I had the pleasure of spending a long term stay here over the spring and summer in Stratford. Of special note is the lovely view overlooking the garden out back from your personal balcony, which was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. I was impressed with some of the small decor details that gave the space that extra bit of charm. All the furnishings were very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was spacious. Theresa is a fantastic host, who was always friendly and personable (and when I had the opportunity to try sample cooking and baking, I was not disappointed!). In terms of location, the place is positioned perfectly for short walks to the water, parks, theatres and the always-exciting shops and restaurants of Stratford's downtown core. It was great to have such a nice place to come back to when not out exploring town to get some rest. Definitely recommend!…
Enjoyed two lovely nights at the Rosehurst B&B in Stratford, On. Thoroughly enjoyed our private, spacious upper deck to catch a few rays of the late Sept Sunshine. Our host Theresa was delightful and her breakfasts and cookies spectacular. Hope to return in the future.
Rosehurst is a perfect location with every thoughtful amenity you could possibly need. Theresa is a wonderful host, providing a delicious homemade breakfast, plus snack foods to satisfy those in-between needs for a bite. A beautiful, quiet & spacious room was enhanced by a peaceful yard & veranda for dining/reading. I'm so relaxed. I can't wait to return!
We spent three nights at Rosehurst and will be back for sure! The B&B is well situated in relation to all the theatre venues and restaurants and is lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts are creative, healthy and delicious and feature Theresa's home-grown produce. We enjoyed reading in the garden and eating breakfast on the second-floor porch. Theresa has taken steps to make sure all her guests remain safe and healthy.
Well it’s been about a year since our last trip to the Rosehurst in Stratford. We Return double vaccinated ,slightly less stressed, and the place and we are a bit more used to the “new normal”. There have been more renovations to the property since we were here a year ago. It has a lovely new iron entrance up to the second floor garden room (which is our usual room) from the back garden. It makes for a wonderful and private ascent. The view remains great and the backyard has been renovated with multiple spaces for properly distanced outdoor dining ( should you so desire). The indoor furnishings for our room and the set up are essentially the same as last year which is to say that it’s remained safe, extraordinarily clean and excellent. Breakfast remains a terrific gourmand event….Even if we can’t enjoy the company of the host and other guests as we used to pre-pandemic. The vibe in Stratford is better this year and there was the opportunity for outdoor events (concerts and plays) as well as both indoor and outdoor dining. A great, relaxing, safe, pleasant trip. Convenient location. Terrific breakfast and a host with your comfort and your safety clearly at heart. Recommended. Again.…
My wife and I just spent another lovely night at Rosehurst. Theresa is an attentive host and magnificent chef - the breakfasts are amazing! Love looking over the back yard and garden from the porch off our room - so restful. Looking forward to coming back to Rosehurst when we next visit Stratford.
The Marquee room was the perfect accommodation for my needs this August. The location is great and the room was quiet, tidy and very private. I loved the vine covered porch. It was the perfect nook for reading and doing some yoga after work. Teresa has done a great job making the room safe during the Covid outbreak. Highly recommended.
We have stayed at Rosehurst before and loved it. Convenient location, comfortable digs, exceptional breakfast and wonderful host. But....How was this going to work in Covid times??? We needed a break. We needed a SAFE break. A night at the Rosehurst was set up in a way that made me comfortable coming out of our covid exile. Separate entrance. Cleanliness above an already superb standard with Covid protocols that make sense to those who appreciate evidence based decisions. A safe place set up to eat our take out meals if we didn’t want to eat outside at Stratford’s communal Covid safe dining areas. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. Private washroom. There is a Walk out balcony that we were able to use for relaxing, drinks and breakfast. Obviously a different vibe in Stratford right now but still a pleasant get away and the Rosehurst has done a great job ensuring your comfort and making you feel like you are very welcomed and very safe. …
We’d been to Rosehurst before as B&B guests and loved it, but who could predict it would make such a great retreat during the pandemic? When reconfiguring it as self-isolating suites, they though of everything! Still impeccably clean and charming, with a comfy bed and soft, beautiful linens, but now with a mini-fridge/freezer and cute table for two. We stayed in the Garden Room, which also has a large balcony with a view over the big back garden. When it was a B&B, we loved being spoiled with homemade breakfasts. This time, we were greeted with a freshly-baked loaf of bread and a mini fridge/freezer with some goodies such as homemade yogurt and granola. Delicious. For the rest of our meals, we chose to pickup from local restaurants and eat-in (plates, cutlery, etc... were all supplied by Rosehurst, in addition to tea &coffee fixings and a French press). Stratford is well-organized for Covid and had the weather been nice, we could easily have enjoyed some of the many patios and parks for al fresco dining. As it was, we took advantage of the free wifi to watch Netflix. Being high risk, we really appreciated the very stringent anti-Covid protocols which allowed us to really relax completely. It was a perfect getaway, so much so that we plan to return very soon! Theatre festival or no, it’s a great little town and the Rosehurst is so central, you can walk to everything.…
6 weeks at the Rosehurst was my gift to myself for rest, recalibrating, adventure and attending classes through the Stratford Chefs School. One of my many summer surprises included weekend floating barge free concerts, a 7 minute stroll from the Rosehurst B&B. The Rosehurst location is lovely. Clean, quiet, convenient and close to everything. I had the ideal en-suite, clean spacious bedroom with a private garden view veranda (room #4). I enjoyed many hand harvested organic salad treats from Chef Theresa's organic garden and delighted in her handcrafted scones, yoghurt, pickles+more. Daily reading in the garden & walks to town and to the Avon River refreshed my mind and soul. I never knew sleeping ducks and resting Swans could be so calming! I have found a treasure in Stratford and am happy to share:) My return visits are being calendared and all without needing to book a flight-bonus!…
