Quinten and Joy treat you like a member of the family. Breakfasts were fabulous. We can't remember a better start to the day at any other B & B we've visited. Be sure and sample their signature potatoes!

On whim we drove to St. Catharines to see our daughter who is a student at Brock University. As the forecast for the next day looked good we decided to stay for the weekend. We were happy to find Old Port B&B on Trip Advisor. Old Port B&B in Port Dalhousie is a beautiful place to stay and our hosts Joy and Quinten made us feel very welcome. The entire place including the grounds were beautiful.
We asked if our daughter could join us for breakfast the next morning and they had no problem accommodating this request for a small additional fee. Breakfast was delicious (Eggs Benedict) an we enjoyed dining with the other guests in the beautiful dining room.
Overall you can't go wrong with Old Port B&B. It's a short drive to the university area but a great place to stay for out of town visitors.
PS dont forget to go down to the port area. We'll be back!

From the beginning of the entrance of the doorway. Our amazement of how GOURGOUS this place is,was remarkable !!! Joy and Quinton are top self people. They made us feel right at home.
Not to be confused with old mothball smelling B&B's~ some are old and ragged.
Joy & Quinton built themselves a OASIS of a B&B. Very modern and Victorian all in one.
Breakfast was Amazing. Nice to know that there are places out there that treat you like ROYALTY.Fine China and fine crystal ware, champagne mimosas followed by an array of fruits and fresh hot croissants, then followed by amazing eggs Benedict or smoked salmon Benedict (your choice). Not to mention that it is newly renovated, with GREAT choice de-core. master bedroom is a king size bed and ooooh so comfy with Egyptian cotton sheets lots of pillows. This place is so clean through out that i was AMAZED!! Nestled in a quite neighbourhood with a great front porch and a side deck for the R&R. A short walk to famous local watering holes or a short drive to great dinning or take a stroll down to the local marina and do the "walk'bout"
HATS OFF TO YOU JOY AND QUINTON JOB WELL DONE!!!!

THANK YOU ~JOY AND QUINTON AND DORIS for the most beautiful experience of the NEW AGE of B&B

We are definitely repeat customers !!!!!!!!

We had a terrible experience with Old Port B & B. No communication! Not kid or people friendly! Rude!

After traveling for the better part of a day, Joy and Quentin didn’t ask us about our drive or offer us water. Initially they were concerned about where we had parked--apparently not in the ‘correct’ spot. While sharing the rules of the house, they were not happy about our son’s busy-ness. He had been in the car most of the day and was antsy. I told Joy that we would be spending most of our free time at the house we had reserved with them, not in the B&B, but apparently that wasn’t good enough.

Joy insisted that it would be better for my family to be in the house property and my in-laws in the B&B room. I declined and tried to move on. But there was no moving on. Then Joy said she doesn’t allow children in the B&B. This was news to me since I told her about my son months earlier when she took our deposit. She showed us the room in the B&B and then we drove (far away) to the house, where they continued to coerce us into staying there. They tag teamed, leaning into our personal space and trying to get us to change the plans we had put in place with them over eight weeks earlier. Apparently they hadn’t thought to pick up the phone or email us to discuss their scheme; they decided to pressure us when we arrived.

The short of it: our son was not welcome at their B&B. As that reality soaked in and became crystal clear to us, we didn’t want to be anywhere near it or them, either.

We did get our deposit back. We were left high and dry to find a place to stay. We had $700 CAD in our pocket alongside the $700 USD for the remainder of what we owed them. Yes, Joy and Quentin asked for the balance in USD. Yes, Joy and Quentin are in over their heads running a small “hospitality” business.

The good news--we enjoyed all the amenities of a people-friendly HOTEL down the road and had an amazing trip!

My Husband and I had to travel back to St. Catharines to bury my father and didn't want to stay in a hotel. I found Old Port Bed & Breakfast and contacted Joy and Quentin. Instead of their wonderful B & B, they offered us their guest house. What a God send as it made a sad trip that much better. It was a wonderful 800 sq ft bungalow with two bedrooms, the back yard had a deck with a lovely gazebo with view of the henley. I wish it was my house, fabulously decorated, comfortable bed, cozy comforters. Our hosts even took the time to stock the fridge with all the basics and recommended several restaurants within easy walking distance. I was so thankful to have a comfortable place to come home to and it allowed me to relax. I was even able to have all my family over after the funeral with enough seats, dishes etc for everyone. Joy & Quentin are wonderful people who are certainly fabulous hosts, and I would recommend wonderful guest house as your home away from home!

We stayed at this B&B on May 11, 2013. It was a great option for our family of 4 as they offer a room with twin beds. The house is lovely with a beautiful garden, sitting area and dining room. Joy and Quentin are very kind and friendly and provide amazing service. The breakfast in the morning was AMAZING! I really appreciated the extra strong coffee and all the extra special touches they offered. They even gave us some snacks to take on the road. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to people traveling to the area.

Abolutely loved this B&B.

Stayed here for one night and wished it could have been for longer. The location is convenient walking distance to downtown Port Dalhousie and the house and the rooms are immaculate. From the moment my friend, my daughter and I walked in the door, Joy and Quinten could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Their delightul demeanor and friendliness made our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed in the Queen Anne Suite, its understated elegance and fully equipped ensuite (with clawfoot tub, toiletries, including a blowdryer) was just lovely. My daughter had the Royal Alex Suite, lots of lush bedding and abundant pillows, she found it hard to leave the room ....

Quinten made a delicious breakfast of eggs benedict -- served in their beautiful dining room along with fresh fruit, yogurt/granola, croissants, orange juice, coffee and tea. Fresh coffee, tea and bottled water are also available anytime day or night.

We plan on returning to this top notch establishment very soon -- a truly wonderful place with gracious hospitality.

Thank you Joy and Quinten

My wife and I stayed at Old Port B&B for a last minute anniversary getaway, but Joy and Quinten were so delightfully charming that it felt like we staying with old friends. The house was elegantly decorated and cleaned to perfection. Knowing it was our anniversary, Joy (or Quinten) had placed flowers in our room, petals on the bed and wine for us to enjoy. Their warm and caring demeanor infected everyone in the house and the other guests all seemed to easily make friends because of the environment of our hosts. Breakfast was tasty and the Eggs Benedict were an excellent start to mornings with pleasant conversation with other guests. To sum up our two day stay, we actually left with warm handshakes and hugs more akin to family than strangers. We will definitely be returning, perhaps with our wider family in the future!

We stayed at Old Port this year for the CSSRA regatta. What a perfect location, only one block from the grand stands, and a short distance to Henely Island.

The house is absolutely beautiful! Everything a about it was neat, clean and fresh. It is much larger than it looks in the pictures. Lovingly restored and decorated with an exquisite attention to detail.

Joy and Quinton were wonderful, and we immediately felt welcomed. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed and beautiful private bathroom. We slept peacefully each night.

We missed breakfast the first morning because we had to be to the regatta before 5:30am. (crazy rowers!) Joy and Quinton prepared fresh muffins and coffee for us to help us on our way. We savored breakfast the next two mornings! Quinton makes the best Eggs Benedict ever!

The house is great, but it was our hosts that made the weekend memorable. Joy and Quinton were so warm and welcoming. They took such good care of us. We enjoyed talking with them, ending the day with a glass of wine and a few laughs on the patio. We had a lot of fun.

We whole heartedly recommend Old Port. We have already booked again for next year!

We've visited st.catherines & niagara on the lake with my parents from Switzerland. The old port B&B was the perfect B&B. It is very clean, the owners super friendly & helpful. Our rooms were nicely furnished and inviting. We could also use the front porch and the outdoor patio. Great experience. Highly recommend it!
