not around the garbage cans. She then told us we could go back to our room. Upon returning to our room, I watched a beetle walk across the floor after only 5 minutes in our room. We then decided to check out and figured we would be charged for the 3 nights we stayed. The clerk charged us $149/night for 3 nights and stated that the rate is higher during the weekday as opposed to the weekend. After much discussion, we decided to walk away and pursue this further with Booking.com once we got back home. I should also mention that one of the clerks is also part of the house cleaning staff so she leaves the office locked during day time hours while she is preparing rooms for guests.…
Our hockey team booked family day weekend. The kids played mini sticks in the courtyard. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are very clean and freshly renovated. If we’re back in the area we will definitely stay here again.
We arrived at Talbot Trail Inn to be pleasantly met by a young man at the front desk. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was spotless and included a sofa, desk with chair. Queen size bed was extremely comfortable and all linens looked brand new. When we went in search of a corkscrew, the front desk went above and beyond to find one for us. Our party included 4 other couples. One of the other quests' room was huge with a jet tub and king size bed. ..... they got to host the rest of us for cocktails before the wedding!
Two room suite, tub with 2 easy chairs and fireplace and large tv, and the other room with king bed and the bathroom. So really 3 rooms. Fridge, microwave, and wine glasses on the fireplace. Very clean and quiet. Great for romantic getaway and day trip to Point Peele National park.
I would rate this hotel between average & very good. Although it is an older style motel, the rooms have been renovated. Everything was spotless with "hardwood" & tile floors. There were both a microwave & fridge in my room. It was very quiet & noises did not transfer easily between rooms. I am very sensitive to smells so I found there was some kind of odour in the room which I couldn't pinpoint, but leaving the window open for 2 days was not successful in eliminating it. This smell, which could be from cleaning supplies, was the only reason I didn't give this motel a rating of "very good". The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast is not included, but there is a restaurant next door which served a decent breakfast for about $10 when juice or coffee were added on to the meal ($6.50 for a standard breakfast of bacon, eggs & toast, $2.25 for juice). The restaurant is open all day until 9 PM so lunch or dinner could also be purchased there.…
