There are so many issues here, but I will start with the positive- family run, the staff are nice people. Our room had been recently remodeled and was decent. Comfy bed. However, it ends there. The hotel is just outside the tourist area, in a blighted area. Dirty and rundown. The hotel itself is more than dated. Hard to see it surviving. 3 night stay at about $100 per night. We actually checked out 1 day early, despite paying for 3, and went to the Ramada on the River for $33, which was excellent and included a top notch buffet breakfast. The "breakfast" at the 7 Night Stay was the worst I've ever encountered, other than a Motel 6 that offered a box of powdered hostess donuts. Here was cold cereal, white toast, and bagels without even cream cheese. No yogurt, no fruit, no hot food. I never leave negative reviews, but there are so many other options at Niagara.

I got a great online rate for the rooms in this hotel. This is what I did not expect to find...

The air conditioning did not work.

The hotel rooom had a foul odor.

The shower was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

The TV had no remote.

The furniture looked like it was 30 years old.

It is located in a less than appealing neighborhood of the city. There is a factory right across the street.

In conclusion, if this is a last minute stopover, it will do for the night. However, if you are looking for a great place to stay that is full of amenities that you would come to expect, choose another hotel.

My husband and I went to Niagara realizing that we weren't staying at the top hotel available, but I didn't expect the conditions we found. In our room we had 2 queen beds, 2 dressers, a TV with cable, air conditioning, a bathroom, and a small refrigerator. Plus it was less than a 5-minute drive from all the excitement of the Falls. Listing the amenities you'd think this was a nice place to stay. We thought so too based on the descriptions and pictures we saw. When we arrived, however, I found the accommodations less than satisfactory. The drain in the sink was clogged with hair and gross, though I must admit the rest of the bathroom seemed clean enough. Most hotels give you soaps, shampoos, and such in case you forgot your own. The Red Carpet Inn did as well, but they were a jumble of miniatures with logos from other hotels on the bottles. The furniture in the room was miss-matched. While there we tried to make a reservation at a local restaurant but our phone wouldn't work for local calls. We talked to the people at the front desk, but there was a language barrier, which made communicating difficult. We had to go to them twice before they figured out which button to push so we could make local calls. The pool area was adequate though the chairs were outdated and uncomfortable. In general I'd describe the hotel as outdated and miss-matched. Overall I was very disappointed in the service and presentation of the hotel.

Very comfortable beds. Pillows were nice and fluffy. Pool was beautiful and warm. Mr Gill was so very nice and polite. Always making sure we had what we needed. Very nice motel. 8 min walk to the falls. Would highly recommend this motel:))))

My fiancee and I recently visited Niagara Falls and ended up with one of the most horrific experiences with regard to our first accommodations.

After searching the web and finding the “Red Carpet Inns & Suites” on Kitchener Street, and reviewing the pictures of their facilities and rooms we called and reserved a room for Friday, May 28th (the birthday).

The motel area was more industrial and bit run down. When we checked in at the front desk we were charged $168.00 including tax for the one night and this was paid via a VISA charge card.

When we entered the room it was dark, the carpet near the door was badly frayed, the toilet was belching every 3 minutes and when turning on the bathroom light the fan would automatically start with a horrible racket. There was no remote for the TV and nor cable and it hadn't been dusted in weeks. The soaps in the bathroom were from another hotel and you could actually see through the toilet paper. In addition, there was a notice on the door that the room had been approved by the local regulatory board but the expiration date was April, 2003. Further and foremost, some chemical had been used to clean the room which caused my fiancee’s eyes to water, get extremely itchy, irritated and red. She was immediately congested.

We were in the room for no more than 5 minutes and decided to leave as the conditions were not pleasant. When out for a walk all her reactions cleared up. We came across Victoria Inn which advertised rates from $49 and up. We stopped in and were told that for Friday night at a cost of $139 we could have a room with a Jacuzzi and we were given pictures of the rooms and even an opportunity to see the room prior to our booking.

Given her allergic reaction and the unacceptable conditions, we returned to the Red Carpet Inns & Suites (wherein we notice 3 bus loads of teenage children unloading and registering) and explained the problem, mainly the allergic reaction to the cleaning compound and indicated we could not stay there and requested our money back. They indicated that regularly they use various chemicals on different rooms and suggested that we look at another room (that had not been chemically treated) We mentioned the teenagers and the desk clerk assured us that none of them where in the block of where the new proposed room was.

We went into the next room and the conditions were still unacceptable. Conditions were relatively the same except a musty dank odor was apparent and she experienced the same reactions and furthermore, the teenagers had rooms all round that area so they were less than honest.

When we returned to the front desk, they still refused to provide a refund and rudely stated that “it was strange that 100’s of people have stayed in those rooms and she was the only one that had a reaction”.

We subsequently stayed at the Victoria Rd. Inn that night and the next. The cost of the room for Friday night, which included a Jacuzzi was much less, the room was clean, the inn well maintained. We had a most enjoyable stay.

I read all these horrible reviews but decided to check the place out for myself anyway. The place is the cheapest in Niagara Falls. It ain't in the most beautiful section of town. It's not right on the falls. You don't get room service. They don't sweep under the beds.

But what you do get is a fairly comfortable and reasonably clean place to sleep and clean up. For me, this was perfect! Management was fantastic and helped out on several occasions. I got to save money that allowed me to enjoy the sites and what Niagara Falls is really about. I recommend it for the thrifty traveler not looking for luxury, but just a place to rest up and get going for the next day.

Oh, and, yeah. The TV did not have a remote control nor does it go above Channel 13. That's definitely a bummer and was the only thing that really ---- about my stay. But, I was out most of the time, anyway, s it didn't really matter. I didn't drive to Niagara Falls to watch TV.

We stayed at the Red Carpet Inn in September of 2004 for my birthday. It ruined our trip and was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed. It took us some time to even find the place because it is completely out of the way behind a Kraft cheese factory. When we arrived, we were placed in a room not actually connected to the hotel at all, but across the street. The bathroom was moldy and dirty and had obviously not been cleaned before our arrival. The TV didn't have a remote and only had 3 channels. The chair in the room was at one point in it's life green, we think, but the huge stains covering it could have clouded our judgement. The bed was the worse part- it was sunk so low that we could see the bottom of the headboard. My boyfriend began repacking the car when a staff person - all Indians who did not speak great english - saw us and offered us the room next door instead. It was just as bad. He showed us 1 more room above the green and dirty pool. It smelt awful and the AC kept us awake all night. The next day when we walked to the falls (parking is expensive along the falls) we were exhausted by the time we actually got there! It was impossible to have a stroll down to ... anywhere.
Would not recommend this place to anybody. I would even venture to say that the "good" reviews were written by the staff's family members.
It left us scared to ever book a hotel online again.

Bare bones and semi-cheap for the area, but still over-priced. Rooms are clean, but the carpets are filthy. Our feet and socks turned nearly black from walking around in the room. No iron & board, no hair dryer, no TV remote, and no alarm clock. Small fridge and microwave costs extra and were not there the first night as requested. We had to wait until the next morning to get them. Watch out what you plug in the room or running multiple electrical items at once. We learned after we tripped the breaker once and power to the whole room went out.

The room was HOT when we arrived and took hours to cool off after turning on the A/C. The cleaning staff turned off the A/C on us the first day, so the room was hot again when we returned in the evening. We had to leave a note the next day telling them not to turn it off.

The pool was clean although somewhat cold. Most of the numerous 1960's style chairs around the pool were broken. The pool closes at 9:00pm, but they didn't kick us out when we stayed a bit later (9:30pm).

The service was okay, but slow. We were always told something would be taken care of in five minutes, but it usually took nearly an hour or more.

A definite plus is that it is a short walk to the main attractions. The area appeared safe even when we were walking back at nearly midnight.

BE AWARE of your quoted rate!! Get a quote in Canadian dollars - NOT U.S.!! Upon arrival, the clerk converted our quoted rate in U.S. dollars to Canadian using their own exchange rate and processed my card in Canadian dollars. After checking my credit card statement, I found I was charged more than 10.5% above the rate I was quoted. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company.

After seeing the numerous hotels, motels, and B&B's in the area, I believe a better rate can be found at a better establishment. I chalk this one up to experience, and I will not stay here again.

We came to Niagara Falls the second weekend of September for a little romantic getaway, came to the Red Carpet, found the neighborhood run down and many people just kind of stumbling around, well we still gave it a shot. Went in and checked in, were given room 303 first, with the Heart Shaped Jacuzzi, went to check out the room, ashes everywhere in room, trash on top of the tv, tub was dirty, room smelled and bathroom was not clean. Also you had no space in this room, it was one with the black tile around the tub but was so small you could barely move, not like the pictures at all.

Went to front desk to request a refund and leave, they gave us a key to a 'suite'. This basically consisted of a room in another building, one with two rooms and a bathroom. The front room was a jacuzzi room, fairly large and recently re-done, bathroom was reasonable but room still smelled and wasn't clean. Also very large party going on across the balconies with people drunk, loud music and literally 60 or so people wandering around at 8 pm on a Friday night. Decided then and there this wasn't the hotel for us.

Went to front desk for refund, they were very reluctant, stating this was a 'non-refundable' package deal, so told them credit card company would be called to reject charges, so they voided the slip out.

Found the Days Inn near the falls a much more acceptable choice, they also had rooms readily available, secure parking, etc.

Never mind the thread counts...what you should be concerned about is the spider count! Make sure you have your cell phone with you as you won't be able to make local, 1-800 or calling card calls. The general condition of the room was filthy. The ceiling looked like it was about to cave in at any time. The carpet, furniture and beds looked like they were bought at a thrift store. The hotel property is in a poor section of town and I'm quite surprised that I didn't witness any drug deals going down. The pool was closed pending an EPA investigation of what was floating in it. Wash rags are issued at the front desk upon request and will not be laundered for you by housekeeping!?!?!? All glass surfaces were streaked and the tv had no remote. If you want to stay in a dirty, insect infested hotel where Moe, Tipu, and Habib are your cruise directors...then the Red (brown) Carpet Inn Fallsway is for you. Any good reviews must be coming from the owners.
