Went to a wedding in NOTL. Stayed at the Moffat Inn. Great location, very nice room with 2 double beds. Had everything you needed. Nice washroom, safe, iron, coffer maker. Bed was very comfortable & also the pillows. Would stay there again.
My daughter and I stayed at Moffat Inn for 2 nights from Dec 24-26. The good part. We had a lovely room with two double beds and a nice view. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows (there were four on each bed plus two cushions) were just as comfy. Now, the bad. Upon check-in, my daughter's credit card was double charged. There was no bottled water in the fridge so I called the front dest. Phone in the room did not work so I had to call the front desk using my cell phone. Front desk informed me that it must be one of the busted phones but never offered to fix it. I asked if they could send me bottled water. He replied that they don't do that and I should go down and get one from the restaurant below or buy from one of the convenience stores. Again, I asked "what about a pitcher of water" He replied that they used to do that before but they no longer do it. So my daughter and I went to get bottled water ourselves. It was upon our return that they decided to provide us with two bottled water. A bottled water that cost $1.97 a case in most grocery stores will go a long towards good customer service considering the price per night stay in this inn. The coffee dispenser was dusty and dirty. I wiped it clean myself but, as expected, the coffee tasted horrible . It probably was never cleaned with a descaling agent. I also had to call the front desk (again, using my cell phone) because they failed to provide cream in sugar. We stayed two nights and yet, we were provided one itty bitty soap not enough for one let alone two people. The ice dispenser and vending machine were not working either. Nice location, good room but will I come back, the answer is no. For the type of service and accommodation, it is overpriced. Staff nonchalant attitude reflect very poor customer service. For those with health challenges like bad knees, this inn is not for you because it has no elevator and the stairs are steep. They did credit my daughter $50 on check-out for the inconvenience of being charged twice. According to my daughter, their way of apology, from their facial expression and demeanour sounded hollow and insincere that my daughter commented, "they would have been better off not apologizing."…
Room 117 The quality of the room wasn’t what I expected of the “vintage hotel” brand. It was definitely more run down than vintage. Half the plugs didn’t work in the room. The one that worked was missing a plate and half out of the wall, tv was broken and the heat couldn’t turn off. The place was clean and the staff were amazing. The location was also spot on. The owners should invest into the rooms a lot more to live up to the brand though.
My four daughters and I came to stay at the Moffat Inn for my birthday weekend. We enjoyed our stay very much and the service we received, especially from Pratik at the front desk was exemplary. We will be back again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Moffat Inn. Great location...comfy room and CAA rate is accepted there. It would be nice to have on site breakfast yet walking to the town was very manageable. The staff was very friendly. Niagara on the Lake is such a beautiful town to visit. We will return.
