A simple Inn on a quiet island. Escape the rat race to yesteryear on remote Pelee Island. Our Inn offers 5 adults only suites/rooms in the Main House eaxh with a private bathroom. Private suites with seperate entrances and private ensuite bathrooms are situated at the back of the property. Our Family Suite accommodates kiddos and or doggos. All rooms are air conditioned. Continental breakfast is served daily from 8am - 10am on our large wrap around screened veranda of the Main House. Occasionally our own pup, Jody will stop by to beg for a bagel. Our 3 acre property offers a screened gazebo a natural firepit, picnic tables and a hammock. Bike the island, hit the winery, walk the beach, hike the trails and fall into bed at the end of each day on Pelee Island at The Wandering Dog Inn. No Wifi, No Tv... just regular old conversation and naps!

I cannot say enough great things about our wonderful stay at the Wandering Dog Inn. We stayed in one of the suites and were very pleased with the space. We especially loved the private screened porch with our own hammock. Kevin and Cathy made us feel like we were not just guests, but friends and I enjoyed our daily interactions with both of them. (And the real wandering dog, Fred, was very friendly as well!) The Inn and property are very well kept and give off a wonderful island relaxing vibe. The service and food quality were top notch! Just a quick note to say how much my wife and I enjoyed are brief stay here last week. Kathy and Kevin are delightful hosts always willing to do anything reasonable to make our stay an wonderful one. The Inn is on an island that time forgot. Make sure to set your watch back 50 years and then just lay back and relax. Hammocks provided.

The Wandering Dog is a simple and beautiful inn on laid back Pelee Island. The hosts Kathy and Kevin are very accommodating. We were there during COVID-19 restrictions and they worked hard to provide a relaxing and enjoyable stay despite some restrictions. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. There is a fire pit for guests to enjoy, a wonderful reading room, hammock and just a calm, comfortable atmosphere. You can spend time at various quiet beaches, the water was great when we were there, cycle the island , visit a couple of historic sites and hike. Lots of birds and rabbits. We saw a fox, and two families of pheasants as well. No internet was not a problem for us. We had our phones to connect. We would recommend the inn and the island when you want to unwind.

Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The property is well kept and the decor inviting. We enjoyed being away from televisions and wifi, a great place to unplug. Good continental breakfast & fun fire pit to get aquatinted with other guests. It was worth the effort of traveling there from Toronto.

My husband and another couple decided to spend a weekend biking and touring the winery on Pelee Island. We chose this welcoming Inn and Cathy and Kevin were so accommodating as well as helpful in getting us orientated to the island. We stayed in the rooms at back of property and they are roomy and very clean. We were able to enjoy a lovely bonfire on the property with other guests on one evening which was fun. An added bonus is meeting Fred the dog 🐕🐾 We definitely will go back one day!

we travelled to Pellee Island with friends and stayed in the units at the rear of the property. they were large, clean, nicely furnished and had a wonderful large porch to share stories and Pellee Island wine while watching the rain and lightening. Kevin was an interesting and informative host who shared lots of stories about the Island. Breadfast had every option available - eggs, toast, muffins, bagels, fruit, breads and of course lots of coffee. it was served on the old fashion porch of the house. there was an firepit available but not in the rain! Overall al lovely experience.

We stay there in September 2019. Kevin and Fred, the dog, were great hosts. Our room in the main building was clean and just the right size. The location on the island was great. Close to the Pelée Winery Kiosk and to Fish Point park. Each night Kevin provided wood for a nice pit fire. There was a good selection at breakfast. Something to met all dietary needs or restrictions. I would have preferred being able to toast my bagel but that is a personal choice.

My husband and I came here for a relaxing two night stay in August 2019. We loved the room, the atmoshpere, the hosts, the food and the location. Everything was better than expected. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was much more than we expected of a "continental" and the hosts were funny, charming and helpful. They let us stay and use the house after we had to be checked out of our suite for the next guests coming in that day. That was amazing and helped us make the most out of our stay. We will definitely be coming back!

We were on Pelee Island for their Heritage Weekend events. I book a different place each time and had always wanted to try The Wandering Dog as it is a large property with a heritage home and separate units at the back. A fire pit with encircling chairs is a very different element and there's a screened gazebo for reading as well. There's a good variety of food elements for breakfast and lots of tables to sit at by windows for outdoor views. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. The fire pit area was where everyone met, chatted and shared island experiences. It is like no other place on the island for this kind of casual sharing.

We visited the Inn over Labor Day weekend. I was very pleased with our visit. The moment we arrived we were greet by Kathy who checked us in. We arrived a little early so our room was not quite ready, no problem, we dropped off our bags and off we went to explore. We came back a few hours later and the room was done. We had the 2 queen bed room with a private porch. The room is very large with the 2 beds, 2 Chairs, mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The porch had a cute wooden table with four chairs and a relaxing hammock. There are grills outside the doors for use (which we used each day). On to the breakfast, it was fabulous, we had eggs, cinnamon rolls, bagels, juice, coffee. Each night, Kevin was there to start up the bonfire. We enjoyed talking with the other guests…
