Had the pleasure of staying for a couple of weekends in late January and early February, located a short walk to all the main attractions, elegant lobby cordial and professional staff...room was outstanding , tres chic, modern and very tactful...the sleep quality was off the charts, never slept in such a comfortable bed with such luxurious bedding...loved it to bits

Nice modern hotel. I found it conveniently located in walking distance to most sites & plenty of restaurants. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to ByWard Markets & to the big Rideau Shopping Centre & close to Parliament Hill buildings. I had a large corner room on a high floor. Lots of space and nicely furnished. Big TV, but I found the wifi a bit slow. The bathroom is also large with a huge walk in shower. However I found the king size bed and pillows too soft for my liking. What I found most annoying are the electric buttons for the curtains & lights. They are located on the side of the bed but very low to the ground and in all white. For those of us of a more mature age I found them had to see and access. It would also be handy to have something to explain what buttons to use for what. But overall I found my stay at the hotel very pleasant.

I stayed in a signature king room on the 11th floor. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Far enough away from the elevator to avoid the foot traffic in the hallway. I found the wifi signal strong and it was easy to cast my video to the flat screen. It took a little while for me to figure out the lighting controls and how to close the blinds, but it was and bright with the two full walls of windows. Unfortunately the view was not appealing. One side looked out to the shopping mall and the other to another hotel and the local Mission. The room safe was broken. The refrigerator was a pull out drawer below the nespresso machine. There was no water in the room, but you could walk down the hall with the carafe to fill it with purified water from the Cooler - if it was refilled (it was empty by the evening and not re-filled until after I checked out). Room service was only available from 5pm to 9pm. My order showed up in good time and was delicious. The breakfast buffet was overpriced and did not have a good selection. Eggs, bacon and sausage, plus the usual breads. I recommend visiting one of the local restaurants - there are several surrounding the hotel. It also felt strange to have a buffet breakfast while looking out to the Mission with a crowd of homeless men waiting outside. The staff was pleasant, but not responsive. I would avoid using the app. It took over an hour for them to respond. The website boasts a flexible check-out, which was not really the case. They may let you stay an extra hour, but it’s not guaranteed and they seemed annoyed when I inquired. This was my first stay at the Le Germain Ottawa. My previous visits to locations in other cities was more enjoyable and I felt welcomed. The room was $400 for one night. There are much nicer hotels in Ottawa for less.

I've stayed at other Le Germain properties before, and was looking forward to this trip. Overall it was a fine stay, but it was the little things that rubbed me the wrong way. First, the good stuff. The room was spacious and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and quick to help. The ECCO-friendly touches were a welcome alternative to your regular room amenities. A very decent breakfast with hot and cold options, fresh fruit, etc. Now the not so good stuff. They put the TV remote in a small pouch (I guess to give the impression that it's been cleaned/sanitized), but the pouch it was in was stained and a little grubby. There's a coffee machine with complimentary pods in your room, but the cream was spoiled (it curdled when poured into the coffee) I unfolded one of the towels and there was a VERY long hair wrapped into the folds. That was gross, and I would have appreciated some kind of compensation for that discovery. Maybe a discounted rate or a complimentary breakfast? It's a great brand and I would stay, again, at any of their properties. Just need to keep an eye on the little things that would have made this a 5/5 stay. Big shout out to Rita!! She's awesome!!

I absolutely loved my stay at Le Germain in Ottawa. I had a premium King room with a corner view that felt like a home away from home. I love the little touches like a Nespresso in the room and a Tivoli radio that I could use as a bluetooth speaker. The views in the room and the layout made it feel like the perfect day to rest after a long day of sight seeing. The staff itself was attentive and welcoming and I appreciated the hospitality.

We stayed for an evening after Canada Day in a room with a lovely view. The room has all you can ask for and is very modern with a huge bathroom . We were given a wheelchair accessible suite without the need for our family but that actually have us more floor space and room and a corner unit . Walking to downtown , shopping and great eats was a snap . Enjoy our stay !

The room itself was very acceptable but from the minute we arrived everything was ‘extra’. No room upgrades- a bath-they wanted $100 PER NIGHT. Breakfast which was included, was poor and came in a brown paper bag outside your room. Best of all was the down and outs hostel literally opposite, with all the customers/residents coming and going. It didn’t feel unsafe but wouldn’t have been my choice and though convenient, there are much better places to stay for the money.

Dear Dr_Gis64, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I would like to apologize for the aspects that were not up to your expectations. As we have a limited amount of upgraded rooms, we are not always able to offer a complimentary upgrade but do so when we can. We are working on having full hot breakfast available 7 days a week in the coming weeks. (currently it is available 5 days a week due to staffing issues in our industry). The downtown core indeed attracts a variety of different people. I am happy to hear that you felt safe as this is of utmost importance to us. Should you choose to return and give us a second chance, please feel free to contact me directly so that I can ensure your comfort and a great stay. Sincerely, Paul de La Durantaye Regional Manager

I hosted my sales team at Le Germain (Ottawa) for a two day meeting and was extremely happy with the service I received and the conditions of both the meeting and guest rooms. This is the second time I've selected Le Germain for such a meeting; the first in 2018, and more recently in April 2022. My Team was thoroughly impressed by their guest rooms, the food and loved being a short walk from shopping and excellent restaurants. The Reservation and Conference Service Mgr (Z.R.) attended to every detail and ensured everything went smoothly. I look forward to returning a third time.

Booked a one night stay and eager to visit my first Le Germain Hotel. The Ottawa property is well situated and perfect for our needs. We arrived late afternoon and our room was ready. A beautifully designed and nicely appointed room. Plan to adjust to a rather fancy lighting system. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very functional. If the mini-bar/fridge is important to you, you may wish to enquire at check in. Ours was locked. If you take cream in your coffee, please check the room to avoid disappointment in the morning. We had sugar only. Like many others, we are quite dependant upon connectivity. It took about 30 minutes for some of our devices to connect. Once connected, speed was fine. The hotel could improve its signage for parking. There is no exterior sign that we saw that designated the parking entrance was for hotel guests. It merely stated “public parking”. Inside the garage there was no obvious sign indicating where hotel guests should park. We enquired at checkin and told that guest parking was on level P1. There was some inconsistency between check in and check out. It appeared to us that the check in staff was still “in training”. While very pleasant, the staff seemed to lack confidence. When we checked out, the young lady was thorough and very polished. No major criticism……just no worthy of 5 star review.

Well located, easy to get to, courteous staff, charming restaurant. We would go back anytime. The only small thing I would add is that little benches in the rooms to help the kids clean their hands or brush their teeth would be a nice addition.
