We had an early morning flight and thought it would be best to stay extremely close by the airport by staying at this hotel - it was a great idea and we would definitely stay again when flying out.
The rooms are oversized, very large and spacious. The kitchenette area very handy, alot of counter space, sink and fridge. Couch and table also in good order.
The room has carpet (king room), which was kinda tired / old fashioned, but everything was cleaned well and there were no funky smells. The decorations are not fancy, but they are clean and well maintained l. The common areas/halls were very well kept. We didnt use the shower, so cant speak to that, but the bathroom was large and well lit, the rest of the room could have some better / brighter lighting.
The bed was just fine, though we only had one short sleep there. The Wifi and elevator both functioned well.
The staff were organized and pleasant to deal with it, check in and check out were easy and quick. We did use the free airport shuttle, I was concerned that it wouldnt be available or would be late, but no need for concern as it was reliable and prompt - even with a 3:00am pickup. We made it to the airport in no time, the shuttle was comfortable
We will definitely choose this spot again when wanting to be near by the airport for a flight.

We were in Ottawa overnight for an appointment the following day. We weren't disappointed with our choice to stay here. The rooms were spotless and extremely quiet (we couldn't hear anyone in any other rooms). The complimentary breakfast had tons of variety and was delicious. Will definitely stay here in the future.

This was my first experience with Hilton Garden Inn brand. The Hilton name conjures up a certain level of expectation. My booking was for December 27th this year. The location was only a few minutes from the Ottawa airport with a shuttle service readily available to and from the airport. The check-in staff were friendly and the room was available for my checking in about 2pm. First impression of the room was that it was spacious but not warm feeling. The furnishings were plain and minimal and the lighting the same. Three small lights, one at the entryway, one between the two Queen size beds, one on the desk. For a room this size lighting was inefficient. A single chair sat in the shadows in the corner with no light for reading. The beds were comfortable but the bedding covers looked small for the bed and were not floor length leaving open areas around the entire bed exposing the metal legs and frame. The duvet was thin, light, not very warm or comfortable and the duvet covers were not ironed. The restaurant was comfortable and well laid out. The menu fairly limited for breakfast and dinner. Weekend lunch was not available. Breakfast offered a buffet priced at $17.50 with oatmeal, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and scrambled eggs along with continental items available. Coffee and tea included. The staff were helpful but some seemed new to the business and lacked serving skills and experience. Hopefully with the current renovations at the property the rooms will be updated to reflect more of Hilton’s higher standards. The lack of any uniform dress at both the front desk and the restaurant. Staff in the restaurant wearing all black but not a uniform, all individual selection. The hotel has potential but big changes are needed to be competitive in today’s market. Until the renovations are completed they need to offer more incentives and better pricing.

Response from Christina Pritchard, Sales at Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Airport
After missing our connecting flight, we opted to stay at this hotel near the airport. It was an excellent choice. We enjoyed our comfortable, spacious room. Kudos to the housekeeping staff: Our room was immaculate! We especially appreciated the onsite restaurant, the Garden Grille and Bar, where we could relax for dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning. Because our luggage was delayed, the front desk staff supplied us with toothpaste and toothbrushes. The shuttle service to and from the airport was among the best we have experienced. These are the customer service touches that turn a stressful day into a good one.

As a Hilton Honors gold member, I was dismayed to discover that certain benefits, like complimentary water, are only offered to guests who book through the Hilton app. While I understand the preference for direct bookings, denying basic amenities to loyal patrons who choose alternative methods is disheartening.
Additionally, when I sought assistance with mailing a postcard, I was met with a flat refusal and no alternative solutions were offered. These small gestures of hospitality are crucial in distinguishing exceptional hotels.
Furthermore, despite a $75 dog fee, the hotel lacked basic pet care amenities. Pet waste bags were conspicuously absent from the pet disposal stands, detracting from the hotel’s reputation for comprehensive pet-friendly accommodations.
Overall, the lack of consideration for both gold members and pet owners diminishes the overall guest experience.

It was absolutely perfect for an overnight airport stay! The hotel is very close to Ottawa airport and the shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 3 am. The entrance is easy on grade to a large open room with restaurants, restrooms , snack bar, nice bar and many sitting areas. Would be excellent for group meetings with lots of ‘break-out’ spaces. Reception was quick and painless. Room was a real surprise! Large, spacious with a great bed and bathroom with a tub! Everything was simple - no fancy plumbing or lighting where you need to ask front desk how it works! Quiet and very comfortable. Price was very reasonable too!

Stayed here for 2 nights for an event at nearby EY Centre which is very conveniently located a 5 minute walk away. Called the shuttle and they’d said it would pick us up at airport. When it didn’t come 15 minutes later I called back and they said it broke and wasn’t coming. (They did pay for my taxi). Coffee mug at breakfast had lipstick on it. Ewww. Complimentary water dispenser in lobby was broken. Complimentary coffee flasks empty. Pool and hottub were under construction. Ice maker on our floor was out of order. Rooms were big and clean and quiet but drab . Bathrooms were nice . Shampoo in built in dispenser was empty. Also no bowls at the buffet for cereal or fruit on BOTH mornings. Shuttle driver was on break when we needed to go to the airport later but we eventually got there. We will try the Marriott next door if we need to return. Staff in the restaurant was really nice and welcoming.

I can't believe how bad this hotel is. First they are charging me $200 more than the quoted price for our reservation on hotels.ca. This is above the usual amount to hold for damages. They say that the final amount will be corrected, but I have no faith in their promise as they don't have the proper amount on their records. And because of the nonfunctional internet, I won't be able to see what the actual charge is until I return home.
We are now on our 3rd day and the internet has not been functional since we arrived. On my last trip to the front desk, they had Amazon on their screens and I had no network connectivity. All they will tell me is that a technician is on their way, but they can't tell when they will arrive and who is actually been called to correct the problem.
Several times our room has smelled on deiseal fuel.
Our toilet needs to be flushed several times to stop it from running.
I can not recommend this hotel

After driving over 6 hours to get here, after I check in the hotel tells me that I will have to bring my room keys back to them in the morning because I have to switch rooms for my second night stay. They said you have no option but to switch for the second night. Told me I can’t have the same room now for 2 nights cause they are fully book- even though I booked my hotel over a month in advance…then I get to my first room and the fridge doesn’t work or the microwave… after I went back to the front desk to complain again about having to switch rooms then they said well all we can do is give you free breakfast.. Why would it allow me to book a room for 2 nights if it wasn’t available. And the way the front desk just told me, that I’d be switching rooms- if they knew ahead of time that they had a large group booking why wouldn’t they contact people ahead of time to see if switching rooms would be ok. If there was another hotel available I would have cancelled right then and there but it was after 5pm by the time I got to the hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone or stay here again.
