Stopped in after a long days drive. Everything was just okay, was clean enough, was comfortable enough. Was handy having both an indoor and outdoor entrance. Hotel was noisy when we were there. Location is good. Breakfast was minimal.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn in October. Well, I expected more for my money. The night in a single room with one queen size bed for 1! person cost me $ 95.20 !!!! I stayed in a lot of motels and I definitely stayed in rooms where I paid 30% less and still got the same quality of room AND continental breakfast was included as well as a bottle of water....... AND the service at the front desk was more welcoming than what I experienced at the Comfort Inn. At the Comfort Inn the towels were clean but thin like you would find them in cheap roadside motels.
Can you believe it.......$ 95.20 and they charge you for the bottle water ($2.99) and the continental breakfast ($2.99) on top!!!!! I think it is a rip-off.

Well I'm pretty easy going and my paise to the cleaning stuff - it was spotless clean!! BUT other than that - I rather would keep looking next time - to find a motel/hotel where I get what I pay for.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night in Late August. We were passing through North Bay on route to Ottawa. It was “very reasonably” priced compared to other hotels in North Bay – a good value for your stay. If you’re looking for a nice / safe place to stay – this hotel will suit your needs.

It is located directly just off the TransCanada Highway - a good location with easy access on, and off the highway. There are many restaurants in the immediate area - you’ll have no problem finding somewhere very close to dine.

The breakfast which is included with your stay is simple, but good enough – the usual breakfast items / waffles that you make yourself, no complaints.

We had a room on the second floor, which had two comfortable double beds, a good sized bathroom, everything worked fine - we had no issues at all. Overall, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

The front lobby staff were very accommodating, and very friendly. “Check In” and “Check Out” went very well – fast, efficient and no surprises.

The Wifi worked quite fine when we were there – with no problems.

Lastly, I would rate the hotel as “good” and a “very good value” – and Yes, I would stay here again.

Please enjoy your stay.

Just checked in and the room stinks. Not sure but could be cigarettes. Too tired to complain and move.

First clue should have been empty parking lot on a Friday night.

Other than that room seems clean.

Fan in bathroom very noisy and come on when you turn on the light. Sounds like a plane propeller.

Light in bathroom so dim you can hardly see yourself.

I checked into this Comfort Inn on January 31st and was not impressed with the first room they gave me. The computer chair was in such poor condition, it should have been thrown into a garbage dump a long time ago (it was bent backwards like a reclining chair - not reclined, but damaged - how can you work on your computer with a chair like that - the chair seat also had a large stain on it - no way was I going to use or sit in that filthy chair!). I took the chair to the front desk and they gave me a fairly new one which was behind the front desk to replace this defective and filthy dirty one). In addition to the defective/dirty chair, the sliding doors were in very poor condition; they are so worn out, that they did not operate properly.

Once I got back to the room with the replacement chair, I went to use the bathroom and noticed that the sink stopper was sitting on the sink counter rather than being in the drain at the bottom of the sink where it belongs. I then noticed how filthy dirty the sink was (hair, dirt, something that looked like spit/snot, etc.); I put water in the sink and it would not drain - the drain was fully blocked. How can they rent out a room in this condition? This plugged sink surely has been plugged for quite some time now (the drain entrance looked very gross - lots of spit, unknown debris, etc, in it). I then had enough and went to the front desk and complained about the condition of the room; the front desk clerk gave me the room next door to this room (she did apologize for the condition of the room).

The replacement room was much better, although I still had reservations about staying the night after what I just went through with the first room.

I left the hotel the following morning shortly after 6:00 am; there were two roofing contractor employees in the main lobby without face masks on - the front desk clerk was right behind the front desk, but did nothing about these two workers not wearing masks. HELLO; it's a requirement to wear masks in the Province of Ontario during this Covid-19 pandemic!

I have never been so happy to leave a hotel as I was when I checked out the following morning; I definitely will never return to this particular Comfort Inn in the future.

Arriving in North Bay late at night by car allowed us to "enjoy" the poorly marked road construction between highway 17 and the city center. We then opted to stay along 17 towards the west end of the city.

Desk staff seemed helpful enough but the walls and door of our second-floor room were unable to keep the slightest noise out. At night we can clearly hear lovemaking and televisions from neighboring rooms. In the morning one can hear every room and stairwell door open and shut.

If this were a sub-$100 room, it would be tolerable but at $147, it's costing us more to stay here than in the city center of Toronto a few days ago) or Montreal (yesterday).

But North Bay is the hometown of Kids In The Hall star Scott Thompson, so that helped my dour experience here.

This is a decent little spot to stay in North Bay.
Although the rooms are small and the included breakfast is lack lustre...it is made up for by its cleanliness and friendly staff.
I would give it a thumbs up for its location as well, just off the highway and close to the University/College.

Our hockey team stayed here for a weekend tournament. No one had hot water for a shower in the mornings. Then on the morning of our last day I discovered a live Bed Bug! More bed bugs were found in another room. I was refunded my money but others were not. They said they were going to call PCO and send me a copy of the report. They said Orkin came and that it was actually Carpet Beatles. I took a picture of the one I found and also gave it to the acting manager so they could identify the bug. The picture I took of the bug is 100% a bed bug and NOT a Carpet Beatle! Where are the ethics and standards here? I want to stay at a motel that I can trust!

Since I was traveling thru by car I dont know the answer. What I would do is email the hotel directly. If that does not work, call Comfort in 800 number and ask them. If they dont know ask them to call it to find out. Hope this helps.

Is there parking for a big rig (truck & trailer)?
Answer from Jenni Lillie
North Bay, Canada
Hello, yes we do have parking available however, I would like to be able to talk with you directly as we have 2 locations. Our airport location has a narrow driveway to come in to the hotel however lots of parking. Lakeshore property also has lots of option. You can contact the hotel directly. Thank you for your inquiry-Alison
