Everyone who makes regular trips to Niagara-on-the-Lake has a favourite Bed-and-Breakfast. Victoria Gables is ours. Covid has not undermined the quality of the experience one bit. During our 2-night stay this week, we felt just as safe, cared for and spoiled for choices as we did before the pandemic. And don’t be put off by the sometimes frozen reservations calendar; although the website appeared inoperative, Victoria Gables' owner responded immediately to my email and accommodated our schedule enthusiastically. From arrival to departure, every minute of our stay was a delight. From the welcome plate of home-baked shortbread to the departure doggy bag of award-worthy cranberry orange scones, we were showered with kindness, amazing cooked breakfasts, luxurious bedding, incomparable cleanliness and old-fashioned charm. Victoria Gables is the best B&B in NOTL.…
We are 5 friends and have stayed at Victoria Gables for the last 5 years. The house is very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and Sandy was very accommodating regarding some dietary issues. We would highly recommend this property.
This lovely B&B is located on a quiet street and is within easy walking distance of theatres, shops and restaurants. It is beautifully decorated, with comfortable and inviting common areas and spacious bedrooms. It offers delicious breakfasts and awesome hospitality! We definitely plan to return next year, and we would not hesitate in recommending this excellent B&B to others!
We really enjoyed Sandy's warm hospitality. Enjoyed tea and scones on the verandah after a long drive. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable--perfect for us. Delicious breakfast. We felt right at home.
My husband and I have spent our wedding anniversary in the beautiful area of Niagara-on-the-lake in August 2019. We were looking for a bed & breakfast located at a walking distance from the Old District, and close enough to the wineries. We were extremely pleased with our decision to choose this place. Not only the property is so gorgeous, but the service was extraordinary. It shows when business people are fascinated by the work they do. We felt it all the way! Just a look at the property, inside and out, and you will notice the amount of work that is put into making this place so charming. The garden area is stunning and Jack goes the extra miles to make sure it remains like that. The décor inside the house is simply beautiful and each living area has something to catch your eyes, while remaining cozy and breathable. Sandra is a very charming person, extremely oriented to details and passionate about her bed & breakfast. She loves meeting new people and told us that her business gives her that great opportunity. She loves cooking… and in fact, she would even stay up late at night to prepare the breakfast. But not to worry… you would not know all of this work takes place while you are sleeping. And not only was the food excellent, but it was a memorable experience by itself! We felt like guests of honors in an important visit. You know what they say… you first eat with your eyes and that was so true. We were spoiled!!! We booked the Bow Room, which is the largest room, with a king bed and a view on the beautiful garden. We really appreciated the space and the fact that it was so quiet. Of course, the whole neighborhood is very quiet although located at walking distance from the main streets of bars, boutiques and restaurants. We even walked at night and used the flashlight provided by Sandra for that purpose. Because it was our first time in the area, we also appreciated Sandra’s recommendations on a few places to visit. We really enjoyed our time there and we will definitely be returning. This is definitely a place where you arrive as a guest and you leave as a friend. And we’re glad we could spend a little time with Sandra to enjoy our last morning breakfast before heading back home. We also enjoyed a bit of Harley, Sandra’s dog. He is so cute and once he got to know me… he adopted me! I did not mind at all and I am sure he would have enjoyed more of my presence!!! Or maybe it’s because I had Pepito with me! LOL! Thank you so much Sandra and Jack for your hospitality and for making our wedding anniversary so special! You certainly know how to treat your guests!…
