Detailed Reviews
The hotel is located in the old downtown, within 3 min walk to many restaurants and river.
The overnight parking is about 200 m away at the city's unguarded parking lot. There are many homeless people around on all streets.
The breakfast wasn't impressive at all, just very basic staff. We were given the room on the 1st floor, however the curtained window was at the very top (it's an old building with high ceilings) and we felt like we were in the windowless room. When we asked to change the room we were told that the hotel was full.

Stayed one night to attend a concert at the Showplace Theatre. Pros were the front desk staff, location (right in the downtown core), quiet, and priced well.
The cons. First, our room was just weird, and it desperately needed a deep clean and a refresh. We were on the first floor and the room was a very odd shape. The bed was clean and fairly comfortable but the rest of the room was sketchy. Behind the couch was dirty, the closet door was off the rails, the bathroom fan didn't work, the main door didn't close or lock properly, and there was a weird window up really high with the blinds open and no way to close them. The strong phone in the bathroom was yellow with smoke stains. Perhaps the rooms on the higher floors are better. The "gym" was dirty and small and kinda scary. The breakfast was decent. If we can get a room cheap we would stay here again just for the location.

The room was nice, staff friendly. I had to open the window to cool the room however, and there are a couple of bars nearby that party hearty until 2 am. WiFi was abysmally slow, at 1.2 Mbps, high latency, only 2.4Ghz. Traffic noisy too. Still, handy to a lot of stuff if you have the luxury of sleeping in. Breakfast is high carb only, not good for us keto types. Lots of homeless about, I was only asked for money once.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our Friday night stay!
Or room was on top floor, facing the street filled with lots of different shipping experiences including quaint little shops that were unique.
Staff were amazing and our room was very nice. There room had fireplace, jet tub in the bathroom and was very clean. The Queen bed was comfortable, wifi was great and small fridge worked well.
The location must be best in city, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants/bars, the waterfront and lots of entertainment venues as well.
Parking is not on-site but easy walk just around the corner. We also got a voucher for 15 percent off for food at the assortment restaurants and bars (recommended the Maple Moose).
All this at a very good price. We will definitely be back!

A hotel that is a little more than “worn around the edges” that has no business charging $200 a night. Completely outrageous. The room stank so strongly of at least two different air fresheners that were so overpowering that we had to sleep with the window open (-10 outside). It smelled as if the mattress itself had been sprayed with febreze or some other toxic product. Awful. They should worn you. But hey at least the windows open. Also there was no blanket on the bed. The coffee provided was only decaf (?) No parking on site. Nightclubs and people shouting below the window all night. The room has a gas fireplace, which seemed redeemable and charming, but yup, you guessed it - it was broken. Save your money.

This is a poor excuse for a hotel. Other than the convenient location, there is nothing good to say about the hotel. The rooms are smelly, dirty and really, really tired looking. The website photos make the room look so much bigger and nicer than they really are. In the first room we were given, the air conditioner, TV and fridge did not work. The buttons on the AC were literally falling off onto the floor. When the manager could not get the fridge to work, he kindly gave us a bigger room (so-called suite) that was larger but not much cleaner. But at least the TV and fridge did work. The sink light in the bathroom was burned out and there was only one waste basket for the whole room. Breakfast was a joke with hardly any food set out--3 bananas, a few apples, packaged oatmeal and no eggs. I had to ask for some yogurt and the attendant brought out just 4 containers. We ate our breakfast at Smitty's down the road and it was far, far better.

Booked the king room with a whirlpool tub for my husbands birthday. They forgot to put flowers and chocolate in the room as requested. When I asked them they said they'd ask the manager and never got back to me or provided them. The Place is also run down.
Walls covered in dust crooked damaged lamp shades there was a big plastic piece with staples sticking out of it on the bed when we walked in. Looked like part of a mattress. One lamp didn't even reach an outlet to plug in. The towel rack fell off the wall the second we touched it. The chair in the room was smashed and had holes and the bed wasn't even made properly. Seemed the sheets were clean. But wasn't neat like a usual room. My husband realized after pouring a glass of water and drinking from it that there was red lipstick on the cup. We didn't have any lipstick so that was pretty gross. The lady at the desk said she would talk to housekeeping but it was pretty bad honestly. Won't be going again.

Do not stay here. I thought it would be a cheap and cheerful place downtown - wrong. A dive of the worst kind. The room smelled strongly of mold. Hair and crumbs from previous guest(s) were in both the room and the bathtub. Even the water tasted funky compared to the rest of the city.
Avoid this place if you have basic cleanliness and health expectations.

Nice front desk staff! Room was tired and not cleaned the best. Old soap and shampoo were left in the shower. Night stand lamp was missing a bulb and when I took and old cfl bulb from and lamp, it still didn’t work. Smoke detector was missing. Mirrors were streaked like them used a dirty cloth to clean them, probably the same dirty cloth they used to clean the still dirty glasses. We were only there for 12 hours, longer I would have moved. Loud a/c units but the bed was comfy!
