I needed something within easy reach of downtown and government offices - and I hate the sterility of hotels. Landed on Albert House - twice! The rooms are tiny, charming, with everything you'd find in a big hotel - but with cute wallpaper and clever corners and cubby holes. ....and oh so comfortable! What was extraordinary was the care -... More

I loved our stay at the Albert House , our room and bed were very comfortable, and the breakfast was yummy. It was so close to to Sparks Street and all the Tourist Attractions were within walking distance. The employees made us feel very welcome and were very friendly and helpful since it was our first time in Ottawa. Thank... More

Only stayed here one night, but would highly recommend this Inn. Breakfast especially the apple pancakes are to die for. Excellent staff and accommodations for the price you pay. Wish I stayed longer, till next time.

This hotel is a welcome break from the typical box like ones you see everywhere. The staff are really helpful and the hotel is nice and clean. A great place to base an Ottawa holiday with the main places all in an easy walk or a short bus ride from the bus stop opposite

This is a cute little gem in the heart of Ottawa. Stayed here for two nights this summer and would stay again. The rooms are a fair size and very comfortable. It is clean but no frills location. The staff where very helpful and courteous. Public transportation is nearby and 20 minute walk to the greyhound. Would definitely recommend it... More

What a wonderful change of pace from a large, sterile hotel! We stayed here for 2 nights in July and were met by the host and the young, lovely staff who helped us park and helped with our luggage. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the twin room on the 3rd level - very clean and with an individual... More

The Albert House Inn is a comfy and quiet place to stay in Ottawa. The building is on the city's historic register and is attractive and well kept. It's within easy walking distance of the Rideau River path, Parliament Hill, and attractions like the Canadian War Museum. The room we had was spacious and well-appointed. Our hosts were very pleasant... More

Lee, Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed our Inn and breakfast choices. I am sorry that you were not happy that you were required to pay for parking, but downtown Ottawa has very limited parking and all accommodation facilities charge (even more) for parking on site. We feel that the cost of... More

For all of those people who travel a lot and spend many nights in Hotels - this is a refreshing change from the typical hotel experience. Location - within walking distance of the major Otttawa sites as well as the doentown night life. Roms - comfortable, homey feel, clean, air conditioned, good wifi. Staff - I spend more than 50... Victorian building converted to b&b. Basic rooms are pretty small, shower and toilet are in separate rooms. The toilet itself basically in a closet so if you are taller than 6' or overweight it's gonna be a bit uncomfortable doing No. 2. AC unit in our room was pretty noisy but we asked for and were given ear plugs. WiFi... More

I've been staying here on and off for 29 years. Cathy & John were still renovating when I first came. Cathy still keeps a steady hand on the tiller, ensuring consistently excellent service through an ever changing cadre of young staff. This is my home for trips to Ottawa. Originally built in 1874, this old lady still has an air... More
