Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Things were different because of Covid protocols, such as no one entering the room to clean it. But whenever we needed something (towels, shampoo, etc) we only had to ask and it was quickly and cheerfully provided. The breakfast was a takeaway service and always tasty.
Hotel location was ideal for us with the grocery store a few minutes walk, enabling us to dine in most nights. There are a few restaurants nearby too, and lots of shopping a short drive away.
Best part was the people, helpful and friendly, exemplified by the cheery folks who served breakfast each day!

We were very pleased with our stay here.
The staff was awesome and very willing to help and please.
I thought I reserved a specific room with a huge bath tub but didn't and there was only a shower in the room but the staff were very helpful to switch to a room with a bath tub, a small one albeit but at least it was a tub.
I really can't say anything bad about my stay.

Awesome accommodations. I have been here for 2 months for work. Amazing friendly service. Great breakfast and coffee in the morning. Very clean and safe. My work had to extend my stay as I am still here and they easily accommodated the stay. Also in great location for shopping and restaurants. Lastly the room has a full kitchen, dishes, pots, burners to cook and dishwasher.

We choose the Towne Suites as Marriott hotels have a clear COVID policy and we wanted a kitchenette room. Check in was easy. The room was very spacious--a good sized well stocked kitchenette, a table for 4, 2 queen beds and an 2 accent chairs. There were just 2 of us and 4 people might find the bathroom a bit small for everyone.
The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was a pleasure to sit at a table after several days of travel.
The surroundings are a bit bleak, although to balance that there is the advantage of a big Superstore across the parking lot. It is pretty direct to get back onto the highway.
Due to COVID 19, breakfast was a prebagged option and was fine, nothing special.
A sign at the front door indicated the hotel was designated for essential workers only but the hotel was taking regular travelers such as us as well.

I always stay at Marriott Hotels if I have to travel. I stayed here on my way to Sudbury, they have good COVID measures, and the staff were Great. The kitchenette is perfect for my needs and helped me avoid going out into the city I was unfamiliar with. Thanks for being a great hotel.

Don’t be fooled by the name! This hotel does not meet Marriott standards.
For $500 you should not expect to see a disposable hygiene mask and a dirty lid under the bed + stains on the carpet (see pictures). Ironically, the price includes a $50 pet cleaning fees. Also, there was only one big towel in the bathroom (and we are 3 people).
We phoned the front desk and house keeping (several times) but did not get any answer. We then went to the lobby and informed them about the above issues. We got 2 additional towels but nobody came to clean the room!!!
The included breakfast was very plain with very few options to choose from.

Right from checking in at the front desk to my spacious room I was 100% satisfied overall. The front desk staff went above and beyond - even during COVID I was never left wanting for any request. If I needed something in my room, it was a simple matter of letting the front desk know in the morning and it was awaiting my arrival when I got back in the evening. The daily breakfast bags were some of the best I have had. More than enough for anyone's needs. I will stay here again anytime!

Worst hotel stay ever. Unclean room, odd stains on carpet and dog hair everywhere. Vents in the bathroom have never been cleaned and toilets are not properly cleaned either. Management does nothing to resolve issues or compensate guests for a horrible stay.

+1
I was in Thunder Bay for work during the Covid Crisis and spent the week here. Unfortunately I can't comment on some of the things here like the pool or the housekeeping because the pool was closed and they had limited service during my stay. which was understandable.
The room itself however was nice, it was essentially a studio apartment. I liked having the kitchenette as it meant I could avoid having to either order delivery, or get takeout to eat. The bed was very comfortable and room itself was well laid out in a very practical way, maximizing the utilization of space.
I would very much like to come back here again when the everything is back to normal.

I stayed at this hotel numerous times (25+ nights) between May 2022 and October 2022. The hotel is conveniently located for my work, but is in dire need of a refresh. Overall I have since decided to stay elsewhere when in town because the price is outrageous (60% more) in comparison to other locations that offer suites in Thunder Bay. I can get the same room at Towneplace Suites in Sudbury for half of what they are charging in TB.
