Detailed Reviews
Sally's place went above and beyond to make our Stratford stay wonderful. Lovely breakfast options, close to all amenities, clean and plenty of room for all our guests. Being able to walk around- we took the train from Guelph was an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the lovely accomodations!

We have been coming to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford for many, many years. Back when our son was in school, we stayed at Sally's Place on Waterloo, across the river and just loved it. When that building was sold, we were crushed. We tried other B & B's, but haven't been satisfied. This year we stayed in one of the two buildings run as Sally's Place on Ontario Street and we couldn't be happier. Seriously, we had a beautifully maintained full apartment. Sally's Place runs "self catering" B $ B's. So, your breakfast foods are left in the refrigerator or the kitchen the day before. You can enjoy your breakfast at the time you want. We like to eat pretty heathy and many choices at traditional B & B's are very rich. At Sally's place, we had fruit, juices, coffee, baked goods and little treats like cheeses and speciality butters. We brought some cereal and were perfectly set. The apartment was beautifully decorated without overwhelming you - and meticulously clean. Everything is very modern. We had more room than we could have ever needed - even two porches to sit out on. We were walking distance from all of the theaters. And the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

My wife and I travel extensively for work and pleasure, and have done so for 24 years spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, South America, and of course the Americas. We are fairly particular about where we stay and the standards of service. We live in Manhattan and are avid theater lovers, and so finding the right "home" in Stratford was really important to us.
We discovered Sally's Place over a decade back, and have stayed both at their current location, and their earlier Waterloo Street location in Stratford. These are impeccably maintained, spacious, comfortable, apartment suites that allow you to "live" here while in Stratford gracefully and enjoyably, and not just "stay" here.
You have perfect privacy, yet daily housekeeping is attended to seamlessly at a convenient time, the kitchen is well appointed and well stocked, so for those who wish to make breakfast, have a quick pre-theater meal, or enjoy a light late supper, you have the ability to do so. Yet the delightful property is also easy walking distance from all the theaters, from the wonderful Stratford restaurants, from the enchantingly quaint shopping, cafes, parks and lake.
Barb, who manages the property, is a caring presence, and eager to help with any advance reservations needed, and she ensures any rare maintenance issues are promptly and expertly attended to.
The suites are very well appointed, spacious, we are always comfortable, at peace, and able to fully revel in Stratford, its theater and other delights. I can't offer a better tribute!

We have just returned from our second stay at Sally's Place.
First time: Virgnia Woolf suite; this time Ralph Waldo Emerson suite.
Superb location, superb setting for a family stay to enjoy the plays at Stratford's Festival.
We have stayed here with our parents, our kids and the spacious apartments did not feel crowded.
With fully stocked kitchen, hearty breakfasts, impeccably clean and well-appointed amenities, Barb the manager, has built a great place to stay. Walking distance to all three theatres and downtown, wifi and internet, balconies and privacy, we could not ask for more. No need to drive unless you want to. We were able to eat in for breakfast, cook up a quick dinner before the play, laze around as we needed to, all the comforts of home and better: the apartments were cleaned and breakfast re-stocked each day.
Thanks again Barb and we will be back I am certain.

Book early though, because Sally's Place has repeat customers.

We loved our stay at Sally’s Place the last weekend in October 2023 and will definitely be back.
Extremely comfortable and well-equipped accommodations with lots of extra, unexpected details: the well-stocked fridge (fresh fruit, muffins, bacon, eggs, bread, milk, butter etc) plus teas, coffee etc was a delightful and very welcome surprise. Also bathrobes, copious amounts of towels, the very efficient and useful washer and dryer.
The various suites are spread over two adjacent properties (with free parking onsite) and are within ~10 minutes walking distance of just about anywhere one might need to visit in Stratford (theatres, “downtown”, the train station, intercity bus stops, river walks and gardens etc) and a 5 minute drive to a very comprehensive shopping mall with just about any store one might need :).
Specifics about the Ralph Waldo Emerson suite:
it has a private entrance and the actual suite is up a flight of stairs. On the main (up the stairs) level there’s a very spacious living and dining area, plus a well-appointed kitchen, a large full bathroom and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a king bed which can be separated into 2 singles with advance notice and the other has a very comfortable double-sized pullout couch. There is also a large balcony on this level.
Then there is another *huge* bedroom with a king bed (also possible to separate into 2 singles) and a very spacious full bathroom up a short flight of (quite steep) stairs from the main level.
At ground level there’s a very large porch with seating areas.
All in all we loved the place :) Barbara the property manager was wonderfully helpful during the entire booking and arrival process.

Staying in the Virginia Woolfe suite when we visit the festival is part of our tradition. 2 bedrooms each with own bath, large living room and kitchen as well as small deck with table and chairs give lots of options for lounging, snacking and dining. Comfortable and well located in Stratford. Much thought is given to the comfort of guests.

Our multi-generational family has been staying here for a week each summer for about 10 years and always has a great time. Very comfortable, affordable accommodations with a GREAT location and the owners are attentive and easy to work with. We just finished our annual trip and look forward to booking again next summer!

Lovely, comfortable accommodations, close to theatre, restaurants and shops. We've been coming for years because the hospitality is SO special. Barb tries to think of everything to meet your needs and sometimes you even get baked treats made by Sally herself.
Once you've tried staying here, you won't want to go anywhere else.

Stayed in the Jane Austen room Air B& B. Very comfy and they also provide you with nice snacks and Jane Austen related reading material. My daughter and I enjoyed our overnight. The price was good as well.
