This historic residence was absolutely lovely…just as lovely as the hosts. Rooms are cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The whole ambience is quiet, peaceful elegance. As this was a special anniversary celebration for us, the host Howard and his wife made it a special one. Thanks so much…we miss your delicious breakfasts already! P.S….just leave your car parked in the drive. You can easily walk from this home to the centre of the town within minutes.

How often do you find every aspect of your B&B experience top notch? From the moment I stepped in the door and was greeted by my hosts Yolanta & Howard, to the quality and ambience of the entire home & gardens, the room furnishings, the complimentary beverage fridge, and especially the fabulous breakfasts, I could not have enjoyed my stay more. Location of the Historic Lyons House is ideal...short walking distance to everything. My stay there for a two-day golf trip was too short. I will return soon, but with my wife next time for a romantic get-away. Highly recommended!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary in Niagara-On-The-Lake as my wife booked this establishment. I had no expectations as I was given little detail except that it had very good reviews and my only job was to follow the directions on the GPS to get us there.

There is ample parking for guests and when we went inside, we were greeted by Howard. He was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Made us feel welcome immediately.

Our room was cozy with a powder room ensuite and we had a FULL and LARGE size bathroom as our main. Jacuzzi tub, stand up shower and enough room to throw a football!

After checking in, Howard asked us what our itinerary was and give us suggests on where to have lunch and dinner. All his suggestions were wonderful.

As for breakfast... HOLY (bleep) it was DELICIOUS and filling. Started off with a berry yogurt parfait which was absolutely splendid and refreshing. Then we all had a croissant which reminded me of being back in Paris again. Our main was eggs benedict with pea meal bacon. THAT WAS HEAVEN!!! Truth be told, I am definitely not a breakfast person... but if I had this everyday... I'd be a converted man!

To me... the breakfast alone was worth it!

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who values hospitality, cleanliness and luxury.

This place is gorgeous, and under ordinary circumstances I would give it 5 stars. It's convenient, the breakfasts are great, and the rooms - especially downstairs - are unbelievable.

However, Jolanta is unwelcoming and moody, and her chilly attitude made us feel very uncomfortable. We felt as if we were intruding, and she made us feel as if we shouldn't be there. And so we won't be, ever again!!

Headed to NOTL over Easter weekend and stayed at the Historic Lyons House, Friday night. Jolanta and Howard were beyond accommodating, particularly in light of the fact that this was Easter and they themselves had plans. My partner and I return to the Lyons House because we know our expectations will be exceeded. Lovely appointed rooms, personable and accommodating owners and sensational breakfast! Thanks Howard and Jolanta. See you, again, Lyons House.

Howie and Yolanta are wonderful hosts. We stayed at Historic Lyons House for a long weekend in May 2013 and had the best time even though the weather was miserable. The food was fantastic and you could tell that they put a lot of thought into what we would enjoy. Howie and Yolanta make their guest feel like part of their family. Suggestions on local attractions and intel on the wineries were awesome.
We are looking forward to staying with them again soon.

My wife and I stayed at the Lyons house last month for a weekend of wineries and the Shaw. The location is perfect: About 11 minute walk to the festival theatre; across the street from the park; four blocks to the main street. You can park your car and forget it if you are visiting town. The wineries are all within a short drive.
Very well maintained rooms and grounds. Lots of places to sit and relax.
The hosts were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Couldn't ask for anything more.

First impressions are lasting impressions. The Historic Lyons House captured us with its beautiful trees, well kept gardens and a picturesque structure which takes you back in time. Historic Lyons House is located within a short walk to the downtown area of NOTL and Shaw Festival venues. We were warmly greeted and welcomed by hosts Howard and Yolanta who made us feel like we had been here before. The house is tastefully decorated and well maintained. Our spacious room, with an ensuite bathroom, was well furnished and quite functional. Breakfast each morning was an experience in itself. From the aroma radiating from the kitchen, the fresh fruit, juice and preserves or the elegance of the dining room, we were pampered by our hosts. Howard and Yolanta shared time with us and added tips and ideas to our itinerary.
They are not only your hosts, they are VERY active in the NOTL community as well.
We immensely enjoyed our stay at Historic Lyons House and look forward to visiting again.
Congratulations Howard and Yolanta, on 15 years as hosts to the guests who passed through your door. May there be many more.

The house is lovely, the rooms are very nice and comfortable, breakfasts delicious but more than this the hosts are so helpful and gracious that you feel like you are staying in the home of wonderful friends. Restaurant suggestions, reservations, ideas of what to do, done better than a concierge of any hotel I've stayed in. We had a truly wonderful and relaxing stay. This is perfect couples get away. Trip advisor really works. Niagara on the Lake is beautiful.

We spent 3 nights at the Historic Lyons House in June when visiting NOTL to attend the Shaw festival. We have visited NOTL many times but this was the first time we stayed at the Lyons. It was delightful. The house is lovely, the accommodations clean and comfortable and the location is central and an easy walk to the theatres. The breakfasts prepared by Howard were wonderful! Also he provided lots of helpful tips on restaurants, wineries and local points of interest. We will definitely return.
