This hotel was selected out of several options to celebrate another E and E mini getaway. It is part of the chain of Ontario's Finest Hotels and after staying at the amazing Sterling Inn and Spa in Niagara Falls (another Ontario's Finest Hotel), it was an easy decision to try this hotel. Our initial reservation consisted of the Queen Bed Courtyard Suite. But upon arriving and viewing the rom we decided to change to a King size suite. The receptionist was very accommodating and showed us 3 different rooms. We settled on the top floor King and Front Balcony suite. We were not disappointed and loved the comfortable bed, great pillows and room set up. The shower was very nice with great heat and water pressure. Our only regret was not being able to spend time on the balcony overlooking their beautiful front entrance area. The room comes with a complimentary breakfast in the morning and you can have room service (for a surcharge) or dine in the main level. We dine in the main level and enjoyed a wonderful full breakfast with coffee / tea, choice of juice, eggs done anyway you prefer, choice of meats, hash browns and toast. The receptionists were all fantastic, friendly and helpful. They helped us with recommendations for shopping, restaurants and anything we needed for the room. They went above and beyond and made our stay fantastic. This is not your basic cookie cutter hotel. The Idlewyld Inn and Spa boasts both class, charm and comfort.

A huge congratulations and thumbs up! Your friendly and courteous staff pulled off a warm and welcoming stay during these crazy COVID times. It's the first trip for me in several months and hotels and accommodations are still not back to normal so I wasn't sure what to expect. Room was great and you even supplied a take-away breakfast option. Thanks for that.

Everyone was so pleasant and friendly. Evening and morning staff very courteous and accommodating. Room was stocked for necessities for my whole stay and even though a tornado blew through the area I didn't feel uncomfortable with the heavy rains and winds.....a very secure building and even though it could have been a high alert emergency situation I never felt frightened by annoucements/alerts or front desk calls. Nicely done all!

This was my second stay with Idlewyld and I will return again......hopefully to that wonderful breakfast where you serve fantastic coffee and have a peaceful start to the day!

Again, well done. Thanks for a very pleasant stay.

We booked for Christmas and Boxing Day . All staff were extremely accounting. The Al a carte menu was delicious. They give you a form to choose your breakfast, with included several menu choice, plus required of dining. Even bearing in mind this was prior to going back to closed dining, the tables were well spaced, all staff masked and goggled as per the requirements at that time. We felt completely comfortable in the more “public” spaces. I believe our waitress was called Christine? She was absolutely lovely. Engaging and shared some interesting anecdotes. We will be back!

I had booked the Gourmet and Refresh packages for three women (room, dinner, breakfast, credit for spa service) to celebrate a milestone birthday several weeks in advance. The day before we were to arrive I got a phone call saying we hadn’t booked any spa services despite the fact that there had been several phone calls to coordinate services and we had booked three spots. Not a great start to our getaway. However, even though we got off to a rough start, working with Chris and Brittany, we were able to come up with a good solution to the problem. After that little blip, our getaway was wonderful. The estate room was clean and comfortable. Our food at dinner was amazing and service was excellent. Breakfast the next day was delicious, spa services were indulgent and the spa staff were great. I so appreciate that the management worked so hard to make our stay extra special. I am already planning to take my adult daughters there in the near future to do another package.

This is a cozy and quaint hotel in a beautiful old mansion in a great part of the city. We could walk to Wortley Village and by taking VIA Rail it is a $8 taxi ride away. The restaurant was very good as was the breakfast buffet. The room had a thermostat that did not work for heat—either you had dry heat or you could turn it off. Not the best. Our room was fine and the bathrobes were lovely. A jacuzzi in the bathroom was super nice. Overall a great experience but superb would have come with a better TV (the cable box was affixed poorly with duct tape) and a real heating system

I was really surprised as I expected this to be a luxury spa with good customer service. From the moment I walked in the sitting room, the staff were loudly discussing going to the washroom to "pee" and something about washing their hands and residue on their hands. They then said "eww" to each other back and forth louder and louder. My appointment was late, the staff did not apologize or introduce herself. The body wrap treatment was not what I expected. For example, normally they say when they are going to start touching your head or shoulders/pecs. I am not accustomed to this being done without some prompting. Overall, it was a subpar experience based on what you pay for it with hopes of relaxing and taking some stress off.

We stayed for one night at this great hotel, as we were in the city to see Blue Rodeo. From the minute we walked in, we were warmly greeted. We enjoyed drinks sitting in a room that made us feel like we were back in the UK. They serve local cider which was amazing. Dinner was spectacular in the turret room. Our room was quiet, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. Our serving staff were 10+. We couldn’t find anything negative to say. We will recommend it highly

My husband and I came here for a delayed anniversary weekend and it did not disappoint! Since we booked fairly last minute, we couldn’t get spa services, but managed dinner reservations for both nights. They have converted rooms used previously for sitting rooms into dining areas to meet the Covid distancing requirements. Breakfast is included (selection of eggs, bagel and lox, homemade granola and yogurt) and was as sumptuous as the dinners. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. We will be back!

I brought my father for lunch at Idlewylde after more than a year of Covid restrictions. We were so excited since the patio at Idlewylde is one of our family’s favourite places.
There was a fixed menu which was fine, however, for the price the quality of food was very disappointing and not the standard we were used to. Cheap sides, steak was grocery store quality and dessert was obviously from the freezer and on par with a Costco product. Definitely not made in house Strawberries were awful, hard and with no flavour.
I am hoping this is not going to be the “new” standard with new ownership and Covid challenges.
The last time I went was summer of 2019 and the food was exquisite. Not even close this time

This is my second visit and won't be the last. Had a wonderful relaxing weekend getaway. Loved room 302 with the soaker tub and balcony overlooking the beautiful front garden of this historic inn. Room 304 has a relaxing sitting area in front of a bay window. The parlour and front porch with the propane fireplace were very cozy and inviting. The staff are very friendly, professional and go above and beyond to make your stay special. Looking forward to next time.

You won't believe the breakfast! If it's the same as when we were there, we ask how much it cost because it look like a fantastic brunch. They said it was included in the room. It had everything you could imagine, and it was all excellent.
