Have used the property a few times and it’s nice to see improvements.

We booked two nights but at different times as we weren’t sure of our plans. The attendant at the desk was able you adjust the booking so that we didn’t need to change rooms.
Breakfast was good, adequate selection and very friendly attendant.
My only comment would be that the windows, certainly the exterior, really need to be cleaned.

Traveling from MB to Ontario and decided to pre book hotel rooms after doing research and reading trip advisor reviews. I look at prices online and then call the hotel directly. There was a considerable price difference and so I had to book online and opted to pay a bit extra so I could have a room that we could access from the outside and park right outside our room as well. I arrive to check in, it goes quickly but they gave those rooms away even though I reserved that room and paid extra. Our room was basic but clean. The hall we were in had people coming and going constantly until approx 1:30am (Wednesday in Oct) Slept extremely poorly because of the noise. The hotel offers you breakfast with your stay, it is a brown paper bag with a muffin, juice and fruit cup, very disappointing. I probably would not opt to stay here again. The price was average and it was good access to the hwy home, gas station directly across the street from where we were staying, so that was convenient.

The reviews for this place were not strong but we were pleasantly surprised. We had a nice king-size room which was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and we had an excellent sleep. The breakfast was fantastic during a pandemic! A staff person told us the options and packed what we wanted in a bag to eat in our room. There were tons of options and we enjoyed the warm breakfast very much. Would stay here again. Good location near shopping, restaurants and gas stations.

We have stayed at this hotel over the last 3 years numerous times due to medical visits with specialists. This hotel has improved so much over the years and has been recently renovated. So nice to see the elimination of the carpets and replace with vanilla flooring. Hallways were very bright, well lit and clean. Breakfast is plentiful and good. Snacks are available at the front desk (vending machine) for a small fee. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. We have many more trips to Thunder Bay for medical purposes unfortunately and the Comfort Inn will be our first choice of hotels. Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel room looks worn....maybe worn out. The rooms have a noisy air conditioner that works well, the bathroom has worn caulking, the bathtub is stained and the bathroom fan was the noisier ever.
The breakfast was good but the breakfast area is relatively dark and quite cramped feeling. Have you ever had see-through bacon? Well, I didn't even know that see-through bacon existed until I stayed here.

I think the entire hotel needs to be refurbished with a larger brighter breakfast room in order for guests to feel really comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly, though.

Very nice staff. We broke down outside and we’re able to get a room right away with early check in. Staff was accommodating. Pet friendly rooms for a fee. Room was big and comfortable. Continental breakfast included-had eggs, bacon, bagels, waffle station, etc. wifi and TV worked great. Tub was clogged but they may not have known. Good location for walking places. Checked out late after 2 night stay and they let us sit in the lobby with our pets until we heard from our mechanic at 430. Understanding people and comfortable atmosphere!

Upon check in I was asked at the front desk about a mask, I politely informed the man I was medically exempt, no problem, until the morning. I was denied take out breakfast as the woman failed to recognize my exemption. I have been living out of hotel rooms for a month all over Ontario and was not denied anywhere else

If you're traveling with young children DO NOT stay at Comfort Inn Thunder bay. The guy at the front desk was going to refuse us a room because we had 3 children. One of them is 5 months old and sleeps in a playpen. He said he will make an exception this once because they are kids, the lady at the breakfast table on the 3rd floor says you have 5 people in your room. My husband says yes a baby she says oh I guess they will let anything happen these days...I guess they do as there had been a guy drug dealing out of his room all night people coming and going all hours. Such a shame they need to learn customer service from the North Battleford Comfort Inn..exceptional. Shame we will jot be saying at a comfort inn again

I am sorry you experienced this level of service. While we do NOT have a 3rd floor, there is an adjacent hotel (with a different name) that you have described. I believe you may have stayed at an alternate hotel in Thunder Bay. Please be aware the Comfort Inn, Thunder Bay permits families with children in all of our guestrooms, and we provide complimentary cribs Should your travels bring you back to our city, we would be pleased to demonstrate our high levels of guest services and satisfaction. Best regards,

We have traveled by car across the country a number of times, staying at various motels. A few years ago I stayed at this establishment and thought I would book it once again for this trip.
What an utter disappointment. Our check in staff was rather casual, not overly interested. Upon reaching our room and getting organizzed, there was no soap in the washroom, one of the reading lights by the bed did not have a light bulb, the desk lamp switch was broken and I had to unplug it from an extension outlet on the floor.
