We stayed one night at Canadiana Motel. We arrived after 10 pm. The hotel staff were kind and the room was clean. Everything worked except for the T. V. I think we could have asked for help but it was late so we just went to sleep. Our room was next to an alley way and there was no noise outside all night.

The hotel looks sort of run down but I think the couple who manage it, are renovating the Motel as I could see them working on the building as we left the next morning.

So, all in all, if you need a place that is safe and relatively clean, this hotel is a fine place to lay your head.

All motels were booked from Manitoulin Island right through to Barrie so we felt lucky to find this place with signs saying, "New Rooms" It is located across from the only restaurant for miles, Timmies, where there was an informal Biker gathering. Our "New Room" was as bare bones as they come. The "New Carpeting" was dirty and had burn marks all over it. The room smelled dirty and as luxurious as a rowboat! We were charged full price $75.00 plus an extra fee of $10.00 for our six pound hypoallergenic dog who was crated during our stay. Definitely a place to sleep when you can't drive further but not one to enjoy

We negotiated a cheaper price but really should have checked out the room. Paid 75 taxes in but really more of a 65 dollar joint. Clean, not really updated, nothing too scarey but there was a big brown smear of something on one of the pillows that were mainly responsible for the negativity. That and walking through cigarette buts as we left. I agree there are nicer places for the money but it IS clean (except for one pillow) wouldn't stay again but on a budget might do for most.

This motel should be shut down. I would have rated 0 if I could. The pictures speak for themselves. I wouldn’t even pay $5 to sleep here. Stay far far away. There was a piece of crack pipe glass on the floor and blood and stains everywhere. We ended up leaving and not staying at all.

Our group came here for a stay because everywhere else was sold out in Sudbury. This was an awful decision. The first thing we saw on the sign was "newly renovated". This could have been true if the year was 1976. This hotel is a dump. Our room smelled like smoke, and there were kids in the room. The unbearable stench couldn't be masked, so we could not sleep. The beds are very uncomfortable and the sinks and the bathroom is scary. This is absolutely the worst place anyone could have been to. Also on the sign, it claims free wifi, but the wifi doesn't get to the rooms!!

We stopped for one night in a single room on our way to southern ontario from Thunder Bay. After a 12 hour drive in snow covered roads with poor visibility we were exausted. After Being told we were given a "deal" of $65 a night we figured sure why not. Opening the room door was like stepping into a freezer. There are two heaters located in the room, one not working at all and the other barely works (heated only through hot water pipe running through it). We turned the "working" heater on full blast and left for dinner. After an hour we returned to a still near frozen room. After calling the front desk to mention this they sent someone up to take a look but he said it was working fine. To stay warm we leaned up against the heater until using our own blankets we had brought on our road trip to go to bed.

The place wasn't clean. The garbage bag in the room was used as it still had ashes in the bottom of the bag (we had a smoking room). Bathroom sink was in horrible shape and our bed sheets were not clean.

The only good thing about this room was the cable TV and Wifi. We will not be staying here again and would not recommend anyone to stay here.

My non smoking room stunk like weed. The room was 84$ so I asked for a discount he said he already did the single rooms are normally 96$ a night. I told him I read a review that rooms were 70 or less. Then he said he'll give it to me for 70 plus tax ..which was 79 $. My take is these guys are out to screw you for terrible rooms!

The price was about $80 for the dirty room. The rooms were clearly designed in the 60s and the tv looked like it was as well. There was old crusty food on the floor, the beds were hard and did not at smell remotely fresh. There was only 1 small soap and 1 small shampoo that were clearly stolen from other hotels. The towels smelt moldy. There was no coffee provided just small cups clearly labelled Holiday Inn. There was no listings anywhere that no guests were allowed until we checked in to the motel. This is insane for any motel especially one that looks like a place that hookers would frequent. The place advertised free wifi, however it had a password that was not posted anywhere. When we got there we were literally the only car in the whole parking lot. It looked like we were the only customers that night (which should have tipped us off) I had to track down the clerk, which wasn't easy then when we did find her we had to wait for her to finish her phone call (my boyfriend and I stood there for literally 15 mins, we were checking our phones for the time since we had plans to meet with friends that we previously didn't know couldn't come to our motel and wanted to use the wifi that night when we got back). We got there late and already had plans with friends so we just decided to spend the night and never go back. In the morning when checking out we advised to clerk of the old crusty food on the floor and she actually said " oh well you should've come and got me earlier" yes because we should have done something about our unclean room at 1:00 am, after we paid for a clean one. When we advised her that the room was unclean and asked for a discount on the price, she proceeded to argue with us saying no and that the room was clean and we should have gotten her earlier. She actually raised her voice and tried to tell us that regardless of the food and dirt left in our room it was clean and should have to pay full price. After some arguing back and forth she finally offered 10% off our next stay, like we would ever go back to a dirty motel with horrible service. When I told her that was not acceptable and that we had not received what we paid for right then and wanted this resolved now she went on to say oh well the other rooms are clean and that she was unable to do that for us. Finally after us not leaving and asking for a discount she provided about $7.50 back onto our card. She was dismissive, rude about it, yelled, tried to justify the dirty room and her actions. The service was the worst ever experienced and the room was dirty. Do not stay here.

The price was kind of cheap but this hotel was horrible. The sign says the room are renovated but surely our was not. The paint on the walls was peeling, There was an old, dirty (full of stains around the beds) carpet, and the furniture was old and broken. The sheets were spotted and ripped and the bathroom was dirty. We even saw some little bugs on the morning and then realized we were bitten by some during the night.

I definitely suggest to avoid this place. It surely worts paying 20 or 30 bucks more to sleep somewhere else.

This motel was very busy and extremely clean. The management is very caring and customer service oriented. She works very hard and is always busy taking care of the guests. Great location near restaurants and stores.
