Ashbury House has been featured live on TV.An example of guest feedback: "Thank you again for an absolutely perfect stay at Ashbury House. I think you go beyond the exceptional in your hospitality and I know this is the rule and I was not an exception because the cab driver asked me about my stay. When I responded with superlatives, he told me it was the same with every fare he picked up there." Joan – California

Came to Ottawa for business. Didn’t want to stay in crappy hotel by the business district that my colleagues recommended. So with a little research I came upon the Glebe and Ashbury listing. Only a wick Uber ride to downtown for work. Lucky for me they had a room available for the week. As they have many many regulars and after my stay I totally understand why. The home is delightful you have a bit of both privacy and some company Rooms are beautifully appointed, bed extremely comfortable , beautiful clean crisp linens warm duvets and wonderful pillows. Rooms had cosy large chairs and an antique desk and a tv. Bathroom clean and very functional. Owners Charmaine and George are so warm and inviting. Charmaine greeted me with a delicious piece of homemade apple pie and Both George and Charmaine are charming and witty. Breakfasts outstanding and delicious. I especially liked their formal and inviting dining room and candles. What impressed me were their exquisite taste in China and tableware. I found the owners very encouraging and engaging rare to find in this world. They made by business trip feel like a mini vacation. They truly are beautiful people full of light. Pleasure to be a guest in their lovely bed and breakfast. I definately want to come again. Thank you so much.

My wife & I stayed one night on our way through Ottawa to Montreal and regretted we did not make plans to stay longer. We loved Ashbury House and our very fine hosts Charmaine & George! We were greeted by Charmaine, who gave us each a slice of homemade pie and told us our room had been upgraded to the upper level apartment. What a treat! She was so warm and welcoming, we felt like we had known her forever. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. The house was full of interesting and beautiful furniture, artwork, and other treasures from their travels to spark great conversation. The location in The Glebe neighborhood could not have been better. The breakfast was over the top! Candle-lit, never ending coffee or tea, and truly amazing food. George kept the coffee and conversation flowing. We really wish we had planned more time in Ottawa, which turned out to be an amazing city with a lot to see and do. But we really would have liked to have spent more time at Ashbury House, just visiting with our wonderful hosts. Very highly recommended!

Arriving at Ashbury House is like visiting good friends again. Charmaine and George are the most delightful hosts... welcoming, upbeat, great conversationalists. The house is beautiful, particularly the garden that George maintains so well — We've never seen such spectacular hanging flower baskets! Every morning, a splendid cooked breakfast and Charmaine's happy face greets us for the start of a new day. Why would we stay anywhere else? We are repeat guests, and will be back again soon!

George was an excellent host - breakfasts were hard to beat, thank you again for everything you did to accommodate my parents stay. They will be back next trip. It was great meeting all the other guests around the table in the morning as well - hope to see some of them again. The room/apartment was really comfortable, quiet and restful. 5 stars and we will be back next trip.

A cozy B&B with character. The owners are very hospitable and friendly. Breakfasts are hearty and generous. Very close to Carleton and not too far from Parliament. This place must be beautiful in the summer!

I recently stayed at Ashbury House for a one week business trip and was definitely not disappointed. Charmaine and George make you feel right at home from the very start - complete with homemade apple pie at check in!! The B&B is only a short walk from the main street in Glebe, so plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Accomodation was charming with a historic feel to it. Breakfasts were absolutely out of this world. Easily put on 2kg during my stay :) Such a lovely couple and couldn't recommend their place more. 10/10 would definitely book again.

We had a lovely 2 day stay here in October. It’s central in Ottawa and a short walk to many of its sites. The hosts were very welcoming, the room was great and the breakfast was wonderful. We also met some fascinating people at breakfast. We will definitely be back!

I stayed with Charmaine & George in September and their hospitality was second to none. The food was delicious and the house is on a quiet street for a good night's sleep. I will definitely be staying here again when I'm back in Ottawa.

Charmaine and George are the most interesting hosts and take a great deal of interest in their guests, whether it's their background, itinerary, vocation and avocation. Clearly, they like people from all walks of life. Their house is centrally located in the Glebe neighborhood, allowing us to walk to the church for our nephew's wedding as well as the reception. We felt safe in the Glebe at all hours coming home. Breakfast is a real treat. Charmaine claims to have 22 different breakfast menus. The food is excellent and there's plenty of it. We even walked along the canal and had drinks and hors d'oeuvres on the Pavilion's deck overlooking Dow's Lake. We'll be back!
