Good points. Location. Close to uOttawa station. Pleasant area and little traffic. Room was good size. Clean and comfortable furnishings with good bathroom. Good to see dispensers in shower for shampoo, gel etc. Good coffee machine. On site laundry was one reason I chose this hotel. Very reasonable price forecast 30 minute wash and tumble dry. Detergent powder on sale at reception.
Bad points. Could do with a non slip shower cubical floor or rubber mat. WiFi didn't work too well. Could do with mains plugs next to the beds. There was a USB port but really low output taking ages to recharge a phone. One lift out of two was out of order and being several floors of rooms on a busy weekend, there were delays waiting for a space to go up or down.

Stayed here 3 nights in June. Great location: several minutes walk from the Canal, 10-15 minutes from Parliament Hill and the Market etc etc. Perhaps because we were staying 3 nights and/or didn’t mention our dog when we booked (or am I over-thinking?), we got a lovely corner room; we joked that we’d like to move there because it’s larger than our one bedroom condo in downtown Toronto! Hotel IS older and the elevator, furniture etc show their age, but the Westin and similar are ridiculously pricey. We also saved money (and ate healthy) by preparing every breakfast, one lunch and a dinner in the kitchenette. The hotel’s parking is limited, so we had to park at City Hall, but that was safe and not pricey: just drop off suitcases at the front door and go park. Bed VERY large and comfy. Bathroom small, but shower was good. $50 dog fee was a bit frustrating since ours does not shed (poodle); our neighbours left their dog in the room while they toured and it barked a fair bit, contrary to the waiver/agreement they signed about the pet. Would stay here again but bring my own back support: we walked around Ottawa for hours and hours and the sofa and chairs were older style, no support.

Very good value for the cost per night.
The hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasant.
We were upgraded to a king suite(which includes a kitchenette) at no additional cost which was a pleasant surprise.
The room was nice and very spacious. The bathroom although nicely done was a bit small. People of a larger stature may find it too small.
There was one issue with no hot water at 1100pm. The front desk said they had a problem with it. It didn’t bother us too much though.
The hotel is ideal for walking downtown Ottawa, everything is right there.
I requested to park past our checkout and they had no problem with that.
I would stay again.

While the large king bed was comfortable and there was heat in that room, the rest of the King Executive Suite had no heat but what escaped from the bedroom down the hall. The bathrooms had no heat.

A ceiling vent in the large living area was to supposed to draw heat from the bedroom, but it did not.

When we asked to have it fixed, they said they could give us space heaters. I declined as we had our pup, her crate, another family member living in the main Living room. It would interfere with our circulation and i didn't feel at the high price we paid, that it should feel like we were camping.

The staff members were very friendly and that saved the experience.

btw: We have eaten at Cooper's Restaurant at least other 4 times over the years and were very pleased with the quality of the meals. This time the food was really just ok. Perhaps the head chef was off it being a Sunday night when we went.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting from the u.s. July 8th to the 11th to be exact . I was really disappointed by the sanitary conditions of the suite I was given . Room number 1103 to be exact . The tables were dusty with glass stains that seemed to have been there for months . The sheets did not feel clean . I waited to see if by a day into my trip things will improve but it only went down hill. Per their policy , you must leave the room for housekeeping which I did before 3pm. However to my surprise the housekeeping department only took the trash out of the bathroom and left . They did not make the bed or change the sheets and neither did they even attempt to take out trash from the sitting area . I called the front desk who apologized but the same thing repeated itself the very next day . I was very disappointed by how low the service was. I actually saw a couple of bug bites on my skin at checkout and unfortunately it came from this interior premises. The remote in the living room did not work . And the vent in the room made such a loud noise .. it rattled so much during the night that it was hard to get a proper sleep . Parking is limited despite paying 20 dollars plus taxes a day . It would be courteous to at least provide a bottle of water in the rooms for the prices charged per night . It was a hassle trying to get water. Needless to say this was a very disappointing experience at this hotel and I truly did not enjoy my stay.

Ottawa is fantastic and thought this hotel would be as well. My partner and I are in our 60's, so we have travelled a bit and I expected an average experience at this hotel. We expected to be tourists and come back to a clean and tidy room, however over our 4 night experience we definitely did not review value for the 1300.00 we paid for our stay. On arrival the room was so dusty you could write your name on the furniture ( I dusted), I small soap for 2 people to use for both basin and shower. Bed linen was never changed. Bed was sort of made twice in 4 days. Kitchen wash cloth removed and not replaced, I needed to use the 1 wash cloth we had. Coffee was not replaced twice (we bought our own) and the final night our patio door to balcony was found wide open on return . Just a sample of our experience and the front desk was informed. I was given the Managers card to email my comments. I have done so and unfortunately she has not responded. I realize everyone's expectations are lowered following our Covid lockdowns and staffing is challenging. However, I believe one should receive a fair service in exchange for your patronage. I rarely if never say anything publicly as a review but I could not let this go without a fair warning.

I was a guest at the hotel from Monday October 24th to Thursday the 27th. My purpose for the visit was business related. The location was amazing, the restaurant was also very good (although I only ate breakfast), and the rooms were good. My only complaint about the room was I could not work the air conditioner. The weather was very nice during my stay and the room was too hot . My only saving grace was the temperature went down at night, so I had to open the balcony door to keep from overheating while sleeping. It would have been a nicer stay if I had better control of the room temperature.

My boss called well ahead of my stay to book the room for me and my colleagues. As he has done numerous times in different city’s throughout Ontario, he gives his credit card to be charged at the end of my stay. I always give my personal credit card for any incidentals upon checking in. When I checked in, I was told that I would be charged for the room because my boss never authorized his credit card to be charged. On Tuesday October 25th he sent an email requesting the proper forms to be sent to him so he could sign and authorize the transaction on his credit card. This was never done by management and I was forced to pay for the hotel on my personal credit card.

Surely my colleagues and I were not the first guests to stay at the hotel and have the rooms charged to another persons credit card. I’ve never had any difficulties in many of the other hotels I’ve stayed throughout Ontario for the same purpose. I would strongly recommend educating the staff on the properly booking rooms over the phone.

I will likely be coming to Ottawa in the future for business, however, it is doubtful that I will be staying at your hotel.

Respectfully,
An unsatisfied guest

My stay at Embassy Hotel and suites was fantastic!
The bed is undoubtedly one of the best. I enjoyed waking up in the morning and looking through the wide glass window to discover a great view of Ottawa. The room makes you feel at home while offering premium quality: spacious enough for a king bed and a living room area; the kitchenette has everything you need, and the shower is perfect. Also, the room service and front desk are attentive to your needs. Plus, you are close to everything.
After spending five days there, I did not want to leave.

We recently stayed at the Embassy for 2 nights. Outside of the building looks dates but they have made great renovations in the rooms. We took a king room and it was very spacious compared with most hotels. Nice touch was the kitchen with full stove, fridge and utensils, pots. This was useful if you decided not to go out and eat in. Don’t forget to bring your own dish soap if you plan to use the dishes and glasses. Sitting area was very comfortable with sofa and desk. Separate small walk in closet to put your luggages, hang your clothes and drawer space. Washroom also fully renovated with lots of hot water. The best feature of the room as the balcony that you can open the patio doors and let the air into the room or sit and read a book. Hotel location is great and within walking distance to Byward Market, Parliament, plenty of restaurants and canal. Parking is $20/day and you have the option of indoor or outdoor. Indoor parking is kind of tight but when checking in they did mention this. Excellent service at front desk. Congratulations to the Embassy team.

We could not have chosen a more central hotel. Was perfect for our needs and easy access to the O Line was convenient. Front desk staff was efficient - room was large and clean - added bonus of a full functional kitchen made breakfasts fast and easy. Will stay again
