Detailed Reviews
We just returned from a 2 night stay. It was my husband and our 6 and 9 year old kids and my sister and her 8 and 13 year old sons. We got the BOGO sale and decided to splurge for the 2 bedroom suite. It was totally worth it!! I requested that our rooms were next door to each other and they accommodated us. We arrived at 1230 and were able to get an early check in and my sister checked into her room around 130, so no complaints there!
The waterpark is small but my eyes weren't burning from the chlorine like other waterparks and it wasn't blazing hot either. It's small enough that you can easily keep an eye on the kids as they run around. My kids loved the slides and the pool and especially loved it when the waves turned on. We rented the cabana the first day for $130. Not worth it at all, but we thought we would splurge. Sunday was a great day to arrive because it seemed like alot of people were checking out so the pool wasn't busy. You can order food and drinks to the cabana and they hold $100 on your tab and you can deduct drinks and food from it. Bought the kids 4 pina colada drinks and it was $30! Beer was reasonable at $7.00 for a pint.
The room was awesome! I was really surprised with how spacious it was, it was very clean and the kids loved having their own room. We had a ground floor room so it was easy to run out to the car and grab something if we needed it.
Kids went to the arcade the last day, and as others mentioned, several games weren't working but it was fine to kill an hour.
Overall, I would definitely go back! Aiming for the summer as apparently there are alot of activities and outdoor bbqs people can use. Highly recommend!

This facility is a one stop shop. It is a hotel, waterpark, restaurant, cafe and an arcade. It's fine for a short stay - say three days. The hotel itself is clean, maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is however a bit dated and needs a fair bit of refreshing. The waterpark consists of five maine areas.Three slide areas for people of varying heights (kids to adults). There is a wave pool (10 minutes every 30 minutes approx), a connected smaller pool (warmer too) and a "kiddies" pool. Connected to the waterpark is an arcade and a snack bar. There is also showers and change rooms as well as lockers for rent ($2 for large and $1 for small). Canadian prices of course.
There is a Boston Pizza restaurant on sight and a breakfast restaurant called Fields that serves and extensive buffet.
As you can see there is little need to go out if you are there for a few days of pool and arcade. Having said that one has to realise that this is Niagara Falls so the prices for EVERYTHING are higher than normal (2018 breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids under 5 at IHOP was $100) so keep that in mind.

I attended the Americana resort for one night on December 30-31, 2019.
Upon arrival, there was a long line to check in, however, staff were making kids balloon animals, paw patrol characters in costume, and handing out free apps from Boston pizza.
Once I was checking in, I was asked if I would like a room close to the waterpark. I questioned if it was a loud area, and the lady replied no. I ended up with room 122, which is near the waterpark. I would not recommend the rooms on the main level near the waterpark. Our glass balcony door was in the parking lot, so no privacy to keep window open. Plus, it was noisy when people locked their vehicles. The room is also very loud for people walking and yelling in the hallway. It was constant until about midnight. The walls are very thin, and everything in the hallway echoed in.
The room itself was clean and probably typical of a 2-3 star hotel. Also, they do not have individual shampoo, conditioner, and bars of soap. Just a generic body and hair wash in one. It made my hair feel like straw, I’d bring your own.
There is a Boston pizza on site, which was excellent. There is a breakfast restaurant on site, but we never ate there.
The waterpark was smaller then expected. But it was perfect for us, as we were travelling with small kids. I feel like older kids would get bored quickly.
The arcade was awful. It was expensive and many of the games were not working.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I would stay at the Americana again, however I would opt for a room on the second or third floor.

BOGO deal had us staying two nights. Myself, 5 and 3 year old. My booking was supposed to include tickets to Bird Kingdom it was not added. We booked directly from their own site. Check in was easy as we arrived after 4pm. No unloading of luggage allowed in front lobby. When we checked in the internet was reported as being spotty by the provider. First morning I decided to use the fitness centre on the third floor. Machines were not all working. No towels at all and no spray cleaner. Also the bathroom had not been cleaned and the toilet was overflowed with feces. I alerted cleaning staff. At midnight we were evacuated by a fire alarm, and sat in our running cars for 30 minutes. Other guests were able to check on return times and alert us. Breakfast bar was EXPENSIVE, and basically continental at any American chain hotel. The coffee shop in the lobby is a joke! No attendant. I tried unsuccessfully three times to order coffee. Boston Pizza is also the room service provider as well as the attached restaurant. We could not get them to answer the phone to place a room service order and ended up having to physically order (in our swimsuits, as we wanted supper after our Waterpark visit). Following morning we were awakened by service workers checking the smoke detectors. Our room had a bar fridge which froze my salad/dressing and a litre of cream I had placed inside. Over all we would return again as the Waterpark is the perfect size for my children and the provided life jackets are ideal. I would hope that staff was better prepared for an influx of guests during a BOGO promotion. I would have expected lacking services during busy in season times, not during the week in February.

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your recent stay but appreciate your feedback. The BOGO deal does not include Bird Kingdom tickets but can be purchased separately at the front desk. Upon check in our staff will direct you for the best place to park for unloading as the front doors would not be ideal for your room location. We are sorry you did not enjoy the hot and cold all you can eat breakfast buffet. The fridge will not both keep you ice cream frozen without freezing your lettuce as well. We are sorry that your stay was not as carefree as one would hope. We are glad that the kids enjoyed the water park and we look forward to serving you again as our valued guests.

The price seemed good, so we booked. We tried to make the best of it, but....the water park is for very very little kids (from infant to 3 years max) we had 7, 5 and 4 years old, they were bored after 5 mins. The water was dirty, and over-chlorinated, eyes and throats were effected so bad, could be felt the next day. Even adults who didn't go in the water but walked into the water park, eyes were so sore! The lifeguards were very rude and only advised after going down slide two times that child needed a life jacket (same lifeguard each time). The rooms were clean enough, not much wrong with them, the breakfast buffet was a joke, so tiny but we were willing to try it, until we received unnecessary attitude from the hostess about needing a table for 8, we were given the impression that we were inconveniencing her, so we left and went to Al Mac's buffet for half the cost. Every single entrance/exit doors to parking lot, reeked like cigarettes and most hallways reeked like marijuana. Would not return, we will spend the extra and enjoy fallsview or Great Wolf Lodge !

We are sorry that you are disappointed with your stay. The water park is certainly ideal for younger children like yours. We do have 2 tube slides, 2 body slides, wave pool, small activity pool area and an area for the very young children with several small slides. We certainly hope that you will reconsider and give us another chance to serve you again in the future.

Stayed this weekend for a dance event. Although there is plenty of parking, an event like this makes parking a premium. This discouraged us from leaving the property but there are several restaurants near by including Tim Hortons and Starbucks.
Check in was very quick. They were even able to get us enough room keys, as everyone in my family had different duties to do during the weekend.
Hotel staff was always friendly.
Hotel had a lot of bathrooms available outside of the rooms, as well.
Hotel wifi was very shoddy at best. You couldn't always get a good connection, even early in the morning, when most people are sleeping. We noticed that throughout the day, the connection would drop.
Our hotel room had a microwave and a mini-fridge, which we used to store our drinks. We did notice that the mattresses did not give enough support, and the sofa bed mattress was also in need of renewal. The room doesn't have enough outlets and we had to share to charge our devices. In addition to this, the walls were paper thin, so you could hear the pack of elephants running in the hallways or your neighbours whenever they got up.
The breakfast voucher wasn't enough to cover our whole family, and we had to pay an addition $50 each day. It is cheaper to eat elsewhere.
On the day of checkout, we called early in the morning for a late check out, which we were charged. However, our cards became deactivated, this happened twice. Checking out was fine, no issues.

We booked as soon as COVID restrictions allowed us. We have 4 kids under 12, one adult child and two adults. I called ahead to the front desk to make sure kids would have access to the Waterpark. The front desk person said yes, and they are only allowing 20% capacity at the water park and hotel. Perfect! Booked the biggest baddest room we could which was the Mermaid and Pirate suite with 2 bunk beds, a queen and 2 bathrooms. Sweet. For the one night with tax and one extra waterpark pass (the room includes 6) we paid $475.00.
When we get there (just before 4 o’clock check in) we were told there would be a waiting list for the water park! What!?! I called ahead and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. We got settled in, went downstairs and found out there were 21 families ahead of us for use of the waterpark. So we brought all the kids back up to the hotel room. We were not happy. We got a call around 6:30 pm that we could come, so we stayed until 8:30 that evening.
The reason I am giving 4 stars is because THE STAFF were incredible. My spouse went to talk to the manager and after a bit of back and forthing they gave us a later check out (2 pm) and free use of the waterpark ALL the next day. On top of that, the front desk staff, waterpark staff and managers were dealing with a lot of angry patrons. From what I saw every single one of them were courteous in the face of dealing with not being open for the past year and a half and were so gracious. I also spoke to cleaning staff in the halls and although they were stressed they were very kind.
Although I think Americana made a big mistake in miscommunicating use of the waterpark (it still says hotel guests have FULL use of the waterpark on their website) which to me is misleading, the staff and managers had no control over this and were absolutely incredible. Well done! I’m sure you dealt with a lot and I want you to know you did a great job. Americana let people know there will be a wait list so they can plan accordingly please!
It is because of the awesome staff that we will be back!

I wasn’t happy at all.
I accidentally left the card key in the room so I went to the front desk and told them that. Then they just asked me the room # And gave me another key card. Not asking my name or any info. Felt like anybody can get in the room. We booked and checked in with our friends name that we went with and I came late so there’s no way that they know that I stay in that room.
Also, our room toilet and our friend’s room sink were constantly clogging.
As for swimming pool, Little kids pool was soooo cold but they don’t let us bring our kids to the hot tub even with the parents. (GWL has a hot tub that we can bring kids). In the morning, the swimming pool and the arcade open only at 10am but other than the swimming pool and arcade there’s nothing for kids to enjoy.

We are sorry your are disappointed and thank you for letting us know about your experience. We do take your comments seriously and have retrained and reviewed with all the front desk staff on proper procedures to ensure this does not happen again. I am sorry you are disappointed that we do not let young children in the hot tub but this is for health and safety reasons as well there is a height restriction for the children's safety as well. We certainly hope that you will consider staying with us again on your return visit to Niagara Falls.

I purchased day Passes through living Social with the expiry date of June 2020. Before contacting Living Social I contacted the Americana Resort and spoke with the manager. I still wanted to give them business and let them know that I would support them when this was over. Much to my surprise this manager did not budge. She stated that any expired voucher would only be accepted at face value and we would have to pay the difference to full price when we were able to safely swim in their waterpark. She stated thats the way its always been without any compromise due to this Corona Viirus.

Our first off property vacation since Covid and very disappointed. We stayed one day with the intention to book another day depending how we felt regarding staying at a hotel during the pandemic. My family and I didn’t not feel very confident in there cleaning practices and would not recommend another stay maybe several months later until they can have a procedure well in place. Hand Sanitizer were not enough or not visible, found staff squeezing in elevator with my family of four making social distancing impossible. The most disturbing is the Waterpark. No greeter at entrance to inform guest of covid expectations nor to ensure hand sanitation before entrance. There isn’t any floor markings leading to slides to ensure proper spacing between groups, tubes were not wiped down before next guest use. In the full 3 hrs we were there I saw 1 water park staff clean a table. I would definitely increase cleaning frequency to wipe and sanitize tables. With the lack of care it got me concerned about the hotel rooms. Hopefully, Americana read this review and make changes as my kids loved going to this hotel prior the pandemic.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for your disappointment. There is hand sanitizer throughout the hotel including at the entrance of the hotel, at each Front desk station, by each elevator and other high traffic areas throughout the hotel including several in the Snack Bar, Arcade and Water Park. Chlorine is used to sanitize the tubes and staff in the water park do remind guests of social distancing. Signs are placed on the tables once they are sanitized from the previous guest using the table. Red markers are on the stairs for social distancing leading up to the slides. The hotel does have strict protocols in place and make cleanliness a high priority for everyone's health and safety. I will address with our team that they should wait for an empty elevator if several people are in it and I thank you for bringing this to our attention. We certainly want you to feel safe and hope you will return again as our valued guests in the future.

Not sure, we did not use the Waterpark
Yes You may. Let the desk know you are there and away you go. There are change rooms and lockers available (there is a nominal charge for the lockers). You can also use the facilities after you check out.
Hope this helps.
Yes, there are lockers but the change area is not big, so if there's a place to store your valuables elsewhere, I would recommend that so as not to be disappointed in not getting a locker.
No but it's included in a charge which they add on as a mandatory fee.
