1870s log house b & b with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Book one room or enjoy the privacy of the whole house. Relax and enjoy the antiques and quilts in the little log house in the woods. We are open year round. Also available from May through September is the 'Old Stable', located by the babbling brook. This is luxury camping, complete with private composting toilet and cold water hand pump.
We have now stayed at this location several times and always find it clean, comfortable and perfect for our needs. We really appreciate the full kitchen and the multiple quilts to snuggle in! In the past we enjoyed Heather's delicious breakfasts, but in view of COVID the continental breakfast in the cabin worked perfectly well and we had everything we needed. We always enjoy walking on the beautiful trails on the property.

Had a lovely stay in Gray's Log House for a couple days while visiting North Bay. Just a few kilometers out of town, this cottage is the perfect hide-away if you are looking to relax and enjoy nature. Lots to experience on the property, with a firepit, sun room, and lots of forest. The cottage is very cozy, and everything is well maintained by your hosts - Heather and Bill. I would recommend Gray's Log Cabin to anyone visiting North Bay, and I will definitely be back again!

We stayed in the log house with 3 adults, 1 toddler and a black lab. There was lots of space including a full kitchen, bbq and fire pit. The owner was extremely friendly and made sure the place was clean and even had some breakfast goodies in the fridge for us when we arrived. Their dog Eddie came to visit and instantly became friends with my dog and was great with the toddler. We would definitely stay again!

With really friendly owners and lots of character in a lovely setting this place is a gem. Our young kids enjoyed the swings/zip slide and staying in the Old Stable is like 'glamping' The comfort of the warm beds and cooking facilities but with the outside shower/BBQ/Composting toilet. Loft sitting room too. The breakfast is well worth having - really tasty and sets you up for the day.

We stayed in the stable for 2 nights and what fun it was. This is a very unique accommodation. It is not a four star hotel…it is way better. Walls cozy and hung with quilts. Fridge and stove as advertised. Beautiful sleep with breeze going through the large windows and listening to the little river run outside the door. Amazed at the technology that allowed a hot shower in this rustic setting. I'll be back, hopefully for a longer stay.

There are two cabins: the Log house is closer to the noise of Trout Lake Rd (Hwy 63) and the "Old Stable", situated at the edge of the forest, enjoys the sound of the stream and the accompanying mosquitoes. The Stable is furnished with antique home decor, and still retains a beaten earth floor covered with outdoor rugs. Although there are two beds in the room (plus a folding bed), only the double bed was fitted with a mosquito net -- an absolute necessity! (Several gaps in the cabin particularly at the bottom of both doors.) The double bed does not provide enough support for even two slim people, (not recommended for anyone with back issues). According to the description, Wifi, slippers and bathrobes were supposed to be provided. There was a supplementary charge of $10 per person per day for breakfast (which was good) but not specified on the website and decreases the overall value. No receipt was provided. By the way, the dog is endearing.…

Thank you for your input! I have revised my website. I would like to point out that the floor is concrete covered with outdoor rugs, fitting for a camping cabin. A mosquito net is provided for the second bed when the second bed is requested. A receipt is always available on request. It was a pleasure welcoming you both to our property, Eddie loved the walks!

We stayed in the log house twice while in town visiting our son. The first time was Nov. 2015 and then again May 2016. We stayed in both rooms but Brookside is our favourite because it is a bit roomier and we could hear the ripple of the stream outside. The house is fully equipped for cooking up your own meals, even with a bbq. The bed was sooo comfy! Heather cooked us breakfast for 3 mornings and each was fabulous.Homemade preserves each morning as well. Thanks Heather for being so accommodating the last visit with the change in rooms. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in The Stable, a beautiful cabin at Gray's Log House. Had probably the best sleep in years - the cabin is wonderfully appointed, cosy and very comfortable. And silent aside from a gentle creek. Magical. The outhouse and outdoor shower worked really well - I have never stayed anywhere with such wonderful outdoor amenities. Hot water under the stars is an incredible experience. The rustic cabin even had wifi! Heather was very kind and welcoming even though we arrived very late and only stayed one night on our way into Algonquin - I wish we could have stayed longer, I absolutely loved this place. It has such character and heart. My husband and I will definitely be back.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Stable, a lovely cabin with a nice decoration. An old waterpump is outside next to the composting toilet, the hot water shower outside worked well altough it wat a bit cold in the early morning. We really enjoyed our stay for a very nice price with a beautiful breakfast that Heather prepared. Thanks to the great hosts, Heather and Bill

Stayed in the log house for a few nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Opted for the "romantic getaway" and had the place to ourselves. Very reasonable rates for what you get. The house is stocked with everything you need and then some. Also enjoyed the 'summer house' which is a screened in patio, for some relaxation and reading. The breakfast every morning was such a BONUS, really delicious. Will be our 1st choice if traveling to North Bay again.
