A simple Inn on a quiet island. Escape the rat race to yesteryear on remote Pelee Island. Our Inn offers 5 adults only suites/rooms in the Main House eaxh with a private bathroom. Private suites with seperate entrances and private ensuite bathrooms are situated at the back of the property. Our Family Suite accommodates kiddos and or doggos. All rooms are air conditioned. Continental breakfast is served daily from 8am - 10am on our large wrap around screened veranda of the Main House. Occasionally our own pup, Jody will stop by to beg for a bagel. Our 3 acre property offers a screened gazebo a natural firepit, picnic tables and a hammock. Bike the island, hit the winery, walk the beach, hike the trails and fall into bed at the end of each day on Pelee Island at The Wandering Dog Inn. No Wifi, No Tv... just regular old conversation and naps!

We stayed in a King Suite in the back cabins for 3 nights. We have visited Pelee roughly 10 or so times in the last 20 years. We always chose WDI for our stays. Our room was huge, very clean with all amenities needed, and if there isn't something that you need, just ask the Inn Keepers, Cathy and Kevin. Such wonderful people. Totally laid back just like the INN and the people who stay there. It is quiet and super comfortable. Even the locals commented to us that we are staying at the 'best place on the Island'. We couldn't agree more. Breakfasts are wonderful with a good variety of foods. They go above and beyond to make your visit to the Island and stay at WDI perfect in every way. Highly recommend.

Cathy and Kevin are perfect hosts and run this beautiful, historic inn. The King Suite was really lovely - a super comfortable bed, a little kitchenette (coffee maker, microwave, kettle, fridge), indoor seating area as well as a screened in porch complete with hammock and candle! Cathy puts out an awesome breakfast. Kevin does a great job looking after the property and sets up the firer pit for guests each night. It's on Pelee, so everything was relatively close by! Bike racks and nearby public beach were a bonus.

Sorry for the delay in preparing this review. We think of you often as we enjoy our morning coffe! (See photo) We visited Pelee Island in the late Fall 2020 and really enjoyed our relaxing 2 night stay at this beautiful Inn. We were looking forward to visiting the Island for the first time but were a bit anxious about staying anywhere given both COVID spread and restrictions at the time, but Cathy & Kevin Miller were the loveliest hosts and made us feel very welcome and safe. We stayed in one of the private suites, which was spacious, clean & well equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and comfortable bed. We even enjoyed playing a few games of Scrabble (one of the board games in the suite) one evening. We brought our own food to bbq the first night & Kevin got the bbq…

A beautiful old inn. We stayed in the family suite. The one which allows for children and dogs modern country furniture very tastefully chosen. Great attention to detail. Property is beautiful. Dogs loved it and we all loved Cathy and Kevin. Both very welcoming. Kevin with a wicked sense of humor kept us in stitches. Cathy Sid a superb breakfast buffet in main house each morning. We loved our stay in the island. Could have spent a whole week. It’s a great wind down. Soundscape is silence. It’s wonderful. Each day we explored something different. Bikes are a good way to get around Rented e bikes. Many bring their own. Cathy and Kevin are amazing hosts. I gave the Inn an "Average" rating, but it does deserve a "Good" rating. Our room was quite small, but having the A/C and fan was fantastic. Our private bathroom was down the stairs. So, if this is a problem for you, do not stay here. Ensure you get one of the rooms which have an ensuite. Cathy prepares a fantastic spread for breakfast. Pelee Island does not have many options when it comes to eating out. So, when you are given food, ensure you eat it!

We absolutely loved it. Kevin met us on our arrival and made us feel welcome right away. We had a suite, which was lovely, spacious and fully stocked. I felt like I was staying at the inn from Newhart, which for me was amazing. The breakfast was fantastic (including very delicious coffee), and I loved sitting and eating in the enclosed verandah. Both Kevin and Cathy were gracious hosts who always made time to talk to guests and tell them about the property and the island. I can't believe they run the place on their own without help! There's a fantastic beach for swimming nearby, and it's easily accessible to everything you'd want to do and see on the island. I wish we had more time to explore the property, which is so beautiful and well maintained. We'd love to go back any time!

In use in some form as an inn for over a century, the Wandering Dog Inn is a charming escape from city ruckus. Host Kevin is a personable attentive guy with a sharp sense of humour. His partner Cathy whips up a mean breakfast and is loaded with interesting information. My room was cozy and comfy and watching the swallows tending to their nests outside my window was a real treat. The property is filled with nice little touches, including a hammock, firepit and bbqs. A separate building houses several screened in suites of varying size and price. We rented bicycles one day and made an entire sweep of the island with its pleasant beaches and immaculate homes on the east side and main business area and stunning sunsets on the west side. The inn and its keepers are charming and inviting. Cathy and Kevin ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable. Cathy whips up mean and filling breakfast with accommodations for all food needs. The coffee was luxurious! The suite I stayed in was well appointed and had all needed for a stay. The bed slept well and would be happy to stay another night. The screened in porch was lovely as the bugs were out in full force! The room was very clean. In the evening, the bonfire is a great time to get to know the other guest and would recommend to attend. We just loved this little inn. It was a charming getaway from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were well maintained. We had a lovely room with a queen size bed and little sitting area. The room was spotless. We had our own bathroom down the hall. These areas were just what you would expect in a 100+ year home. Kevin greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the inn, very personable young man. Cathy, his wife, put on a wonderful breakfast for us, which we ate in the wrap around veranda. Kevin and Cathy were one of the nicest couples you could ever meet. So helpful and caring. We met Fred and Jodie, their dogs, such sweeties. The Wandering Dog is a great place to find peace and tranquility! From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. Cathy and Kevin are wonderful hosts. They greet everyone who arrives and try to make each person's stay memorable. Covid protocols were in place but did not interfere with the wonderful experience! Cathy serves a great assortment of items for breakfast in the morning which is enjoyed in a screened porch overlooking the grounds. There is lots of room to sit and read, relax, and enjoy the sounds of nature both indoors and outdoors. Every evening Kevin sets up a campfire for all the guests to enjoy and share their experiences of the Island. Pelee Island is a great getaway from the "rat race".
