Good experience here. Very large room. Clean with no funny or musty smells. Very large parking lot. Wish we had time to try out the restaurant. Staff at check in and check out were very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice place with real home cooked meals at the restaurant. Not fancy but clean. Very friendly staff! Easy to get to and good location. Would recommend for quick trips to Sudbury! We would go back because the price was right!

Stayed here as the base for a 2 day snowmobile trip. Basic accommodation, in need of some updating. My wife commented that this is the first motel she has ever stayed at for a long time without a hair dryer!!. A little noisy being so close to HWY 17 but not too bad. We were not given a card for free breakfast as mentioned by previous reviewers. Maybe this policy has changed. Website also claims "Snowmobiler Package". This was not offered to us and when I asked about it I was just told the regular room rate. The restaurant offers good food, the poutine is excellent with real Curds. Not many tables and only one wait staff. Be careful of the "specials" as you're not saving any $$ when compared to the regular menu price.
It is an excellent starting point for snowmobiling with direct trail access, plenty of room for trailers and sled parking in from of your room.

Be careful ! There is a little tricky advertising on booking, com website for Chateau Guay motel in Sudbury.
Breakfast is not free unless you reserved with booking.com
Even if you make a phone call for reservation you won't get free breakfast.
After 3 days staying at that motel, I had to pay back all my breakfasts.
Unfortunately, it doesn't leave a pleasant souvenir from the place.

For many years this was our place of choice for big groups or small groups. Now this year there is new owners and the friendly service we all enjoyed for so many years is never to be seen again. Nobody is ever in the office to help you. They have a camera for you to push a button and they come to help you from another location so you get the pleasure of standing outside in rain or shine for 10 or 15 minutes till they show up to give you crappy service. They are terrible at holding reservations. They take your reservation but when you show up from a long ride they tell you that they don’t have a room for you and haven’t been very caring or take any care that you are out of a place to stay and about their own mistakes or in anyway polite about it. The rooms are barely cleaned. Dirty floors dirty beds. All the extras the old owners had for their guests to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable are gone. Our big groups that always enjoyed staying here have now decided to stay at the neighbouring motel called moonlight inn because of the better service and the trust of having a reserved room available after travelling many hours. They also have a free breakfast at moonlight inn. The new owners decided to close the restaurant at chateau Guay so now the new owners have taken away yet another great service the previous owners offered. The lazy cleaning and rude service and non existing service in the office really has ruined this once great motel. Please dont waste your time with this outdated dirty motel. And I have gone through the other reviews and all of the reviews are from when it was owned by the previous owners not from the new owners that have recently taken over this once great motel. I’ve read them all last year with old owners. Terrible to see this happen.and to reassure you, we have tried multiple times this year to give the new owners a chance just in case it was a bad day or a simple mistake but ending up with the same crappy results and friends being without a room every time we tried. 2 thumbs down after giving multiple tries.

We had made a reservation at Chateau Guay a week in advance and at that time we were asked to let the motel know if we were going to check in later than 9 pm. After 9 hours of driving it was determined that we would not be arriving until approximately 8:30 but in the event of traffic or construction I contacted the motel to advise that. Fifteen minutes later my cell phone rang to tell us that our room had been given away that morning and that the motel was full. It was suggested that we might want to try the motel across the street, which when.we inquired was also full. Fortunately I had a data plan and we were in an area to get a connection, and after numerous calls we were able to secure a room in another town and had to amend our travel plans accordingly.

Our family had a great stay here during the Ontario Summer Games. The motel staff were very accommodating. Our daughter and myself were in the Summer Games so we needed a room for my husband and 3 other children for 5 nights and then another room for the last 2 nights since our whole family would be at the motel. The staff made sure our rooms were beside each other, which was most convenient since we have some younger children. The rooms themselves were quite roomy and very clean(I felt completely comfortable in the rooms and bathrooms). Everything was updated, we even had new refrigerators delivered while we were there. There was even a microwave in one room, which was very convenient. We always had fresh towels and they delivered extras when we needed them. The air conditioning was a blessing since it was so hot. The beds were very comfortable and the area around was very quiet. For us, the location couldn't have been better. It was right in between the Cambrian College where my daughter and myself were housed and the venue where her events took place. It is also was not far from Moonlight Beach on Ramsey Lake, which was a great place to cool off since it was incredibly hot that week. This motel also has a restaurant with good home cooked meals. To top it all off, their prices are very reasonable (both motel and restaurant). Also, on the morning we were to check out we had some unfortunate and distressing circumstances occur. The owners and staff were very understanding and allowed for the fact that we were unable to check out at the exact time needed. They told us to take our time and even helped with some phone calls we needed to make. This helped us so much. If you are looking for a luxury spa like hotel, this isn't it. But if you want a comfortable, clean, quiet, reasonable and friendly place to stay, then I do not hesitate to recommend the Chateau Guay Motel. We will definitely stay here whenever we return to Sudbury.

We stayed here as a family when we did our move to Ontario. The room was very nice, clean, and had a great price. We did have to wait a bit even after ringing the bell to get service and to get our room but when the lady arrived she was really nice and friendly. The restraunt was also pretty good. It's a good stop if your going through and need a place to stay and eat.

The young lady at the front desk is rude and should not be in the hospitality business.

Our group had two rooms and this young lady provided us with incorrect information that could have been easily corrected with an apology. Instead she tried to lie her way out of the situation. Given that the motel is just a basic property I'd give this place a pass unless you are desperate.
