We all decided to go to Pelee Island for just one full night. We took the Ferry over from Leamington, Ontario and left our vehicle at the parking lot. The ferry was actually pretty neat. Kiki’s Westview was litterly across from us. Cottage was clean, beds were fine. Good times!

This is a VERY bare bones motel. Not much selection on Pelee Island, unless you are staying at B+Bs which abound. But traveling with a 4 year old, not many B+Bs were "family friendly". Westview Motel also was the cheapest we could find for out one night stay - $80 all said and done. That being said, it is a good value for what limited choices there are on island. The room was clean, water hot, sheets laundered. But the bed was not really comfortable, the toilet was missing a nut (but worked), and the ceiling light was burned out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Super cute yellow lab named Tyson was also fun!
If I were to visit Pelee Island again, I would pass and pay an extra $50 for a B+B that was family friendly, or just rent a cottage for a night.
But if you are looking for clean, bare bones, close to the ferry (across the street), and cheap, this is the place for you.

The room was pleasantly bright and clean and large enough to take our bikes inside overnight ... a bonus. Great location right across from the ferry docks and restaurant right next door. The winery is just down the road, a ten minute walk and definitely worth it!

This is a simple, bare bones motel that can provide a pleasant stay. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The biggest feature is the proximity to the ferry. My girlfriend and I were on a cycling tour taking an evening ferry. It was nice to cross the street in the dark and fall into a clean comfortable bed.

Our room was clean and spacious. We were welcomed with warmth and Lorraina brought us a coffee maker as soon as we asked. We were very happy with our stay at this quaint motel and loved walking to the shore to see the sunset.

We can't even begin to say how unprofessional Barbara the Manager and Chris the owner have conducted themselves. They just called two weeks prior to the Unplugged Festival to say they overbooked and cancelled our five night/seven day reservation. We have our ferry booked and tickets purchased. We booked this in March of this year with Chris and added two nights on through multiple calls to Barbara. She left a voice mail today stating that they have to cancel with no reason. When I called back she stated they double booked. We are horrified to say the least. We will never, ever have one nice thing to say about the Westview Motel. Thank goodness the Anchor & Wheel Inn were able to accommodate us and for less cost. Shame on you Chris and Barbara!

There are things about Pelee Island that I probably should have researched more, but having potable water is not something I thought to check. I'm not a high maintenence individual, but there are certain expectations when renting a motel room.

I can start with the good: This motel allows pets and that is wonderful. This motel is clean.

Now for the bad:

We had requested unit 6 and were told it was already rented, so we rented 2 separate rooms. No one ever arrived to unit 6. The attendent said the next day that they had a late cancellation. That's fine, but the cancellation would've been at the same time as our late check in because of the ferry schedule but we still couldn't have the requested room.

Upon entering the bathroom, signs were posted that the water was not potable. No indication of where to get potable water...The only place available to buy water was at the ferry terminal and the machine is coin only operated.
The attendent informed us the next morning that they have potable water in the office and we could've asked for it at check in. This is something that WE are responsible for? We should've been told by the evening attendent that there was no potable water and we should've been given water at check in. Our dogs were standing right at the door at check in. It was very obvious that we needed water.

There was no hot water in the shower. I ran the shower for 10 minutes waiting for it to warm and it never did.
The next morning, the attendent didn't get to the office until 10am, we were up and out by 8 am.
We drove back to the motel around noon to speak to the attendent about our experience expecting at least a partial refund. The attendent was aloof and unconcerned at best. We brought up all of these issues and were answered with a shoulder shrug and an offer to try another room to shower. At this point, why complain about the incredibly uncomfortable beds (more so, bouncy cots) that were covered with mattress saver sheets and smelled of urine?

The attendent had no interest in making any part of this trip right. I can deal with not having potable water if I am PREPARED. This is something that we NEEDED to know.

So, many of you may think that's my fault. Maybe it is for not knowing the municipal water treatment plant wasn't designed properly. But that's information that should be shared at the time of booking.

When a guest tells you there's no hot water in the room, make an effort to look concerned and act like you're going to do something about it. For $80 I expect more than a roof over my head and cold running water.

We will not return.

This was our second trip to Pelee Island and our second stay at Westview. Staff was different for both visits. I echo the previous writers who described the setting as "bare bones." The second visit we decided to rent a cottage as we were staying a week. Lots of room in this clean three-bedroom, that cost us $165 a night. There were mishaps: Rain on top of rain the previous week resulted in our bathroom flooding. We had to wait several hours for workable levels to be restored. Further, our bbq didn't work properly and staff had no idea how to address this issue, which was disappointing. It should be further stated that, while pleasant when available, half the time she seemed to be off premises, which is pretty annoying when you need clean towels or a propane tank replaced. Come and stay at Westview, but be prepared to be self sufficient! Don't forget to rent bikes from Comfortech or have lunch at the awesome Conorlee's Bakery & Delicatessen. If you are staying for an evening or three, grab an ice cream from Coneheads and settle in for some of the most awesome sunsets you'll ever see!

Recently renovated rooms are super clean and comfortable. Location is excellent; quick walk to the winery, restaurants, the dock and bike rentals. This is a great vacation to soak up the scenery and unplug from the world!
