So, this will be a long cautionary tale. Just don't go there. Just don't. My friend and I have no problem with bad decor, semi dad customer service, or old outdated fixtures. The first thing that assaults your senses upon entering this establishment is the foul odor produced by whatever died in there previously masked by a discussing cone air... More

This motel is in a not very good area of town. The outside of the motel is very unkempt with trash and old decrepit chairs in front of each room. The rooms have not been updated in some time although my room did have a fairly new and nice shower surround. The daily 'housekeeping' was minimal at best. The room... More

The Old Country Motel experience was not the most endearing. We had a toilet overflow and the guy gave us a dirty mop to clean it up ourselves. Not exactly customer service oriented, I'll tell you. Then we saw the owner get into a shouting match with another guest in the parking lot because they had four pets and he... More

Second time we have stayed here. Love the cute little rooms. Heating is nice and warm. Showers get super hot. Shampoo and soaps provided. Beds really very comfy, and clean. Perfect road side cheap MOTEL experience. People complaining should go and stay in a hotel, and pay more. This is a road side motel, it's supposed to have a touch... More

It's not what you are looking for!! Certainly you won't enjoy your stay because the owner doesn't want to spend a dime for his place.. my room was smelling like mix of smoke and a deodorant! spider web every where, dust every where... youuuuugh! Wifi just works near the window. In bathroom you will find every fixtures bought from Dollarama....... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who was not welcoming. Was given the keys to our room which smelt heavily like cigarette smoke, keep in mind this is a non smoking room and the bed in that room was from the 60's... very uncomfortable. I went back and he upgraded our room with no questions. We entered the... More

The place is good. It's just that the management don't turn on hot water until evening and that too for 2 hrs. It's the worst customer service too. As he told us to move out within 5 mins to the other motel..

In the past I have worked in the Hotel/motel business and I have never encountered an experience as I did Upon checking into the Old Country Motel. The staff was not properly trained for check-ins/check-outs and seemed quite surprised that I was even arriving even though I had a reservation booked through Bookings.com. I paid through Interac and asked the... More

Didn't know what to expect, but I was pleased! Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Area looks a little dodgey because it's near the harbour, but I would definitely stay here again. No place close by to eat is a bit of a pain if you don't have a car.

I actually really like this place. It has a little kitchen with a oven and mini fridge. Has brand new air conditioner. Has 2 bed that are divided by a wall (perfect) 👍 has a big flat screen TV. Has free wifi honestly for 60 bucks this place is the bomb. I come to thunderbay a couple of times a... More

“The rooms at the front are a little noisier with road traffic, so ask for the ones at back. He has Different beds in the rooms, some are harder, others softer, so let him know your preference and he will give you the right room. In fact he will let you check the beds out first !”
