I was there for a very short stay; arrived at midnight, to pick up a rental car and leave the next morning so I just needed a clean comfortable quiet place to stay that wasn't too $$. This should have been fine for that. It's definitely a bit outdated but for the price... I mean look - if it's quick stay, if you aren't staying in the room, or you're with a family and just enjoying the pool, it would be "fine". HOWEVER.... The place is large, and I'm a female traveling by myself. I was followed to my room, and I was really uncomfortable also being on the ground floor. I did delay getting into the room, but I still felt unsettled, which was further exacerbated by rude (to say the least!) invitations and calls to my room at like 1-2 in the morning before I finally thought to call the front desk to see what they could do. They immediately put the phone on DND, but it still left me uneasy all night. Further to that, the cleanliness and maintenance wasn't good. The toilet didn't work properly - it ran all night (the actually flush stuck) the fridge was warm, and there were multiple very long black hairs on the pillow as if the bed was slept in. The staff were were very pleasant and helpful, I'll give them that. I think things could be "decent" here if they could find a way to address some of these things... but unfortunately i just had a very bad experience.…
This “hotel”if you want to call it like that, is messy and expensive! I’ve never felt so miserable as I felt staying in this place for few hours during the night after driving for the past 16 hours from Toronto. Horrible experience! I don’t recommend this place to anyone! 😤 And I have a lot of photos that can prove my point! Please do yourself a favour and try something else if you are ever in that area! We asked the from desk if we are able to change the rooms because I was pregnant back then and the reply was: “All the rooms that we have are the same. And they are clean! “ If this is clean I will let you be the judge of that. I was scratching all night and wasn’t able to sleep at all and you can see why! This is unacceptable from my point of view!
We stayed one night here and that was enough. The rooms are ok but we had a room of idiots next to us who were literally up all night partying. Two calls to the front desk did nothing. It was the worst hotel stay of my life. I would have slept better in my van. There was also a stabbing here a few years back. I thought maybe it was just a one off thing but I can understand now how that happened. When you let people run wild things can escalate quickly. Stay far away from this place. For your sanity and your safety.
Amazing hotel! Highlight of our trip! I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews. But the kids saw the picture of the water slide and insisted we book this. The check in was smooth. We booked directly through the hotel website and that was about 20% cheaper than Expedia/booking Hotel rooms were clean, pool and hot tub was great, restaurant onsite was good. No complains at all! Staff was very friendly. Also location is great, walking distance to metro, Pizza Hut etc
My spouse and I , We stayed for one night, we checked in very late from the road. The receptionists were great , …but the rooms, the cleanliness was scary. I mean everything was so dirty and soiled, the sheets and the carpet and walls were appalling. Stained Carpet and dirty, bed frame dirty and stained , hairs inside the pillow ... so disappointed, never ever , especially for a hotel rated stay - this was looked like a forgotten motel from an old movie. And the price just topped everything it was 25% more expensive than a one night at a 4star hotel - unbelievable!!! Do not recommend , to anyone , better sleep in your car !
We like the little things, ask how the stay was, a pool that works for everyone, friendly and polite staff, quick check in, clean rooms, comfy beds, quiet building, Enforcing guidelines for Covid, Keurig with coffee in the room. They did it all. Probably our favourite place along our trip! Booked times for pool- cleaning between guests.
Third time staying here. Comfortable, clean and has free k-cups coffee in the room. Wifi great and decent tv. Only one laundry and dryer, dryer broke down so front desk dried our clothes for free in service laundry. So grateful. Thanks Courtney! Room has adjoining door to next suite and you can hear the next rooms conversations - lots of yelling, rowdy and jumpy children that night. Played a noise machine on our tablet and solved that issue. Also you can hear the door slam next door. However, since we stayed on a Sat night, swimming pool was already booked up by the time we checked-in at 6pm. Our son was looking forward to the pool, wish we knew to reserve in advance. Recommend to reserve your kids a spot in the swimming pool if you come on the weekend. Otherwise, amazing customer service, front desk rocks. Friendly and helpful. Quick check-in, clean spacious room. Comfy, will definitely come back! Thanks!…
This hotel was clean and tidy. The restaurant had good pub style food, very good wings. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, check in was fast and easy. Having a free shuttle to the airport and back was a nice bonus, considering the price of a taxi in TB!
I was at the National Special Olympic Winter games in Thunder Bay. The Victoria Inn was our Athlete Village. They took very good care of us and so warm and welcoming to my group. When we had an issue they were give to help us solve it. The food was very good considering we were on a budget. Very happy with our stay at the the Victoria Inn
Business section of hotel was EXCELLENT. Room was spacious, especially the shower. It was VERY quiet. TV was large and the 2 lazy boy chairs were a great feature. The front desk staff was professional and efficient. Considering the number of families and children in the hotel, it was very peaceful and quiet. Fridge, mic, hairdryer, and coffee maker - great additions.
