We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ambercroft. Leanne, the new owner, is an outstanding host, welcoming, knowledgeable about Stratford and the Festival, and possessing a delightful sense of humour. Her sister, Julie, prepares delicious breakfasts that are beautifully presented, filling but not excessive, and healthy. The house has been thoughtfully restored. There are four spacious bedrooms to choose from....

My friends and I have been staying at Ambercroft for a girls' weekend for years. Now under new ownership, I can say that Leanne McPhie (our Host) is doing a wonderful job! She's made some changes to be even more welcoming for guests. There is a large living room, library and kitchenette available for guests, as well as outdoor seating...

We had such a wonderful stay :-) I surprised my husband with an overnight at Ambercroft after a show and the owner and her sister, who is also the cook, were incredibly friendly and clearly love having a bed and breakfast. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates from Rheo Thompson in honor of my husbands birthday, which went...

We stayed over night at the Ambercroft in order to take in one of Stratford's many productions, 42nd Street in July 2012. The Ambercroft is located on a quiet street, minutes from downtown Stratford and approximately 20 mins walk to the theater. It is a quaint, historic period house that makes you feel right at home the minute you walk...

We are sorry to say Ambercroft Bed and Breakfast should be avoided at all costs. Based on many reviews posted here, it sounded like a wonderful place to stay...and it may have been once, but no longer. These owners told us they want to sell the business and made it clear they no longer enjoy dealing with guests at their...

The Ambercroft has so many things to recommend it. Of course, location, location, and location has to be at the top of the list. The Ambercroft is just beyond the very center of town and is in walking distance to the theatres, restaurants, shops, and the swans at the lake. The generous rooms are attractively furnished and impeccably clean. Our...

My husband and I have stayed in a few B&Bs in Stratford before staying at Ambercroft. Now, we only stay at Ambercroft. The hosts, Rob and Sophie, are so helpful and considerate. Their recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area have always been great. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and well kept. The common areas for guests...

My wife and several of our friends make an annual trip to Stratford. We have been doing this for the last 17 years. We had stayed in a few other places in the beginning and the Ambercroft is by far the best in town. DO NOT hesitate to stay here. Rob and Sophie are top notch people and top notch...

My husband and I had been coming to Stratford for many years, and had stayed in a number of great B&Bs. After a 10-year hiatus, we decided to start coming to the Festival again and found Ambercroft a few years ago. We've been staying there for around 5 years now. We come with another couple and stay 4 nights in...

My husband and I have been staying at Ambercroft since Rob and Sophia began running their Bed and Breakfast. The hosts are generous with their time and extremely helpful. “It looks like all rooms can be set up with a King bed or 2 twin beds, which is great. The Summer room can get a bit warmer than the others.”

“Al four rooms seem to be similar. Ours was #2 and it was just fine with a good sitting area”

“I think they are all pretty much equivalent—let Leanne know what you want. The house is on a quiet street so I don't think there are any noisy rooms. It was a very hot spell yet the temperature in the house was always perfect for me. Each room has a ceiling fan and windows that open. We were traveling with my sister and brother-in-law and they, too, were quite content.”
