I made a big mistake booking a room here and would not recommend it to anyone. After paying $119/night for a deluxe “pet friendly” room vs $89 for the rooms that said no pets, I was told upon arrival that in the fine print it said there could be more additional fees for having a pet with me (a surprise $25/night extra x3 nights). If the hotel was transparent about this it would have been a different story, but I was upset that this was NOT clear at the time of booking. The person at the front desk had no sympathy and did not offer anything to make the experience better. Then, I got to my room, and it was disgusting. It had not been cleaned from the previous guests and was left a mess (see photo). This would be bad enough during normal times, let alone during a pandemic. I…
Overall we were very satisfied. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Room is small but served our purpose well. Sliding doors on ground floor worked well for taking our dog out for walks along the Rideau River.
Although the rooms are basic they have everything we needed available. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and very pet friendly. I would easily recommend this hotel to others.
Rooms where not very clean. I would have expected to be spotless especially during this COVID lockdown. Toilet was dirty, carpets look like they haven’t been vacuumed; and the table/desk tops where dirty. I had to go over them with Lysol wipes.
Another wonderful stay in one of our favorite hotels. A pre christmas get away was made extra special with the beautiful views and the kindness of the staff. As someone who lives in a huge apartment building in a middle of the city, we find this property extra special with their lovely location in nature, comfy rooms, delicious foods and absolutely wonderful staff. Thank you once again for having us and making our stay extra special!
