staff was attentive from the moment I stepped into the hotel to check in. They had a power outage just before I arrived for check in which led to a longer queue but there were many staff on site making sure everyone was informed and they were all apologetic. Multiple staff were handing out vouchers for the cafe for the inconvenience which was really appreciated. The room was clean and very spacious, sufficient for all our luggage and different needs. We would definitely stay again the next time we visit Ottawa!
One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in , and I highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is great, central to most things. Shopping is not far away...many areas to choose from to shop. Food at the hotel is fabulous at all times. I love the balcony views best.
This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Booking the reservation was quick and easy. The front desk girls are pleasant and informative. I travel to Ottawa for business quite a lot and I will be happily returning to the Brookstreet hotel for future visits.
Well appointed and bright guest room and super comfortable beds. Loved the pillows and purchased three of them from the gift store beside the coffee shop at the hotel. Outdoor patio restaurant and delicious eggs Benedict for breakfast. Excellent coffee too.
It’s a nice hotel and a good location. We were there for a family wedding so we didn’t really have time to utilize many of the facilities. Due to the power outage we did receive a $10 coupon to use at the B cafe which was nice. The food there was good and reasonably priced.
Power out with no backup plan for check in. No air conditioning, no elevator, no credit, minimal confused staff. Seemed to have a lot of young, uncertain employees that didnt excell in customer service and never gone through hiccups at checkin
We come here every year. The amenities are great, staff are nice and its' atmosphere is very relaxing. It's close to the Tanger outlet mall and not too far from Downtown Ottawa. The hotel is a bit dated and would really use some updating. Overall, it's a nice hotel, convenient and very laid back. Would return again this August.
I came up from Boston for business and this hotel was recommended to me as a great place to stay if wanted to golf, have a nice room and restraunts with lounge and music. It was a very good experience and nice atmosphere. I liked the added security that your room key was connected to your floor you were staying on. It was needed each time you access the elevator when going up. Even if another person was in elevator and going to different floor i had to use my key for my floor. This also apllied to the underground parking garage. The hotel is in a tech business district so not overly conjested. Lots of places to walk and get exercise. The room I stayed in was a King bed corner room with view of the pool and golf course. Room had all the amenties you would expect in a nice hotel including Keurig coffee machine, mini fridge, big TV, plenty of space to relax and work area as well. I did wish the mini fridge had way to make colder. Hotel is within 10 min of nice restraunts and shops, close to freeway and downtown Ottawa was about 20-30 mins away. I would recommend to others and when i go back to see client will stay here again. …
Hotel was nice and room was clean and beds comfortable. Stayed there due to proximity to our weekend destination…Wesley Clover Parks. Coffee maker didn’t work and requested a new one which never came. Staff was friendly. Parking garage roof very low so if u have a truck best to park outside.
This is not a luxury hotel. Extremely overpriced for quality that is lower than a Best Western. Room furniture and bathroom amenities are dated (what "luxury" hotel has one of those shower-tub combos with a mouldy shower curtain??), the toilet tank would empty and refill several times and I was actually hesitant to use it in case it stopped working altogether, bed was terribly uncomfortable with springs and dimples where people had slept (I also needed three pillows to sleep because they compact so much), the mini fridge wasn't stocked so I had to get room service to bring water (do you expect people to drink from the bathroom?), the food was ridiculously expensive and didn't even taste good ($19 for a California sushi roll? That's mental for imitation crab and avocado! I didn't eat half the meals I ordered from Perspectives, B Cafe, Jazz Lounge, or room service... the best thing on the menu was the kids veggies with ranch dip which says a lot). My half eaten room service dishes sat outside my door for a full 24h despite the number of times I pressed the button to have it removed. There was nothing free to watch on TV... even old movies from decades ago were at an extra cost, which is insulting to the customer when you make them pay for even the smallest things. The indoor pool was not clean (I left with a rash or bug bite on my leg so thanks for that), and the outside sauna and hot tub weren't functional during my stay. I also managed to book a massage on my first day but during a thunderstorm the following night I decided to try and book a manicure or something else to pass the time and there was zero availability. It's frustrating because you can't expect people to book everything in advance during a trip and you would think hotels would reserve some time slots for guests in case they want to try the amenities. Basically, my overall experience was disappointing and my "luxury" vacation at the Brookstreet Hotel was a giant waste of money... if it wasn't for the outdoor pool and lounge chairs I would have checked out early and tried to recover some of my money from this mediocre hotel.…
