When our family arrived at this campsite, we were assigned our site, as is always the case for campers. We have been doing this for years, without incident. Not here. When we got to the site, there was a pitched tent, car, and a whole bunch of other stuff sitting right there. We went back to the check-in desk, and... More

Decent place to stay for a family traveling through. One great thing about this place, is they have access to the river and the Trowbridge Falls which is a lot of fun to splash around in and play! The bath house is a bit subpar and could use a little bit of updating and cleaning. The person who checks you... More

We were told by friends to check out this little hidden gem! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the falls and relaxing in the water! Although the rocks were very slippery we found a little pool area and sat down and just enjoyed the beautiful flowing water and the view ! Lovely relaxing day!!

Beautiful campground. Large spacious sites. D loop right by the falls although it isn't marked on their map. We arrived after hours so didn't realize how nice it was at first. The ad for the campground misleading. Municipal campgrounds advertised two parks but didn't say they were at opposite sides of Thunder Bay. Was very confusing. Glad we found Trowbridge... More

We were driving across Canada and this was our Thunder Bay stop for the night. The tent spot had power and a nice tree canopy. Bathrooms were handy and clean. The hidden gems were the falls and the nice trails along the river. I like when campgrounds spots are separated by trees. I would stop here again.

Bathrooms are filthy. Camp site was full of broken glass and nails. 24/7 party with loud music. Security does not answer their phone for a couple hours. When they do, they do nothing even though they have rules stating no excessive noise at any time. Our small children were woken up at 2:30am on the first night by some drunk... More

We had a nice campsite, however, this park seems old, very narrow roadways, most lots are small, and the bathroom facilities were terrible. We felt $40/nite was very overpriced for this park. Because the computers were down, we were not allowed the senior discount which was advertised on their website. The camp ranger told us we would have to go... More

My family and I stopped here for two nights during our trip around Lake Superior in late August 2013; 4 children ages 2-10. This campground is right off the main road that runs through Thunder bay, very close to amenities, stores, etc. The falls were, by far, the highlight of the campground for us, the children loved playing in the... In my opinion, this was my favorite campground my family and I stayed at while we went on the Lake Superior Circle Tour. We were camped on the Current River (ask for a spot there) and the rushing water of the accessible waterfalls lulled me to sleep each night. Clean, and quiet. The bridge going across the river was closed,... More

Our friends had been here 5 years earlier and wanted to go back there with us. We stayed from a Sunday night to Tuesday morning in mid-June. We didn't make reservations but the friendly guy at the check in said there were only 11 campsites being used so it wasn't a problem. We stayed in section D near the waterfall.... More

“If you don't mind the commotion of other people wanting to see the falls, the sites by the rive/falls are lovely and you can't beat the sound of the water at night when you are going to sleep. I n fact, I noticed that it did block out road noise from the main road that was apparent when I went to the showers.”
