We absolutely loved this place. The rooms were beautiful, The food amazing and the staff very courteous and helpful. There is a beautiful outdoor space behind the hotel that is very peaceful. The chef here is an artist and and you can tell he loves what he does as it shows in the flavour and appearance of every day she puts out. We will definitely go back!

This is a cozy and quaint hotel in a beautiful old mansion in a great part of the city. We could walk to Wortley Village and by taking VIA Rail it is a $8 taxi ride away. The restaurant was very good as was the breakfast buffet. The room had a thermostat that did not work for heat—either you had dry heat or you could turn it off. Not the best. Our room was fine and the bathrobes were lovely. A jacuzzi in the bathroom was super nice. Overall a great experience but superb would have come with a better TV (the cable box was affixed poorly with duct tape) and a real heating system

We usually stay at Holiday Inn and Suites or similar near the interstate. This time, after reading TA we took a chance on a totally different experience and we are thrilled with the outcome. The room was larger than normal, clean mostly modern and very well kept. When we arrived at 3:30pm people were having cheese, wine and conversation on the porch/patio. The genuinely nice staff from the front desk to restaurant and house cleaning were amazing. We checked in and walked to a recommended sports bar a few blocks away and had a good brew and food. There was a pharmacy next door so we picked up a couple things. Beautiful walk back. The next morning we had a fabulous breakfast brunch and much to our surprise it was included in the room price! Probably 30 or $40 value. We will definitely choose the Idylwild when we return to this area.

I visited this morning for breakfast and WOW. The staff was top notch professionals through and through, from the grounds crew to the servers. The food was delicious, and a perfect way to start my work week. The attention to detail in restoring the property is remarkable, and our neighbourhood needs more investment like this in order to both celebrate our heritage and provide modern hospitality on par with major cities around Canada and the world.

Just a beautiful place! The 2 rooms that we had over the summer were very comfortable albeit small. I would expect the rooms to be this size because of the age of the building. It has been meticulously restored. Hardwood floors throughout and impeccably decorated. The restaurant is beautiful with several rooms in which to dine. Including the front porch patio! Excellent service and food!!!

We stayed at the Idlewyld on various Sundays as we were bringing our daughter back to university. At first, everything seemed fairly clean and staff were polite. Our last stay, I noticed some large yellow stains on one of the comforters. I told a staff member upon our departure who told me the linens are cleaned by a professional company. Despite this information, I felt for the price of accommodations, large stains should not be apart of the sleeping experience. Housekeeping needs to replace soiled linens with ones that are not soiled even if it was cleaned! After each stay I was encouraged to provide feedback to the manager which I did with this last stay. I have not heard from the management at all. Perhaps if I had, I would not have felt the need to provide this review. Very disappointed with customer service.

In regards to the linens they are professional cleaned however the comforter you are referring to should not have been placed in the room. For that I do apologize for the inconvenience. I cannot say enough about this Inn! It was everything I was looking for in a solo getaway! The grounds and building are immaculately maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I love how the décor in the main common areas of the property are authentic to the period when it was built. Stately and luxurious! My room was tasteful, comfortable and very clean. I especially enjoyed the delicious and plentiful breakfast provided in the morning. I was able to leisurely eat and relax on the front veranda while taking in the beautiful garden and water fountain. It was excellent value for the experience! Highly recommend the Idlewyld and look forward to returning one day!

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding and had a great time. The building has a charm and historic feel to it that is unique. The service was fantastic every minute and we found that the employees took care to ensure we had a good stay. Would recommend!

Idlewyld is my first choice when working in London. Have stayed in a few local hotels and haven't been terribly impressed. Idlewyld is clean and comfortable, highly recommend. The area is great for restaurants and pleasant walks. On my wish list, as a regular patron, I would love to have access to a gym. But if you are there for the spa, that probably won't cross your mind. There are cute little desks in all rooms, but perhaps it's my petite stature that makes them difficult to work from or eat on. The coffee, fridge, hair dryer and other amenities are awesome. Most rooms have good lighting for applying makeup, or at least a window nearby. The restaurant has great food, good coffee. I preferred the a la carte breakfast to the new buffet (especially during times like these, when even this beautiful inn is impacted). The gardens are beautiful, and taking breakfast outside is a joy. Front desk staff are all lovely, and have helped to make it my home away from home. I often arrive late evening, or at night. At other hotels, I sometimes feel like an inconvenience. At Idlewyld, I'm greeted with a friendly words and a smile by John or Tobias, who always offer to help with my luggage, even though I always decline. A casual conversation after a long drive goes a long way. How these gentlemen cater to the late crowd never ceases to impress. During the day, Leah and Oritz are kind and friendly, all smiles. I can't say enough about the staff. A big thanks to you all for making my work travel a pleasant experience.

Stayed here many times over the years. First post pandemic visit, and it's still fantastic. Great food, helpful staff, wonderful building, excellent location. Plan on going back in a couple of weeks. A true quirky boutique hotel. Would not stay anywhere else in London.
