Our visit was from a Sunday to Friday. Our main reason to go there was to cross country ski and we were not disappointed, they have an amazing amount of trails, beautiful scenery and friendly staff. We stayed in a room under the club house,it was close to the lodge, nice size with big windows facing the creek. The rooms aren't anything... More

We drove 5.5 hours to reach Stokely and we can say that the drive time was worth the effort to reach such a beautifully set facility. The cross country ski trails and snow shoe trails are all maintained and set in beautiful settings. Snow shoe hikes can either be aside a gurgling creek or uphill towards a cliff frozen over... Spent a February's week holiday here coming from Ottawa. Everyday was perfectly crisp with bluebird skies in the best parts of the Canadian Shield. The meals served by the kitchen staff were truly outstanding. They are extremely accommodating and take any special requests. Daily snacks are always available and can be taken out skiing and hiking. The best part of... More

Being gifted this trip with no prior experience with Cross Country skiing, my boyfriend and I were excited to try this resort hidden in the wilderness of Sault Ste Marie - what a pleasant surprise. Not only were we met with encouragement, accommodation and peacefulness - from the owners as well as other guests, we discovered we truly have found... More

My wife and are from Minnesota and Wisconsin, and we had planned our nordic ski vacation in areas where we have not yet received enough snow. Fortunately, we changed our plans to try skiing at the Stokely Creek Lodge. Not only did we find snow, and LOTS of it, but we were treated to a warm, friendly, unpretentious nordic ski... More

We visit Stokely every two years, driving the eight hours or so from Toronto. And it's worth the trip every time. At the end of each trip we don't know whether to remember the days by the skiing we did or the food we were served. The trails are unmatchable: from the bracing climb to the top of King Mountain... We stayed at Stokely Creek for 4 nights over the xmas holidays. We had put off going to Stokely for many years because of the 8 hour drive from Toronto but when we saw the Porter Air seat sale to Sault Ste Marie we jumped at the opportunity: 1 1/4 hour flight, 45 minute rental car drive and we were... Just came back from a great couple of days with a good friend. It is cross country ski heaven! The Scandanavian-feeling accommodations were simple, more than adequate and quite lovely. Lots of room to lounge with several fire places and cozy nooks and open spaces with great views, wonderful people and great healthy food and much appreciated saunas. So many... More

We came here this fall to check out the biking trails. Not only were the trails great, but we loved the lodge. I don't think they get much business outside of the winter season, but once people start discovering the trails for hiking and biking, that will change. We were the only people staying there at the time and the... More

Molly and I have had our eyes focused on the other end of Lake Superior for quite a while. This year we finally had the opportunity to visit Stokely Creek Lodge and ski the Wabos Loppet for the first time. We could not have asked for a more perfect time. The cross-country ski trails were a Winter Wonderland of freshly... More

“Not a bad bed to stay in. There's no TV but has wifi. The main lodge is great for group dinners. There are cabins that on their own with their own bathrooms. If you prefer the group lodge with shared bathrooms that is available as well. Everything is clean!”

“Lodge rooms are super helpful, giving you immediate access to the dining room and all rec rooms without needing a coat. There is also a sauna in the basement so no need to travel outside! You will have to share bathrooms with other guests in this option, however, so if that's a problem get a cabin or another room that has a private bath. There is another sauna on the property that has direct access from a cabin as well.”

“Rooms in the lodge share a community bathroom but it was clean and everyone is so nice - kind of like sharing with family. Everything is close and we had two different rooms that were both nice. The descriptions on the website were accurate.”

“We stayed in the lodge, not one of the cabins. The rooms were small and clean, but you will need to share a bathroom with other guests. We enjoyed the fact that we could always walk upstairs to our room, but some guests might enjoy the privacy of a cabin.”
