Detailed Reviews
This family-run at-door motel is currently called Knights Inn, but I'm posting this review under The Gables as that's what everyone calls it (and, as the arrangement with Wyndham is only for a year, it's always possible the name may once again change back to The Gables). It's an older motel, but my room was large and excellently maintained; the bathroom too was quite large though there was no tub, only a shower (no problem as far as I was concerned). There was a fridge and microwave in the room, and they lent me an ethernet cable which allowed me to work at a convenient desk. (Half of the rooms have wireless, half ethernet; ask about this, if it's an issue for you.) There's no breakfast - not surprising for $60 including tax - but there's a Tim's a block away and, right next door, there's a diner-style restaurant with a good atmosphere. (I ate there last night.) The location is on a main road but the rooms are quiet, and the motel is easy to reach from the 402. To sum up: I felt I was getting excellent value without having to surrender comfort or cleanliness. Arriving on a rainy night and looking at The Gables' modest exterior I wondered if I'd made the right choice, but it turned out that staying here was an object lesson in not judging a book (or, in this case, a motel) by its cover.

My family and I had a lovely stay and were really pleased with service at The Gables Inn. They had newly renovated rooms with beds that had fluffy pillows and warm blankets, new up-to-date bathrooms and a modern kitchen with all the utensils and cookware we needed. They also have wireless internet which was working just fine for us. It was just so BEAUTIFUL compared to the dump we stayed at our last visit to Sarnia. The staff was willing to help and had a very welcoming aura to them.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks again, you definitely made our stay enjoyable...!!!!

Was heading to London around 11pm but there was a snow storm so I pulled in to The Gables because I tired, it was the closest place and was somehow rated #3 on the Trip Advisor “value chart”(guess I won’t go by that any more!).
On the Trip Advisor App it said $68 CDN, so fine $68 for the #3 value on TA not too shabby I guess.
The woman comes out and says they have a room for $100 cash. I’m like it says $68 on the app. She says no that’s US funds(it wasn’t)
How many 1* hotels charge $100?? After some haggling she went to $90, I was tired so accepted but I’m pissed.
I could have went to the Days Inn for pete sakes, but it was late and they had me by the you know whats. Maybe that’s how they do business where they are from.
So I get into the double queen room and it’s cold, the chairs are stained, I’m looking at cigarette burns in the bedding as I write this.
I know, I know it’s a 1* motel your saying what do you expect?
Fine I could live with the 1* room I basically just needed a place to crash and I was flying solo its not about that it’s about being disrespected and charged more then the Trip Advisor app said it was for a 1* dive because I was stuck and it was late at night. There was like 2 cars there. $100 cash she says, my ass.
Who the hell writes these nice reviews??
So anyways I’d stay away from London Line motels all together and go to the downtown area by the water maybe the Harbour Front or something and get a decent room for the same price.

I've stayed here twice now with no complaints. This motel should have a higher rating. Owners are very nice. Towels and linens are clean and comfortable wifi and TV provided. Fridge air conditioner microwave. Everything you need for a few days

Great check in experience, got upgraded to a kitchenette suite, which was also newly renovated. It was really nice. Motel was very quiet so I had a GREAT sleep. Very nice location as well. Also close to groceries stores and restaurants. Room was clean and spacious and also surprisingly large with a big, comfortable bed. Staff feels happy and like a family so this place must be doing something right that other places should take note of. Will definitely come here again. 10/10.

The pictures for this motel are not what they actually are. Yes they did renovations but curb appeal is awful. TV didn’t work, no coffee machine or hair dryer in room. Elbow grease would improve this motel tenfold. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The family were very friendly, but need to do research on how to run a motel. 8:00 am, we had to bang on the door to hand in our keys.

It’s a clean, comfortable, quiet place to sleep. Best breakfast place in town is right next door. What else could you want???
Great bed, clean, lots of space for parking. Good price. I’m in Sarnia a lot, and this is the place I stay at.
Also nice to support a local family business, instead of the big chains.

We came from Toronto to visit some friends in the Sarnia area and stayed at the Knights Inn. The room was great. We had stayed a few nights in one of the kitchen units. Very well equipped. The room was newly renovated and had everything we needed. The room service was also very good. The place also offered free highspeed internet connection and breakfast. Would recommend staying here for anyone looking for a nice place to stay at an affordable rate.

My fiance and I just spent Friday evening in Sarnia for a family wedding the next day, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Gables. From the friendly helpful staff, to the comfy bed, we were very impressed. We were given a brand new refurbished room that had a BRAND NEW bathroom. After a not so pleasant stay at a dump down the road in July, this was heaven for us, and we will be back in the future and know we will stay at Gables Inn! Thanks again, you made our visit worthwhile!
