Detailed Reviews
70 Wellington Street is a door. From across the street you can see the name above the door identifying the location. Check in is at the restaurant at number 72. The free parking described on Hotels.com is located in the parking lot behind the building accessible from Erie Street. Travel light because it's a 21 step vertical assent to rooms number 1 & 2. Room 1 is a cozy studio apartment. Wifi is iffy. I had to rely on data on iPhone and iPad. Fridge, microwave and Keurig coiffe maker provided. Blackout pull down shades a must since street lights a directly outside the room.
There is a couch, two bucket chairs and a small dining table with two chairs.
About a 20 minute walk to the Festival Theatre - shorter walks to the Avon and Tom Patterson theatres.

No housekeeping, dirty linens and lots of stairs. The free parking is also a few blocks away. No one is available in the evening if you need assistance. The location is good, just steps to most things.

The hotel is hard to find. In fact, it consists of three (large, comfortable) rooms above a place called "Pizza Bistro." There is a sign saying "Wellington Street Inn" which is noticeable once you are there, but we drove past it (and tried to check into another place!) before arriving at the right spot. We checked in with a waitress at the bistro who gave us a room key and pointed to a flight of stairs. That was it for the staff on this one night stay. We had to ascend two long flights of stairs to get to our room. The stairs were covered with well worn carpeting and we were a little leery of what we had done as we climbed. The good news is that the room was spotless, enormous, nicely appointed, with couch, chairs, kitchen facilities, microwave, small fridge, coffee machine and iron. We had enormous trouble connecting to the internet (and were about to go back down to the bistro, with reluctance!) when one of us discovered that the password, listed as pizzabistro***, required a capital P and B. The room was quiet. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of a charming city. We had a good night.

Room Tip: Little choice. Just three rooms. Ours faced the front, but this is a very quiet town.

+1
This was by far the worst hotel / guest room experience I have ever had. The owners and booking.com had the audacity to describe the room as a “suite”. What a misrepresentation. It’s a small, dirty and broken down bedroom with a tiny bathroom. The carpets are stained, the walls are smeared with heaven knows what, the paint is chipped and cracked, the smoke detector is broken and hanging from the ceiling, the bathroom door is warped and doesn’t close, there is no toilet paper. dispenser, the furniture is dirty and stained, there was a broken treadmill stored in the room obstructing passage from the bed. The TV didn’t work and management just said they were in the process of upgrading. This certainly needs upgrading. Don’t even think of staying here.

Awful. Terrible. Gross.
One review I read - too late - described it as a college dorm room, but that was far too generous. Beaten up old furniture, chipped and stained. A rug covered in stains front to back. Even round bottle stains. The bathroom door - !!! - did not close. Really. You could not close the bathroom door. And no counter space in the bathroom for your essentials. Just a small end table that had the towels piled on it because, of course, there were no hooks or rails for towels. Oh, and no parking. We were directed to a public lot a few blocks away. All this for nearly $300 a night, off season.
I have been going to Stratford for four decades, and this was far and away the worst hotel I have ever experienced there. Would never return.

TERRIBLE!!! This "Inn" does not qualify to be listed as a hotel. It is a few rooms above a commercial strip with a paper sign on the door and no on-site staff. Given the noise and general squalor we felt obliged to leave without staying. The failure to address concerns and arrange a refund exposes this as an organised scam business model. No respectable site should carry a listing for this disgraceful enterprise. Zero marks for all concerned.

The location was great. We were in walking distance to everything.
I watched the boat races on the Avon river. They were spectacular.
The chocolates are amazing. The shopping is unique.
When staying at the inn we were a stone throw from the parlour inn.

Our friend found a large hair in his bed. The hallway carpets continue to be extremely soiled. The a/c blows right on the bed. The coffee makers don't work - or don't work easily (neither of us could make them work). We've loved this place in the past; this is our third time, but it definitely was not a charm. We also misplaced our room key (yes, our fault), but there was NO after-hours contact. If we hadn't luckily found it, we likely would have waited until 4 pm the next day when the restaurant opened to get our things. There should be at least an answering service.

In the heart of downtown Stratford, this inn is a great find. It was comfortable, very quiet and with a wonderfully large, beautifully tiled shower. For someone who is tall, this spacious shower was quite the treat for me! Easy check in and check out with a delicious restaurant downstairs.

I loved this place. Clean, spacious studio apartment located right in the middle of town. Walking distance to theaters, park, restaurants. I felt like a local! The inn is owned by the proprietors of pizza bistro (fantastic Greek food and pizza!) and is located right above their restaurant. While there is no lobby or concierge service, the owners are pretty much always downstairs in the restaurant and are very willing to help if you need anything. I really wanted to have some alone time this trip and so I loved having my own apartment and not having to make idle chitchat with a bed and breakfast host every morning. But if you wanted company, the restaurant was great and the owners friendly so you could easily spend time with them downstairs.
Bathroom clean. Comfy bed. Tons of space. Fridge, coffee and coffee maker,
a/c, couch, 2 additional seating areas. Only con was the tv was broken. I didn't mind this, but if you are someone who needs a tv then ask for a room other than room 1.
