I would run away to The Swan for a staycation. Or a retro romantic weekend. Or just to enjoy their fantastic pool and garden. The rooms are retro seventies decor, but with very comfortable beds, flat screen tv, a little fridge, and super internet. Everything is clean and in good repair. The They are following Covid protocols. The price is fair. And the owners are lovely. Highly recommended.
Heading to visit family and arriving early...came from Jersey City and happy to find something close. Easy check in...nice room...bit small but clean, good bed and nice shower! Like the fact that the staff was so helpful! Renovations are in progress but did not impact our stay at all! .
A bunch of us (4 couples) decided to avoid the long drive home after seeing a play in Stratford and made reservations at the Swan Motel and couldn't have been happier. Rooms are comfortable with everything you need and so clean! Will definitely be our "go to" when we plan our next visit.
This is your basic old style motel. Family run or appears to be. It is just a little outside of Stratford but well located to get to the Theater venues but definitely too far to walk. Rooms are basic queen two beds with a small fridge. It was very busy guests going to the theater but we were not at all bothered by noise. If you don't mean the 5 minute drive it is a good opinion when visiting in Stratford. They offer muffins and coffee at breakfast but we preferred to getting a full breakfast close by. As we visited in late September we can't comment on the pool but the grounds were very well maintained and the flowers beautiful.
Thanks to friends of ours who have stayed at The Swan Motel in the past, we were guided to this motel for our two-day stay in Stratford. The place is first-rate. The room we had, with two comfortable queen beds, was large and airy and so very clean. The motel is basic but still provides a coffee maker and all the amenities one needs on the road. In addition, there is coffee and excellent muffins available from 8:00. The owners are pleasant and, contrary to most places, only take payment as you leave. The only drawback for a first-time visitor is finding it as it is not conspicuous from the road even though there are clear signs. I suggest checking it out on Google (as we did) and it is quite easy from that point. Overall a wonderful experience worth repeating
It is a motel, one-story, L-shaped, with a front office serving muffins and coffee or tea in the morning, and cars parked in front of each room. It reminded me of the motels of my youth, and I loved it. The rooms are clean and look out on a garden which lies alongside the swimming pool. The proprietess (sorry I don't remember her name) is charming, and extremely knowledgeable about the Shakespeare Festival theatre performances (I wish I had talked to her about them over the phone when I called to make the reservation). Altogether a charming throwback. I will stay there again on my next visit.
From the outside this looks like a motel that has been frozen in time for decades. But the room we had was obviously recently redone. All the now standard expectations of conveniences were met, such as WiFi that works in the room, a flat-screen television, coffee maker, fridge. The room was very comfortable. And it was nice to be able to park right outside our door. We received a friendly, helpful greeting upon arrival. The location is good for theatre goers, although I doubt many would want to walk to the Avon Theatre from the motel. A downside was the inconvenient location of electrical outlets necessary these days to charge tablets and phones. Also, someone with a mobility disability, such I have, might find it difficult to handle the concrete steps up to the office. One of the reasons I booked this motel was that all the rooms were on the ground level.…
We have stayed here three years in a row and find it a great place to stay. It is convenient to downtown and the theaters and many restaurants. The owners are very nice and helpful. It is an old style motel which makes it very easy to pull up in front of the door and unload. We would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Stratford.
The whole property is very clean and welcoming. The coffee and muffins in the office promotes a social start to your day. Everything is at your finger tips! The owner is quite the gardener and so graciously shared a plant I have never seen. Thank you Sir!
We were upgraded to a room with 2 queen beds that also had a sitting area. There was also a bar fridge below a mirror and sink in the main room that was very handy.Coffee maker and teabags also available in the room. Enjoyed cooling off in the pool that is in their very pretty shaded garden. Coffee and muffins available in the morning was a nice touch as well. We had an issue with the toilet and the manager came right away to fix.
