Detailed Reviews
We stayed here 2 nights in January 2020. I’ll break this review down into 3 sections as my title suggests.
The good:
They offer 2 room suites which is awesome for families. The location is awesome as it’s right across from the water park and the casino. The price is great for those travelling on a budget but want amenities as there is a pool and a sauna and free breakfast (which was not bad)
TVs are flat screen I wanna say 40-42 inch. Free wifi, free parking.
The staff ware amazing
The bad:
They do not offer king beds. The queen bed wasn’t overly comfy. This hotel desperately needs a policy (because some parents suck as these same kids in question were also playing on the elevators) about scooters, Segways, balance boards roller skates, bikes, etc in the breakfast area as this area becomes way too crowded for this nonsense.
The Ugly
The rooms are on desperate need of major renovating. Wall paper is pealing, carpet is from the seventies beds are rough. The hot tub is literally unusable as it is broken.
Overall it’s an interesting hotel that could be very nice if the owners were willing to spend a few bucks. The New Orleans feel is very cool. If you’re not planning on being in your room a whole lot but want separate space from your kids this place is good. If you need new higher end finishes, I’d say go to the elsewhere.

We picked this hotel because of coupons for beer tasting (it really was just a taste) and casino promotion and the free breakfast. It was very inexpensive and now I understand the reason for the budget price. You cannot beat the location and parking is free. When you enter you see a formerly good hotel that needs to put some real money into renovations.
There were many families sitting around in the centre court with kids enjoying the pool. I also saw many families at breakfast. The front desk staff were professional and cordial. The rooms are very tired with threadbare rugs and furniture, very creased linens, stained bathroom floor grout and bath mat. Having said that the room was clean and the shower was good. In the morning I saw the cleaning staff with their carts were piled high with clean linen and clearly they were doing their jobs. The hall rugs are also threadbare an in need of replacement which adds to the tired feel.
The free breakfast was minimal. Powdered eggs, sausage patties, toast, cereal, juice, coffee and tea. Based on my travel experience, I would have expected more variety.
There are lots of hotel options in Niagara Falls. Next time I will opt to pay a bit more for, hopefully, a better accommodation experience. This is truly a budget hotel.

We booked here for a 24 hour escape, perfect for the money!
The room furnishings were dated but clean, linens were spotless. We prefer the 'old' casino and this hotel is very close to it and Clifton Hill. So a short walk, free parking (we were allowed to keep our car in the lot after check out as well) and hot breakfast included made this easy and economical.

This past weekend my family and I decided to get away and go to Niagara Falls. My hotel of choice was always the Clifton Victoria Inn (Formerly Hampton) The location was superb, free parking etc. For years now the hotel has had no upgrades what so ever..I overlooked this for years due to the location, free breakfast etc... When we checked in, for starters, our cards did not work for the room. We left, came back a few hours later and that was fixed. The condition of the room was horrible. Ripped Wall Paper, light fixture coming off the walls, disgusting toilet set. The room had a horrible smell of wet old carpet to it. Every hour or so I was spraying an air freshener..... Upon check-in, I had asked the lady to get the "tourist tax" removed upon checkout. She said sure just let us know. When checking out, a different lady was there and pretty much told me its a resort fee and it has to be charged? A resort fee? This place is anything but a resort.... At that point, I was not even going to bother to argue for the 20 some odd dollars. I handed in my cards and left. Carpets are old, only one elevator working, the place is horribly run down. I can't stress that enough. It used to be a family favourite, but that was during the Hampton Days when things were "kept up" Do yourself a favour and find a newer more modern hotel that cares about their guests. And one last thing, the lady during checkout did not even ask me how my stay was, or how was the room. The hallways had NO A/C in them, and only a few lights in the parking lot worked. Sure makes you feel safe parking your car there at night.
Just stay away people.

We just came back from a 3-night stay celebrating my 50th birthday, and will not return here. It was so much nicer when it was The Hampton Inn.
With pros such as clean, friendly staff, free WIFI, free parking, free breakfast, tea/coffee all day in the main area, it has many cons as follows:
The regular rooms do not include fridges, even though we asked several times for one - or even an extra ice bucket - when you get there you may get on a list for one. Really??? Neither was available to us. We had to alternate with our small cooler and bathroom sink.
The common areas and rooms need some kind of updating, as they are very dated with worn carpets and dirty/peeling ceilings and walls. Blankets and sheets had various spots/stains on them.
Each night they turn off all the front & middle main common area lights whereas creating a safety issue if you need to walk around (was dark).
Noisy with common area and pool in the open middle area. Didn't mind so much if some weren't yelling, or parents supervised their children.
It was an experience.

We reserved a SUITE for Aug 14/21 . When we arrived we were informed that the suites were not available and that we would have to accept a standard room, this is noon on a Saturday, so we took the room. We assumed since we had ordered a suite that we had paid a suite rate but no discount was offered. This is room 320 and be advised the wall paper was peeling off the wall, the carpet was in poor condition. there was a hole in the wall and the fire sprinkler in the bathroom was siliconed in. We have stayed here in the past and considered it a good clean motel. NOT SO must be new owners.......... the place is a DUMP!!!!! My advice is stay clear............... Terry Walters

+1
BLACK MOLD!!! GROWSE!!! Very disappointed in the cleanliness of this place! For the price of almost $200 a night this is what I would imagine you get for 50$ a night.
First the bed had black scuff marks and a hair on the pillow. Then the other bed had some clear looking hardened nastiness all over it that I can only imagine what it was.
Clearly the mirror in bathroom was never washed as when the bathroom steamed up a name appeared on the mirror "cage" The countertop had tons of what looks like someone used it to open their beers.
The floor had mold from the tub sealant and grout was disgusting or non existent. The toilet is over 25 years old and almost overflows when flushed. There was a giant hole Underneath the sink where plumbing is.
The lamp shade had red splatters on it. Rust around all the fixtures. Pot lights had no covers on them. Wallpaper peeling, carpet lifting, staples on carpet exposed. Curtains were absolutely filthy disgusting dirty. No fridge, no view of outside. Very old tv channels.
The hotel was falling apart the pictures advertised are outdated and staged. Would also like to note even knowing I was bringing my toddler with me you would think more effort would go into cleaning the room for safety for the child.
Cage if you read this respond with when you signed your name I'm curious!

A great location. A 5-minute walk to Clifton Hill and a 5 min walk to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. We chose this hotel because they offered a package that included passes to the Indoor Waterpark. As for the hotel, it's less than desirable. It looks nice on the outside but outdated on the inside. The curtains had a 1970s look to them. There was no bar fridge in the hotel room. The room was not cleaned properly as we found a wrapper behind the night table. I discovered the phone jack was not plugged in so I proceeded to do that. They do not have cable TV but they use an HDTV antenna to capture the channels from across the river. There are no children's channels. Bringing a tablet and connecting to wifi for your children would be the suggestion. The shower pressure was really good. The bathroom sink required Draino because the water was backing up and would take 5 minutes to go down. The full breakfast was ok with eggs, sausages, bread, English muffins milk, juices, tea, coffee and etc. but no waffles. The milk was nice and cold. The breakfast area was a good size but crowded because they had 4 toasters with 4 slices each. Each toaster had 2 slices that were not working and the one that was working only toasted one of your bread so you would have to flip it over to toast both sides. This causes large lineups. The servers working the breakfast area were very nice. The front desk was nice and allowed us to leave our bags with them before we checked in. One night is enough.

The main positive of this hotel is that the location is quite convenient right beside Clifton hill, which is the entertainment route of Niagara Falls Ontario. The staff was hard working but very strict. They don't provide exceptions for guests and rely on exact timing. We arrived a bit early but they still gave us passes for nearby waterpark after an hour. The passes were included with my hotel package and should not rely on timing if its an hour difference. Well one good thing is the staff tried to give us a suitable room with the view we wanted. The hotel from outside looks like a abandoned coffin but the inside is unique! Indoors are styled as a resort providing a good ambience. Elevators/lifts are a bit Franky at times, which might get you worried, stick to the stairs if you have a lower floor. Breakfast was included but very blank? They should provide more options for the fellow guests. If they cant afford more at least try to make eggs tasty! Talking about the room itself was a nice size and mostly clean. Only thing I would say is adding more cosmetics for the bathroom. Also upgrading the electronics located in the room. The view from my room was nice tho. Overall average stay at the falls not too bad but not too good either I guess.

When we checked in the room was very old and dated and had a funny smell, the hot breakfast buffet was egg sausages, no fruit or anything just bread. The swimming pool is in the middle of the court yard so don’t plan on having any fun we had 3 kids and my husband who was playing and within 2 minutes the manager came and said people are complaining which could be true but very poorly designed, so they should have silent area so no one can converse. The elevator make weird noises so I am paranoid to use them. Overall I will never be back, it’s not what I remember it to be.

No mini fridge in room we had. Can't remember if there was a coffee maker.
There didn't used to be until July when hotels were forced to charge ANOTHER tax. This is probably cheaper than others after the taxes as they do not charge ALL the rip off taxes. An example of a ripoff is Days Inn $55 ....total after every tax imaginable $109. Yes just short of 100% taxes on top
You need to check their website or call them for this information. It is a nice place. About a 8 min walk to the falls. This hotel is on the top of the hill, so if walking up/down hill is a problem, you may want to check elsewhere.
About 15 minutes walking to view the US Falls, 25 to the closeup of the Canadian falls. It is a nice walk once you get past the Carnival atmosphere of the town, the park like setting along the falls is quite nice. It is a bit of a steep walk back to the hotel.
