A simple Inn on a quiet island. Escape the rat race to yesteryear on remote Pelee Island. Our Inn offers 5 adults only suites/rooms in the Main House eaxh with a private bathroom. Private suites with seperate entrances and private ensuite bathrooms are situated at the back of the property. Our Family Suite accommodates kiddos and or doggos. All rooms are air conditioned. Continental breakfast is served daily from 8am - 10am on our large wrap around screened veranda of the Main House. Occasionally our own pup, Jody will stop by to beg for a bagel. Our 3 acre property offers a screened gazebo a natural firepit, picnic tables and a hammock. Bike the island, hit the winery, walk the beach, hike the trails and fall into bed at the end of each day on Pelee Island at The Wandering Dog Inn. No Wifi, No Tv... just regular old conversation and naps!
Cathy and Kevin are amazing hosts. I gave the Inn an "Average" rating, but it does deserve a "Good" rating. Our room was quite small, but having the A/C and fan was fantastic. Our private bathroom was down the stairs. So, if this is a problem for you, do not stay here. Ensure you get one of the rooms which have an ensuite. Cathy prepares a fantastic spread for breakfast. Pelee Island does not have many options when it comes to eating out. So, when you are given food, ensure you eat it!

The inn and its keepers are charming and inviting. Cathy and Kevin ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable. Cathy whips up mean and filling breakfast with accommodations for all food needs. The coffee was luxurious! The suite I stayed in was well appointed and had all needed for a stay. The bed slept well and would be happy to stay another night. The screened in porch was lovely as the bugs were out in full force! The room was very clean. In the evening, the bonfire is a great time to get to know the other guest and would recommend to attend. Great conversations will be had! Thank you so much Cathy and Kevin for hosting me at your inn. I had a great tome and will be staying here on my next visit to the island. This is definitely the place you want all your friends and family to come experience when visiting the island!

The Wondering Dog is a lovely Inn. Cathy and Kevin were gracious hosts. Our room in the separate building was spacious and clean. They provided great tips and advice before our daily outings. Take advantage of their local insight to avoid pitfalls. Cathy’s breakfasts were delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are planning a quiet getaway to Pelee island.

I would like to thank Kevin and Cathy for a wonderful stay at the Wandering Dog Inn. You both made us feel so welcome and comfortable we felt at home. Our room was just lovely and the bed was perfect. We are so very rested and relaxed after our stay. The breakfasts was scrumptious. A great way to start our day. Our island adventure started with all of the sights including island wild life like a fox snake, turkeys, a bald head eagle, grey and white cranes, plus many other birds including pelicans the high light of my day. The ferry ride was fun too. I highly recommend you plan your own Peelee Island adventure.

This is such a sweet place to stay. Cathy and Kevin are very welcoming and down to earth. Our King suite was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The vibe and ambiance did not disappoint....we were very relaxed. We highly recommend this gem!

Cathy and Kevin are absolutely amazing as a couple and a team! They’re organized, extremely clean, very accommodating and SUPER Fun! By the end of our 2 night stay we felt like we were staying with a great big family. Wonderful stories by the campfire, breakfast and even a fun group adventure to the beach! We came home rested and refreshed! We can’t wait to return. Thanks to all our new friends and especially to Cathy and Kevin for such a great short vacation.

We spent three days on the island at the Wandering Dog and really enjoyed our stay. It's an old-fashioned inn on a quiet property. Our room was clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Cathy and Kevin were fantastic hosts.

We had the best experience at Pelee Island because of the Wandering Dog Inn. Our family suite was spacious, clean and a minute walk to the beach. Our dog Lola loved it as well! Nothing but wonderful memories and delicious breakfast. An amazing place to embrace the beauty of the island without the distraction from technology. The Owners were gracious and friendly. We will be back!!

An absolutely charming inn run by a very welcoming couple. Wonderful breakfast each morning. The wrap around verandah was a welcome place to read. Close to beaches and easy to get around by bicycle. Would gladly return.

I am not aware of any discounts, the Hospitality Industry has experienced hard times through Covid, my view is that we should do all that we can to help them survive. Just my opinion ......
